Heya! I'm your friendly neighborhood Larsinny, a demon here to keep you updated on the current debacles going on within the site! Okay, maybe not debacles... Anyway! The Endymion Plot, our Third Main Plot, is underway! We also have our sideplot taking place called Junction! If you're a new member looking to join the new plot, you will want to choose Endymion. However, if you're interested in our sideplot, you may also join that one aswell. The choice is ultimately up to you! The Dungeon Master of the Junction plot is CWIS and the DM of the current Endymion plot is Godai and Grantus.

All templates on the site have been updated, and this also includes the rules aswell. When referring to the rules, please disregard any that say "Old" or "Obsolete" as we are no longer using those rules for the Endymion Plot. Oh, don't be mistaken! I love breaking the rules! But in this case, follow them or erasure!

The Biography

Birth Name: Elpis
Aliases: The Lord of Dawn, Luthier Kaito.
Gender: Male
Age: Six million years. (by his reckoning of how long he's been traveling).
Birth Day: December 5th.
Species/Race Name: Actual Species: Aspect of the Lord of Dawn.
Host Species: Biologically altered augmented Human
Original Homeworld Name: War Earth (Current Host). Unknown (Thought to be made in a lab). (See Background for details)
Arcana: Justice (Arcana types can be found here.
Place of Residence: Top Ward
Academy Semester: (Are you a first, second, or third year in school? Note: Age is not the main factor in what year of school you are in on Junction)

Part/Full Time Job: (Do you have a job? If so, put it here. It can be completely custom or you can work in one of the various locations put on the board. This is optional. All jobs give you the same amount of money when you're working them.)

Appearance: Elpis is about 5ft, 4in, and weighs about 150 lbs. In his current host, which looks like this:
The Lord of Dawn:
He never takes of the helmet in front of anyone because of how his true face seems to scare people (and attract unwanted attention.)

The current host body is Luthier Kaito, from War Earth, which Elpis plucked out of the grave, and then recovered the tech that Luthier used in life. The armor he wears is a collection of various pieces of technology Luthier used that Elpis came up with his own names for (seeing as the original names were serial numbers and the name of the object, this is one of the few stylistic choices he made).
The armor itself is named Canopy Unto Dawn, and he has other pieces of gear equipped onto it that he only uses in actual combat.

He uses a host because Elpis’s natural state is a sentient type of slime of unknown origin (It's earliest memories are of a lab, so perhaps it is a biological experiment). The host is a dead body that Elpis’s slime enters and takes over by absorbing itself in, infusing the body with regenerative chemicals that undo the effects of flesh decay, purge any kind of parasites and diseases, or other toxins, undo the effects of rigor mortis and hijack the brain of its host for itself, absorbing everything in it. It also enables the body to act as if it were alive again as a result, and the chemicals continuously keep the body maintained in peak physical condition. The downsides however is that such rapid regrowth causes mutations from the previous hosts of the slime to manifest in various forms, mainly disfigurement.
For the most part, though, nothing major really comes into play that he can't hide... much. He never shows his actual state in combat.

(OOC: Please note that the slime form does not reffer to his actual true form in combat.)

Also, due to the process, the nervous system is taken over, and Elpis only keeps it for the muscle memory it provides, as it considers pain a necessary detriment.

Personality: Elpis is the type of person that, at first glance, one would not want to mess with due to his intimidating appearance. Elpis acts in whatever motions it deems appropriate as to the situation, often drawing on its host's memories for reference, and oftentimes comes across as coldly logical to others since it cannot quite emote. His voice is quite cold and tersely deadpan in tone, which often contrasts with his statements.

To Elpis, it doesn't really spare much thought to its origins, it's main directive mainly being to simply survive however it can. However, he’s very curious, and eager to experience emotions however he can (as while he can recall the memories, even the muscle one's, feelings and sensations are not replicated).

He doesn't understand why people might take issue to his true appearance either beneath the mask, but because it does not wish to attract undue attention, it suppresses the more hideous parts of himself to him alone.

Sometimes, remnants of the current host’s personality might resurface momentarily, and it considers these moments to be akin to sudden out of body experiences of Jamaias Vu.

Its own origins are something that it doesn't have a clear grasp of, and overtime has narrowed down the reason why to two possibilities: Either A.) He was artificially created, so he has no prior memories, or B.) He was not sentient then, and experiments created him based on his earliest memories being hazy images of a lab.
It would investigate them to satisfy its curiosity if it had a lead, which it has boundless amounts of.

He remembers all his host’s information, and holds no ill will to people that manage to prove him wrong or otherwise. To him, if he lost, it is his fault, and his alone for not anticipating whatever possibility occurred that led to his defeat.

He also never stops being polite as possible no matter the situation, at most reacting with exasperation when something annoys him. This is a trait that his current host seemed to admire as a mark of a man who is calm and capable. He also possess a remarkable drive for knowledge to satisfy his curiosity.

He also has a Love-hate relationship with his nervous system. On One hand, He Could Do Without It, as he sees pain as something that is jarring to the body, and rather unpleasant for him. On the other hand, his nervous system lets him experience sensations he's never felt before, and he loves that.

He is very neutral in a lot of viewpoints, often viewing them from the most logical angle.

For example, he views the idea of forming bonds with others from a neutral standpoint, as forming positive attachments is necessary for the survival of many living beings, be it for whatever benefits. However, he himself is one of the few that does not need others to survive, but would rather have them than not if only because there could be additional benefits involved.
Also because the less enemies one has, the better (this is also why he is so polite.)

He loves feeling new sensations, the absorption of knowledge, and many things related to that thereof. Music is a new interest that he has acquired from his latest host. He also enjoys science as well.

He hates those that cannot maintain what they say for no good reason because even a beast, when it has a goal, sticks to achieving it until it either has, or it simply no longer can. To him, any being that can't even do that is a lower lifeform.

He honestly doesn't care either if you refer to him as it either. But at the moment, he prefers masculine pronouns as that is the gender of his host body. Issues relating to that sort of thing are something he's never understood, being that he's been across the board of genders, and after a while, the differences just sort of fade into the background.

Also to him, time is a non-issue, as due to his long lifespan, he can afford to take the long road around to certain things, something he honestly doesn't mind if it pays off in the end.

The Potential

Strengths: (Anything your character is skilled in, such as Martial Arts/ Drawing/ etc? You are allowed a maximum of five strengths and a minimum of three.)

Strength Name:: Augmentation and Mutation:
Description: The technology the host used and the mutations that Elpis caused to manifest on it have caused it to be able to accomplish feats that would be beyond most humans to accomplish with enhanced senses and muscular capabilities.

Strength Name: Inherited Strength:
Description: When Elpis absorbs himself into a host, he also inherits one of the natural talents they had in life via absorption of the brain (including the host’s memories) and through the body’s muscle memory as well. This changes from host to host. In this case, the strength is that his host was a gifted swordsman, so his dex. Atks with a soulbound do 15% more damage.

Strength Name: Curious as a Monkey:
Description: Given the chance, Elpis will absolutely investigate something with passion, not ceasing until it has been satiated.

Strength Name: Mark of the Dawn:
Description: Being a piece of the Lord of Dawn (however small and unaware it may be of what it is) has given him a power that even he is unaware of, and only able to tap into when he is in a corrupted state. Mainly that his light attacks are boosted by 10% in corruption form.

Strength Name: Longevity:
Description: Elpis effectively will never age, and his host bodies have a much longer lifespan than before thanks to the chemicals effectively preserving the body in it's physical peak. However...

((Racial Strength: This is where you put any special powers that your race is capable of. This area is where your character truly comes alive. Things such as flight, shape shifting, or anything else your race can do is put here. This strength will be heavily scrutinized to ensure balance.)

Racial Strength Name: Bio-Nightmare:
Description: Elpis is a biological creature of immense power due to the above host he has(see his appearance). Even if that host body suffers lethal injuries again, Elpis will not be killed unless literally every last bit of flesh on it was removed. Otherwise, at most, the shock of it would put Elpis into a coma-like state for the next two weeks, where he'd then be either forced to leave the host body or spend a further two weeks healing the injuries on the host body depending on how severe the damage is because part of the process of controlling the host involves integrating itself into the nervous system. Thus hitting what would be vital points on someone possessed by Elpis would not have the same effects as hitting someone else of the same species. (This only applies to Physical real-world damage).

Weaknesses: (You must have the same amount of weaknesses as strengths. These weaknesses pertain to you and not your Persona. IE: Physically Weaker, lack of attention span, etc.)

Weakness Name: Disfigurement:
Description: The mutations and augmentation however have lead to him developing an appearance beneath his outfit best described as the stuff of nightmares.

Weakness Name: Inherited Limits:
Description: When he absorbs a host, he also inherits the natural weaknesses they had in life. In this case, the limit is that his host had a hard time using a gun, meaning his gun attacks do 15% less damage.

Weakness Name: Lack of Curiosity Restraint:
Description: Surprisingly though, his curiosity has led him to investigate things that one wouldn't suspect of him normally doing. All in the name of science, to him anyways.

Weakness Name: Genetic Limit:
Description: As Corruption seems to push the limit of his ability to possess a host, during Corruption state, the damage of dark elemental attacks, his bane, are 10% more effective on him.

Weakness Name: Host Limits:
Description: One of the key weaknesses of taking a host is that, while it is preserved, the body itself can only absorb so much of the chemicals that Elpis produces before it simply cannot and thereafter it cannot be used, forcing him to change hosts. The limit varies, but in this case, he has about 55 years remaining, which for him is a very short time.

weakness must tie into your racial Strength and will be looked over just as heavily.)

Racial Weakness Name: Mutated Monstrosity
Description: However, Elpis’s abilities are limited to the host’s, meaning he can do things that would be considered impossible for a member of his host Species without dying, but things that are outright impossible (like trying to touch his toes in the body of a fish) are beyond him. He's also extremely vulnerable without a host, to the point where he could be killed easily as his natural state is very delicate and vulnerable to electricity, anything with a temperature over 100 degrees fahrenheit or below 60 degrees fahrenheit, and salt. He also can only possess organic sentient creatures (read: things close to or above human intelligence), not beasts and machines, that are deceased for less than ten years (as by that point the flesh has deteriorated to an unrecoverable point).

Soul Bound Weapon: (This is the weapon you'll be able to summon to your hand while in combat. This weapon is special for your character specifically and allows you to fight Shadows and Demons without the need of summoning your Persona. This can be anything but a Gun (Or gun related weapon))

Weapon Name: Origin Guiding Light, Sparagmos
Weapon Description: An artifact that generates from a special gauntlet on his right elbow, it's a weapon that's comprised of pure solid light, making it extremely deadly to the user in the wrong hands, but with the right user, it becomes able to strike deadly blows. It's about 3ft. long.

Side-Arm Name: Shaker
Side-Arm Description: A set of gauntlets on his hands have space for three shots, and this is the Shaker. The Shaker itself is a sort of gun that fires special needle-bullets that he uses in combat. It's about 1ft. long.

Revolver - Single Shot - Accuracy is increased by 20%. Consumes only one type of ammo per use. Can shoot only one enemy at a time.

Shotgun - Scatter Shot - Accuracy is decreased by 30%. Consumes 3 types of ammo at once to fire -must be same type of ammo. Can shoot all enemies with one attack.

Machine Gun - Muti-Round - Accuracy is decreased by 30%. Consumes 3 types of ammo at once to fire -must be same type of ammo.

Sniper Rifle - Aimed Shot - Accuracy and crit chance is increased by 20%, bullets also pierce through an enemy and ignore 10% of their PEnd. Takes a turn to charge/aim before able to fire. Consumes only one type of ammo per use. Can shoot only one enemy at a time.)

The Background

Elpis is a being that is so old, he no longer can quite remember remember he came from. His oldest memories are of a hazy time in a lab that only become clear when he began his first life in a host.

The Truth is...:

Throughout the ages, Elpis has jumped through only one other reality before getting to Junction.Over the years, he’s gone through countless hosts in the process, some of which lasted longer than others. He's gone through hundreds, if not thousand of bodies over the years that he's discarded for one reason or another.

He went from his world to War Earth after his spacecraft got accidentally sucked into a wormhole, which transported his spaceship  to War Earth, where it crashed, and then he spent about a century or so (which to him is a short while). There he became known as a mercenary known as the Lord of Dawn.

Luthier is simply the latest in a long line of hosts. He found the body in a grave, he took it over, and that night, rose up and after a quick scan of the memories, and after bursting out of it, recovered the technology used by his host in life (leaving quite a swath of corpses in it's wake).
It got to Junction the same day as Takeru, but spent about five years in the slums as a recluse, getting used to his new body.

When he finally got used enough to it to where he felt comfortable enough to no longer be a recluse, he saw an advertisement for a certain authors book that caused a relapse of memories unlike anything before for him.
As if on instinct, he traveled to the author’s house.
Though the author initially reacted with glee at the sight, it turned to horror, then rage, then after a while, acceptance.
Ever since then, it's been living with that author in the basement.
All of which was around 25 years ago.

His name, Elpis, was taken from the myth of Pandora's box, his favorite story.

Character Data At 70%.

The "Grand Experience" strength is far to vague. Please specify its limitations and capabilities, it may need to be part of your racial strength. None of your weaknesses seem to balance this strength. Also, not being immortal is not a weakness.

If you wish to be a world hopper, make this your Racial or have a VERY good reason why you have that level of tech.

Please note that your current Racial protects from physical damage, not soul.

Your racial weakness needs to be more limiting.
