Azul felt sick. He felt as though he was about to vomit up everything he had left inside of him. Which, at this point, was probably cold hot dogs. He hadn't slept last night. How could he, with what had happened? He rested a hand on a wall, and the other on his knee. He had been running. All night. Which was far more than he was used to. He was almost back to his apartment, but...at this point he was starting to question if THAT would even be safe.

A week. A whole goddamn week since the worst night of his life. He hadn't left his home since that night. In fact, he had spent the first four days sat in front of his door, sword in hand, as if waiting for something to burst in and try and kill him again. By day four, he had finally relaxed enough...to move away from the door. Going outside was unthinkable, even as he checked for updates on his arm. Even though apparently it was 'all clear'. He couldn't bring himself to go out. Not out into the world. Not when the world could make something like THAT. There had been no contact from anyone who mattered. The Velvet Room, Tiberinus, or even his Anonymous Contact. He had no friends to check up on, or really, anyone who cared about his existence enough to come check on him. This was his life. The one he chose to lead for himself. Solitude and secret. By day the morning of Day 7, he had finally managed to pinch himself enough to decide to go outside. After a much needed shower, he managed to drag himself out, closing and locking his door, and clenching his real hand so tightly he swore he would draw blood. He set off, slowly and cautiously. he somewhat expected a monster to come out from behind any corner and attack him, despite his logical mind telling him how incredibly unlikely that was.

As he walked, he shivered a little. Having little to no clue how his new powers even worked, mixed with still being incredibly uncomfortable, had left to a barely visibly blue mist to start appearing around him. While most who noticed would probably write it off as it being some weird thing to do with his species, it would likely be easily recognized by anyone who recognized what it really was.

"...damn..."

Shopping bag full and in hand, the president began his trek back home from the commercial district as a series of questions ran through his head. Whatever had been going on and whatever these… Seeker powers granted to him were supposed to be used for, there was clearly something deeper going on. He realized it was irrational thinking, but due to the way things went down and the things he’d seen, Lucian couldn’t help but feel like maybe he’d been involved with this conflict and mystery since before he even set foot in Junction. There were just too many coincidences; him finding the book just as the corruption started, the fact he had a book transcript of the audio that everyone heard in the first place, the visions he saw before obtaining his powers, the medically inexplicable wound on his neck, the blue gate and the ominous dark voice calling him a “dog of the traveler”… It all had to be somehow connected.

As he mused, Lucian stumbled upon a child walking out and about; not usually a noteworthy sight, but this child… he had an aura floating about him, an aura Lucian had recently come to be familiar with. “Hey, child…” Lucian called out for his attention. “…You wouldn’t happen to be a Seeker, would you?” If he turned out to actually be one and it turned out that Lucian stumbled upon a fellow Seeker this early on… well, his luck might not have been as mediocre as he initially thought.

As soon as Azul realized his 'aura' was showing, he took steps to get it under control as he turned to look at who had spoken to him. Right. A seeker. That was what they were being called. Mutants who had lucked out and become awesome, as far as he had gathered. It was preferable to some of the things he had seen that night, he supposed. Even if he had no clue how to even try and take advantage of it. "...yeah." He finally replied, after looking over the man. Grocery bags...still, if he could recognize the aura, it likely meant he had either seen a Seeker, or WAS one. Azul didn't like to make assumptions about people, but even he knew there'd be at least ONE seeker using their powers for...morally bankrupt purposes. Outright trusting another seeker wasn't exactly something he'd do, but going out of his way not to trust anyone could lead to other problems down the line.

"You?"

Lucian slowly nodded in confirmation. It was odd, referring to himself by such a title, but he couldn’t deny the fact that he was no longer an ordinary human. Besides, he was far from a stranger to being favored by the government. “You should probably hide it better; fame can be a pain in the behind.” He spoke only from experience. “It could easily garner you unappreciated attention, you know.” The whole situation was a bit of a déjà vu; once you gain something that makes you unique, powerful and useful, those in charge and those who aren’t will try to use you or manipulate you. In some cases you won’t even have a choice.

His thoughts were growing a bit dark, however. He’d found a fellow seeker, that should be something to be happy about! If the threat of corruption was still present and ready to strike again then it was in all their best interests to cooperate and stick together. A child, though? When he felt uncomfortable about Alice being a seeker he realized deep down that it was only because she was his daughter – she could hold her own just fine – but this child… he looked much younger, between the ages of thirteen and fifteen if he had to take a guess. Though, he never knew, maybe that was just what an adult of his species looked like. “Aren’t you a bit young to be a Seeker?”

Azul blinked at the man. Nobody knew him, and that was how he liked it. If a civilian figured out he was a Seeker, he could easily hide away in the slums. He was used to being homeless, and besides, it meant that he didn't have to make long trips. Azul operated in the shadows all of his life. Slipping back into them wouldn't be some huge feat. "...not a problem." He finally answered, hands slipping into his pockets. "There's no name to put to my face." Even rumors needed a name, and he had only given his alias out to one person in Junction. At best, rumors of a Seeker with blue eyes and blonde hair would circle around, and that...wouldn't get anyone anywhere.

The next question made Azul's eyebrow raise. "I wasn't aware there was an age restriction on mutating." He answered simply. He had been one of the most notorious Hacker on his home planet by age 15. Having weird powers by age 16 wasn't so unusual, to him. "Could happen to anyone."

“Then people will make one.” It was rather naïve to think that just because people didn’t know your exact given name that they wouldn’t remember you. At the very least they’d call him “the blonde human kid” or something similar; Seekers weren’t emeralds but they also weren’t quartz either. “I don’t mean to sound like your father, but us Seekers need to be a little bit more careful. You’re in the public eye now whether you like it or not, child, I’m just handing out some advice.”

“That’s not exactly what I meant…” Lucian couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow at the child. Was he one of those people that interpreted everything on a literal level? If so, this would be… interesting, to say the very least. “But, who am I to determine that, eh? I’ve seen younger people be capable of a lot.”

Azul shook his head. "Trust me, I know how to disappear completely." It wasn't an assumption, he had literally spent most of his life disappearing after negative press came out. Anyone trying to lead an investigation on him would suddenly end up with secrets exposed. Any SEEKERS that could try and track him down, regardless of purpose...well. He could work that out on his own. "...is striking up conversation with other Seekers really safe either?" Azul's face remained emotionless. On the surface, it seemed inherently foolish. While deeper down, you might be able to manipulate someone sufficiently with information, you'd be running the risk of someone who happened not to care about using their power's for Good (or at least Neutral purposes).

"By implying there is a 'too young' you imply that there is either a minimum age, or some kind of 'age range'." Azul shook his head. Being surprised by ANYTHING about other Seekers simply couldn't be tolerated, be it Age, Race, or Gender. "...sorry. Thanks for the advice." Azul shook his head. Normally he wasn't on edge to the point he'd nearly start an argument but...there was just something that had put him in a particularly bad mood. "On my World, a large number of us were either experts in our chosen field, or nothing by 14." Azul admitted.

“Why wouldn’t it be?” Lucian was starting to get the feeling this kid might be a little bit paranoid. Tall words coming from the man who was currently warning him to be more careful with his use of Persona, he realized, but was it really necessary to avoid any and all contact with potential suspected threats? It was one thing to play it safe as Lucian suggested, it was another to take no risks whatsoever. “Us seekers have to stick together; these past few days haven’t exactly been a golden age for Junction.” What good were seekers if they couldn’t communicate and cooperate, really? The problems weren’t going to solve themselves simply by having Personas haphazardly thrown their way.

“Oh?” And just like that, the child’s mood had shifted. Had he simply come to reason, or was there something Lucian was overlooking? “…No need to apologize, I was just speaking my mind.” That was… weird; he wasn’t really used to ending disputes so early on… or at all, when it came to close-minded people. As much as he was tempted to quip, Lucian refrained from commenting on the absurdity of expected professionalism at the age of fourteen. “Do your people also have trees for lower intestines? Because it would appear your kind have several sticks up their asses.” Is what he would’ve liked to say, but he knew better than that. “Sounds taxing. Don’t rely on professionalism too much, though; mutants will hunt down flunkies and PhDs all the same.”

Calling Azul Paranoid was...actually fairly accurate at the moment. At least back on Gridd all the threats had at least been human in nature. What he had seen on that night was...something else entirely. And that had stuck with him. "I suppose that's true too." Azul mused. There was certainly strength in numbers against the Mutants, but trusting others wasn't exactly something Azul considered a good idea. Especially trusting other people who also had ghost powers. He didn't want to get into a dumb fight, especially while he had no clue about half of what he could actually do with his OWN ghost powers. "On the other hand, you have to still be aware that not everyone can be as...good...about these powers as we apparently can." Azul sighed, rubbing his arm.

"...I suppose you're right about that." The Mutants did seem to be...indiscriminate about their senseless killing. "...what's your name?" He finally asked. It was probably a good idea to try and keep track of at least SOME of the people he had met.

“I don’t doubt there are or will be people who use Personae for their own selfish gains, no.” He could imagine some even made the most of the chaos from the failed jump to get away with some quick crimes. The very thought made him angry. “However, if we choose to distrust everyone, what allies are left?” At least in Lucian’s eyes, while the concept of betrayal was obviously horrible, there was nothing you could ever do to completely secure yourself from it. Sooner or later somebody will betray you, which was exactly why trusting people was important. If one person betrays you and you have no allies left, you’re as good as done for.

Finally. It seemed Lucian’s persuasion wasn’t falling on deaf ears. “I’m Lucian. Lucian Clarke.” He introduced himself, giving Azul a friendly, reassuring smile. “You?”

"...You can call me Azul." He finally replied, shoving a hand into his pocket. 'Jeez...why would you just trust random people anyway? Especially ones with magical powers? Logic says that more people'll abuse it than would use it for good. Even I have to admit, they idea of an ice powered bank robbery'd be fun.' He shook his head. "Trust where I come from is rare. Most people back home were assholes." He admitted playing nice could have it's uses, but for him, most things could be done on his own. More could be done with his giant beetle friend.

"You work in a group, then?"

“It’s nice to meet you.” He politely replied in response to his greeting. “I do, actually. Well… it’s less of an established group and more so a loose group of acquaintances who happen to be Seekers that I’m looking to expand.” Most were more than just simple acquaintances, but bringing up family this soon would be playing his cards way to early. Lucian reached into his pocket and handed Azul a small card with his number on it. “If you ever feel like putting your powers to a noble use, give me a call.”

And with that, Lucian walked off towards his own home. These shopping bags weren’t going to put themselves down.

"Noble Use, huh? That'd be a first." Azul only spoke once Lucian had gone. He heaved a heavy sigh. He did need to find some people to hang out with, but he got the feeling that group might be the wrong choice.

But maybe he needed a change in life, too.
