He remembered getting beaten and then darkness. Endless darkness. Endless pain. He was being punished and thought he was going to die, but then the pain had ceased. From there, he wasn’t sure what was happening. He just remember the sensation of falling and then….
Sounds. Strange sounds were surrounding him. Laughter, talking, music. Smells...park food, popcorn, sweets. What was this? Why was this? And what was this feeling upon him? Warmth and something solid pressing on his back….?
He wanted to see, but he couldn’t. His body wasn’t functioning properly, so after a while he simply gave up and let his mind drift back into sleep.

He came around some time later. Something warm, small, and gentle was petting his head. He could make out a voice, but it was so far away. He would struggle some more to see and then finally, his golden eyes would crack open and at first see nothing. Then…
“....”Golden orbs would blink sleepily as they looked up into the youthful face of a young girl. She was singing a soft lullaby as she sat next to him gently stroking his hair. She wore an expression of concern at first, but then seeing he was awake she would smile.
“Oh goody! The kitty woke up! Hehe. Now I don’t have to worry anymore!” she would say cheerfully, the words alone confusing him. What did she mean by not worry? Just how long was she sitting there? He would ponder that for a second and then, the child leaned over and did the unexpected. She kissed him on the forehead!
Shock overcame the rest of the sleepiness as he blinked at her even more confused, but the child only giggled before she hopped off the bench.
“You got a second chance kitty, so try to be good this time around and not work for bad people, ok?” she would say and then before he could even question her words, she ran off into the crowd and vanished, leaving the pink haired man a bit baffled on the bench as he stared in the direction she had gone. Who...no
what was that? He racked his brain for an answer, but none came.
Staying still for a bit longer, the pink haired cat would eventually shift his weight to swing his legs off the bench and look around. It seemed that he had been placed in a festival sort of setting. Lots of people, stands, food, and all around a happy air. Unsure if this was some form of heaven, hell, or actually reality, the cat decided to explore these new surroundings for now to see what he could learn.
