| She took a pause to think about her actions. Maybe earlier would have been easier to catch. “Mmmmmaybe not. I guess I am just a bad flirt,” she said with a laugh. She messed up after all. Oh well, not often she gets a chance to flirt with someone who wouldn’t suspect it. Boys, and even a couple girls try that, but they expect a response. Sometimes it gets boring after a while. When he talked of his dreams, Jandice looked at him as though she were ready to take notes on what he was saying. “College eh? Sometimes I wonder what people who go there are like…” she said, a bit quieter than everything else she has said. “Don’t you want to love your job? Maybe you should figure out what you want so you won’t have just a “job” to think about. Vegas sounds a lot like fun! I bet they pay well. You could live fairly comfortably working as a dealer or a server,” she said with a grin. The poor guy must be lost, not being able to think about what he wants. It bothered her that he felt this way. “I can’t wait to see you do what you want to do. You seem like a go-with-the-flow type,” she said, with a nod. You gotta hurry up an figure it out now so you can spend the rest of life enjoying it after all. | |

| It was kind of hard to hear Jandice's little comment before everything else she said. Something about people...? Oh well. It was kind of bugging him that he couldn't make it out, but he wasn't going to backtrack now, especially when she delved into his potential jobs. "Yeah, I bet they pay some pretty good money up there. After all, you can only spend so much on pretty lights, right?" Julian laughed. After all, Vegas made how many billions of dollars off of unlucky gamblers and tourists? Surely a fair chunk of change had to go to all of the people running the show. "But I guess then I couldn't play the tables, huh? They might think I'm cheating." He rested his chin on his fist, screwing his mouth to one side in a funny frown of disappointment. That really would suck, being in the one city in the world based on luck (which he had to admit he had a fabulous relationship with) and not being able to test out the odds himself. Now that would actually be kind of boring.
"Ha, y'know, my dad says that. Except he always adds 'so I know how much of my savings I need to blow'." The teen chuckled lightly before taking a sip of water. "I guess you could say that. Some people always want things to go a certain way, but life's unpredictable. It's nice to be ready for anything life throws at you," He paused for a moment to grin impishly, his silver eyes lighting up at the thought, "so you can throw back twice as much."

| “You can’t play the tables? Are you a lucky guy? Now I am curious. What is about you that will make people think you’re cheating?” she asked, a mischievous smirk growing on her face. So this kid was indeed more interesting than she thought. Maybe the outside of this club really had more to it. Maybe when she is forced to have time off she will go outside. The light will be so bright! “Maybe we should have some poker at the tables here. I will have to ask at the end of the night who knows how, and if they were willing. Thanks for the idea Jewels!” Jandice said holding two fingers up in a peace sign. Even as smoothly as she went from one thought to another, she remained calm, like she was used to jumping around from thought to thought…which was most likely the case. “Your dad must be a smart guy. The best options are usually the ones you are not considering. But when you think about them, you are considering them. Do they become bad then? Weird paradox…But now I have to pay you back somehow. Hm….I already gave you free drinks, so I think another would be boring. What do you want as a reward for your help?” | |

| "You could say that." Julian grinned, giving a modest shrug. "Just saying my chances at winning something seem pretty good." But if he was working at a casino and suddenly started playing the tables--not to mention winning a lot of money--people might start to talk. They'd say he was rigging the system or soemthing like that. Nah, he didn't want to go through the hassle. Oh, what was this? Poker night? "If the idea passes, count me in for that one." That was one of his favorite games, actually. It was tempting to offer his help, but with his school schedule, he wasn't sure how that would play out. But if Jandice asked, he'd consider it. It might be a good way to get rid of stress ater in the school year, or just something fun to do. ...The way Jandice's mind worked was kind of boggling. How she tied all that together was beyond him, but--after he'd broken down her logic and actually thought about it--it kinda made sense. A paradox indeed. Before he could focus on the other part she said, his iPod began to buzz. // Already...? // He'd set that alarm so he'd be sure to leave in time to get some decent rest tonight, but damn...was it really that late? Time flies when you're having fun, apparently. Why couldn't it fly when everything was boring instead? That would make life so much more enjoyable. Ah, well. It'd be best to be heading out then. Julian stood up from his chair, snatching his water glass from the counter before downing the last few sips in one gulp. Oh...he'd started that Shirley Temple too. It'd be kind of rude to leave it after Jandice went through the trouble to get it for him (as she kind of pointed out there, he noticed). So he drank that too, shivering lightly at the sweet taste. Oh yeah, he'd definitely have enough energy to get back home. Maybe too much. "Reward?" the dark-haired teen cocked an inquisitve eyebrow. A light smirk danced across his face as he studied Jandice for a moment, considering what he could ask of her. "...Y'know, lemme think about it. For now, let's just say you owe me one and leave it at that." Maybe he'd come up with something later. Something good. But it was nice to have that favor stored away, just in case he really needed it later. Who knows when something small could play out to your advantage? "I guess I'll see you around, Jandice. Preferably soon, of course." After shooting the woman another bright grin, Julian turned and walked towards the doors. Well, he'd been right; spending some of his time at the Wave's Peak shook off the cloud of boredom hanging over his head. Maybe now he'd be a little more ready to face the teachers tomorrow. -Exit- | |
