It was rare for Eryka to be doing something other than her studies or physical training but here she was. Sitting on a half wall outside of Class Zero's primary building, back rested against the full wall behind her, Eryka was eating a sandwich. One might think the emotionless expression on her face was one of peace but in reality? It was apathy. It was a common emotion the amputee felt but today it sapped her of the drive she normally felt.

Downtime was something she had always struggled with. A lack of hobbies and a lack of any real dreams or ambition for the future were the cause for that. Her only driving motivator to keep walking was to survive but if she was simply surviving for survival's sake then what was the point? Ah it didn't matter. She was a Cadet and there was always going to be demons to protect people from. That's all which mattered. Shaking her head the amputee took another bite from her sandwich, swallowing it without bothering to appreciate the taste.

The world was a blur.

The wind whistled past her as she ran. The weather wasn't so bad with the clouds forming almost ominously above. Maria was sprinting as fast as she could across the area while deftly avoiding people, even going around the track and the gym a couple of times without stopping. It might have felt a little cold due to her current attire, but she was warmed up enough to ignore the chilliness. It was almost as if nothing mattered to her as she mindlessly ground through her path back to Seven Stars. As each step brought her closer back, the sooner her workout ended.

As she approached the entrance, Maria brought to an abrupt stop. There was that new Cadet eating beside it, alone. The Cadet had a faint taste of how familiarly strange she was. It might have been a better idea to give a wave and go on her way, but that was a luxury as a Class One Cadet. So...

"Hey there. Having lunch right now?"

Eryka paused, turned her head towards Maria and placed her sandwich back inside the plastic carry container used to store it. The amputee climbed down from the half-wall and stood at attention, saluting. She was fully expecting Maria's presence here to be one of a formal matter.

"Yes mam but it can wait. Do you have orders for me?" As far as Eryka was concerned there was no reason any Cadet would ever approach her unless, for some reason, they had been tasked with delivering deployment orders to Eryka. The prospect of someone, anyone, approaching Eryka for the sole purpose of socialization was so pointless the amputee hadn't stopped to consider it.
