| Jeremy Braun "A bad story is only read, but never understood. A good story can make you forget about reality for a while. A great story will make you forget what reality ever was."
The Biography
|
Birth Name: Jeremy Braun Aliases: The Exchange Student Gender: Male Age: 15 Birth Day: August 15 Arcana: Temperance Place of Residence: School Dorms School Year: First Class: 1 - A
After School Club: (None yet, but will eventually join the Literature club)
Part Time Job: Librarian & Writer
Appearance: The exchange student surely doesn't need any help standing out. A fiery red mop of hair rests atop his head, with a pair of reading glasses tucked up over his brow to keep the hair out of his face, when he's not using them of course. On top of being very short for his age, he's also rather thin, downright scrawny even. But while his body seems more suited for someone younger, his face makes up for his deceitful size. His deep green eyes always seem rather distant, as if he's not even looking at whatever is in front o him.
He always carries backpack with him, wherever he can. It's always full of something, usually books, and combined with his short stature, looks almost comically over sized on his back. He isn't one for stylish clothes, and usually sticks to simply his school uniform, or a button-up shirt and jeans.
Personality: Dreamer: Jeremy can seem rather distant most of the time. The easy explanation is that he's 'in his own little world' but he believes that it's something much more than that. He's got a creative mind that's always running. He's constantly creating stories, theories, and ideas, which he always feels the need to write when he has the chance. At times, it's like he lives in the realms of fantasy and reality at the same time... and occasionally brings a bit of fantasy back with him into reality. As much as he loves writing his stories, he gets really defensive over them, either claiming that their 'private' or 'not done yet'. But when he finally opens up enough to share... he craves approval.
Anxieties: There doesn't seem like much of a middle ground for Jeremy's emotions. His high-strung nerves usually tip wildly in one direction or another. More often than not, it's usually to some degree of stress, worry, fear or panic. When this happens, his emotions get the better of him, and while it doesn't completely cripple him from whatever he needs to do, it usually hinder him.
Home: Jeremy has high hopes for his time spent in the country. Mostly, he's just thankful to be away from home. But in truth, he never really considered his home country home either. But he's doing his best to try and fit in. He's plenty fluent in the language... but he's always worried that being in a new place means he'll mess something up.
Friends: While he may not have trouble with friends that he's made. Making friends, especially just approaching strangers, is a huge hurdle for him. Normally, the experience gets him so worked up that he tries to get away at the first chance he gets. But once he's made friends, he's very loyal and sociable. Of course, if you are his friend, chances are he'll simply gravitate towards you as an excuse to hide from everyone else.

The Potential
|
Strengths:
—Strength Name: Creativity —Description: A huge imagination is a surprisingly valuable asset. It's not just limited to weaving intricate and fantastic stories, and writing fancy words. He's amazingly good at thinking abstractly, and coming up with creative solutions. Even if he's a bit slower to get to an answer, that just means that even more gears are turning in his mind. But he can also think on his toes, and is great at improvising when he needs to.
—Strength Name: Lil' guy —Description: Being shorter than most guys his age has its advantages. He's quick, nimble, and finds it easy to get himself out of trouble if he has to. He can also pass unnoticed more easily than most if he really tries.
—Strength Name: Well-read —Description: He's a complete bookworm, and while that doesn't make him necessarily knowledgeable, he's great when it comes to quick research. Before long, he can tell you everything you would ever need to know about a subject, as long as there's enough books on it of course.
—Strength Name: Outside looking in —Description: Sometimes all you need is a fresh perspective. A complete outsider is as fresh of a perspective as you can get. He's got much different intuitions and insights than most people would.
—Strength Name: A way with words —Description: When he has time to sit and write, and think about what he has to say, he can be a real wordsmith. He needs the time to prepare, but when he has it, he can write stories, speeches and essays that can really sway opinions, invoke emotions, and tap into the imagination. When it's on-demand though, he's still pretty skilled, but nowhere near as good.
Weaknesses: (You must have the same amount of weaknesses as strengths. These weaknesses pertain to you and not your Persona. IE: Physically Weaker, lack of attention span, etc.)
—Weakness Name: Head in the clouds —Description: He's a daydreamer, and will oftentimes lose himself in his own little world. Sometimes, it takes him a bit longer than he realizes to 'snap out of it'. This also makes him a bit of an idealist, and once he gets an idea in his head, he always expects it to play out exactly as he pictured it. So when things go wrong, it upsets him.
—Weakness Name: Shorty —Description: Being little has its advantages, but it also has its disadvantages. He's not so short that it hinders him from everyday things... but it sucks having to ask for someone to reach that top shelf for him, or just having to look up to talk to people his own age. Of course, this also translates into not being as strong as most guys his age either. He's very sensitive about his height.
—Weakness Name: Stranger —Description: He's the exchange student, and as such, he's having some trouble adapting. He did his research before moving, but some things that would normally be obvious simply fly over his head, and he still makes quite a few mistakes when it comes to distinct cultural aspects.
—Weakness Name: Anxiety —Description: He has a tendency to get himself worked up over things. Generally speaking, he doesn't have any more worries, phobias or stresses than any other kid his age, but when it hits him, it hits hard. He will outright panic, either lashing out, running away or cowering in the corner, whatever seems the safest option at the time. At times, this can make him seem like an outright coward, but it's not entirely the case. Just mostly true.
—Weakness Name: Malleable —Description: He just can't tell when someone's trying to use him Sometimes, he just has a hard time saying no to people. He's easy to manipulate, though that doesn't necessarily include changing his opinions. He's gullible enough to believe anyone who seems remotely trustworthy. Of course, if Fear, Guilt, or a girl is involved... he's pretty much putty in their hands.
Soul Bound Weapon:
Weapon Name: Morningstar Weapon Description: A short stick as a grip for one or two hands, connnected to a chain. The chain is in turn connected to a large metal ball with spikes jutting out of it. Weapon Image:
Weapon Attack Type: Pierce Weapon Element: (Leave this blank. Only special weapons obtain an element behind its blows.)

The Background
|
History: Once Upon A Time...: Jeremy Braun's early childhood was fairly unremarkable, for his home country at least. The only thing that made him stand out was the early age he started to read. Before long he had moved on from picture books, and was reading books much more advanced than a kid his age. But he didn't read to learn. He completely ignored anything close to a textbook. He just wanted stories.
The Monsters Jeremy was a total bookworm in his early school days, to the point where he wasn't very sociable. He was more absorbed in the books than he was focused on his classes, or making friends. On top of this, the other kids started to grow up a lot faster than him. He was prime target for bullying. For many years he endured all kinds of bullying, and not just from a single person. He became an outcast from school, which only caused him to bury himself in his books more, as if he wanted to lose himself in his fantasies.
Quest or Cowardice: High School became the worst for bullying. But it was also there, that he found an opportunity. An exchange student program. He could finally run away, go somewhere else to flee the place he was forced to call home, if only for a little while. He had no trouble playing it off as a genuine intellectual desire. A well-worded letter here, an essay there, and a little bit of rigorous language and culture study, and he was ready to go.
A Brave New World Jeremy finally made it all the way to japan. But he doesn't know what to expect at all. Will this place be better than home? Or did he just sign himself up for a couple years of hell? Only time will tell. He can only hope that his own story will have a "happily ever after"
[Note: I am intentionally vague about just what country he's from, and simply implying that he's from a vague English-speaking country. ]
