Chasing New Opportunities

The bustle of people filled the air. The sound was so loud, even with his music player set to full volume he could still hear the drone of chatter. Kibin sighed and hefted his suitcase. He walked up to the ticket booth. He bought his ticket and wandered from the booth and sat down to wait. He had showed up early. This trip would be one way. The academy was closed down, more and more areas were being quarentined, and the rumors floating around were more than nightmare inducing. It simply wasn't worth it to stay around his family. Kibin had tried to convince his parents to leave with him but they were too set in their ways. They simply refused to leave their jobs and home behind. Somewhere in Kibin's gut he knew their fates were sealed. He didn't even have a reason, it was just an instinct. A forewarning of what was to come. Kibin sighed and shook his head. He would have to live knowing he abandoned his home. It wasn't all bad though, he had been offered a scholarship into a new academy as part of the relocation process since the school shut down. It was far away and he would be riding the train for two days but it was worth the move.

Kibin stood and pulled his cell phone out of his pocket. He swiped his thumb across the screen unlocking it and looked at the time, one twenty five. Five minutes till his train would arrive. He shoved his phone back into his pocket and quickly made his way toward the platform. He stood three feet from the yellow line and waited patiently. It was going to be a long couple of days but he could manage. Right on time the train arrived and came to a stop. The hydrolics hissed and the doors slid open. A flood of people exited the train and kibin was forced to wait. As soon as he could he stepped on board and looked for an empty seat. Eventually he found one in the back corner of a car. He flopped down and set his suit case next to him. Sure it was rude but he didn't reallh care. Kibin did not really want to be bothered.
