Boot-Up [Aleksandra's Awakening]

Another night, another Cadet. That's how it usually went ever since the Royal Guard's announcement. Julius was in his desk, perusing the documents and reports collected for him. While Alex simply sat in a desk with his feet on the polished wood of the surface as he worried his thumbs away at some flashy video game in his hands.

It's been a few hours since they the day classes have already ended in Seven Stars. Many students would be at home doing their own business, but not these Cadets.

They were waiting for someone. But certainly, it was just the same old, the same old. Someone would come, give the same speech as always of why they joined.

It's the still the same old shit.

A knock came from the door before Aleksandra peaked in, there were two people in there, this shouldn't be too bad. "Aleksandra reporting in." she said, she reminded herself she wouldn't have trouble speaking so long as she kept it formal. She stepped inside as to not leave the door open then waited by the door for instruction.

While waiting she looked around the room. This place was pretty nice, nicer than father's lab. She then looked over Alex and Julius. One was playing a video game the other doing work, seemed easy to tell on first impression who was the more strict and who was more lax.

She wondered if she should expose her secret to them before they spoke with her or not. Did they already know? Would they accept her or try to dismantle her? An obvious look of worry crossed her face as this thought came to mind.

The knock and the creak of wood gathered both Cadets' attention towards the entrance. As it opened, someone had finally arrived to fulfill tonight's quota. Julius paused what he was doing as he folded his hands together expectantly. But evidently Alex grudgingly turned off his game as tonight's events were going to begin.


Julius knew why, but it didn't hurt to be certain. After all, accidents happened all the time.

Aleksandra wasn't exactly sure how to give a roundabout answer so the direct approach was her only option. "I'm here to apply for the Cadets... I fought Demons back in The Motherland and I think you'd find my skills useful to your group." she said bluntly. This was sure to cause interest on Julius's part, someone who fought Demons without a persona. Granted she wasn't lying, though the fights didn't go well for her.

She didn't want to say anything without being asked, the less about her she gave away than necessary the better. "Father always preferred me to be out protecting people." she admitted. "I hope that I'm able to do that with the Cadets." she gave a shy smile.

Julius raised his eyebrow at her. Someone without awakened potential was able to fight demons? Never mind being unable to fight them, people would never be able to even perceive them at all. How odd. If that's the case, then perhaps she might be one of those. But perhaps she could prove herself. Though Alex rolled his eyes, the Prince ignored him and continued to be courteous. "Then you came to the right place. If you have no other concerns, we may begin."

If she had none, then the ritual will begin. It was something that Julius and Alex have seen time and time again. Every Cadet had to go through it. And Aleksandra would be no different. He grabbed the goblet with his Mother's blood and held it near her. "If you would please, show me your Papillon Heart to me and we shall begin."

He appeared to be calm and assured. The process required the blood to come into contact with her. Normally the Androids like these were manufactured in the Government and only needed to become aware of their own ego to awaken. But because she wasn't built in Endymion, this step was necessary.

When that intimate part was presented, Julius spoke.


When she did so, Julius began to pour the goblet's contents into her where the Heart was held. It would drain itself into the very Core of her sentience. Aleksandra would find herself in immense pain. What would be seen as skin would begin to crack and chips began to fall piece by piece. There was a gaping hole in their face, shedding her previous life to let in the new. The seed that has been inside her mind was being hatched, but with Isla's blood it was been put into shackles. They would begin to see what the world truly was, but in a controlled manner.

As the android stopped thrashing, it was time to see if she passed the test in awakening her potential. Julius and Alex watched the process without much change in their expression. But they were prepared in case the worst ever happened.

Now, it was time to see if a Persona was born from her.

Instructions:

She nodded and exposed her Papillon Heart as requested, as the liquid was poured into it's chamber she had second thoughts about this but too late. It began to absorb and she was taken over by unimaginable pain that she couldn't nullify by disabling her pain receptors, though she tried initially.

Retching in pain that she had never known she manually disabled her audio output as to not let out a blood curdling scream. As the pain endured she collapsed to her knees shuddering as her skin shattered. After the pain had subsided she looked up. "That was an experinece... I'd like to avoid a second encounter with that level of pain..." She requested.

Forcing herself to her feet she closed her eyes to collect herself before her eyes went blank for a moment. In a low monotone voice she spoke. "Papillon Heart entering full spin." as she then closed her eyes and summoned forth her persona, as a large, blue robot looking being appeared. It's hands spun and it's forward canon and eyes both readjusted to assess its surroundings, prepared for a threat to its summoner. "Greetings... I am Axis."

It usually wasn't so easy to watch people writhe in pain. But for the ritual, when you go through the motions, it isn't quite impossible. Yet it was still a difficult thing. Regardless, the ASSW was able to pass the first part of the test, causing Julius to nod in satisfaction. "I can't give any guarantees on that. But there will be an effort to avoid it if possible. Now, show us the extent of your current power."

The Prince drew out a scroll, unfurling it. Before Aleksandra knew it, a demon was drawn into reality.

Cait Sith, Level 5:

Her red eye began to glow as normal when shadows or demons were near. Her face held an almost spiteful expression as she assessed the enemy's stature, not that it'd benefit her. Her armored leggings appeared on her legs, increasing her height by a half foot as she prepared. "Target: Demon, Classification: Unknown. Will assess data after dispatching. Beginning attack!" she stated before her Persona readied itself. "Affirmative."

Flinching from the fire damage she readied herself into a battle stance. "Axis!" she said before pointing forward

"It's my turn now!" the persona said before charging to ram the demon, once in range Axis slammed it's fist down on top of the creature.

Recoiling from the slicing winds she recovered fairly quickly from the attack before leaping forward and striking again, a lunging kick aimed at the torso. "Hostile seems to have the advantage in the magical field, shifting to full physical assault."

Sorry, forgot multi-hit attacks have innate 30% chance to miss. You can treat each hit as missed if you want, since I messed up on coding.

"Target engaged in close combat. Assessment: Physical threat is higher than magical. Orgia protocol on standby." she stated. She spun in a roundhouse kick Aiming for the creature's torso once again. If the kick connected she'd use her other foot to push the enemy back to create distance. "Ammo would be useful in this situation..."
