Queen Bee [Mission Topic]

Talk about rubbing salt into the wounds. While one thing had worked apparently his aiming wasn’t up to par, the bullet fired missing its target completely in the end. It was indeed a sad day. Even sadder when you had not one, but two things rubbing it in your face. The first to do this was his own persona, the winged creature literally facing palming and grumbling some form of complaint in another language as the creature shook its head highly disappointed. Then Henry missed too? Oh goddess have mercy! Why? Just why did this happen? Did they not need to hit the enemy to win? This was....very annoying, but...at least he didn’t feel as horrible now since he wasn’t the only one off his game. A little selfish, but hey it was what it. Despite emotions going through him, Haru kept his face blank of emotions even though his persona seemed to be weeping as he kept his face covered shaking his head even more....Though there were no tears coming at all just grumbling. Sigh. Such a drama queen.

That nonsense aside though, the good thing in the whole matter was that Ms. Vivian help levitate his fatigue by using an item on him that had him feeling more focused than before. “I owe you one,” he would say giving her a small smile of appreciation; however that smile faded as the second bad rub came in.

This one was from Claire who decided to laugh and toss some rather displeasing words at them. The effect of said was curious. While Haru just gave her blank stare that made it hard to tell if he was upset or not about it. His persona would look over at the woman, its eyes flashing red behind its visor. Apparently it didn’t like that one bit, but surprisingly it said nothing back to her as she unleashed her attack and pretty much knocked Henry down. ….They must've really ticked off goddess today. This was no good....

“Get up!” Haru would say his tone commanding, but tense showing he was concerned about his comrades, but the situation left no room for him to baby or comfort them either. As he said the words, his persona would shift its weapon to its right hand as it turned towards the man that had been hit. Raising its left hand it would cast a spell at Henry that would hopefully tie him over for a bit. With that done, Haru would hear Vivian’s words and see her make up for all those misses that had come before. Heh. Pay back was a bitch, wasn't it?

“Nice one,” he would tell her as the smirk appeared on his face. His persona meanwhile would look at Claire as it chuckled and wagged its index finger as it spoke to her. “Tsk. Tsk, dearie. You should not underestimate these humans.” Maybe this was a sign of things getting better…Maybe...

Henry felt the bullet pass right by his head, stunning him...
He had been that close to biting it right then and there.
It was at that moment that he realized just how far out of his league he was.
"Ohhhh boy. Man, that was WAY too close!" he exclaimed.
Then he felt the healing energy pass through him.
"Thanks!" He said.
He returned the favor by swinging his scythe at her.

Haru would give Henry a light nod in response to his thanks, but nothing more as he refocused on the situation at hand, analyzing it quietly in his head.

Goddess was being quite cruel today. On one hand, she allowed some luck to be with them, but just as soon as she gave it to them, she would snatch it away as the woman before them unleashed her own attacks upon Vivian and then prepared to use a rather nasty attack on Henry. An attack that caused the Cadet to pause for a second as he debated about what to do here. He could block some of the blow and attempt to help the guy like he had done with Vivian at a price of course...a price he was not willing to pay again considering their foe was so stubborn to go down. And two...Well let’s face it, he was not trying to be a hero here. Yes, he went out of his way to help Vivan, but perhaps that was simply because it was her lucky day. This did not mean he would be taking blows left and right for people. He was here to complete a job, so as much as one would like to hope that what he did for Vivian was a sign the guy actually had changed from his more colder ways with others to worry about around him that hope would be crushed now as the young man locked his eyes on Claire and raise his gun once more to level it with her.

As he did this, his persona would be surprisingly quiet as it tilted its head to see if this was going to be an actual hit or another disappointment. Well, either way at least the guy looked good, strong, and confident while holding that gun and pulling the trigger….

He honestly thought he was a goner there.
"Thanks!" He said.
"Here! Catch!" He yelled at Vivian, throwing her the bead he had from last night.

Even knowing that back-up was near, it did not lower Haru’s internal tension about this situation. While he was indeed focused on getting the job done and kept a rather blank expression on his face the whole time, he was indeed more concerned about his allies than his expression or actions let on. Take the current situation for example.

He would avoid an attack aimed at him only partially. The part that hit him stung quite a bit, but he still stood. As he recovered from the blow,  he saw Vivi take the blow for Henry and while she was standing, the other was barely holding on. Inwardly, the situation made his stomach twist uncomfortably, but even so the male didn’t seem to bat an eyelash or show outward concern for the others. In fact the only thing that seemed to change the neutral expression on his face into a slightly confused look was when he saw Henry give an item to Vivi rather than attack. An item that seemed to do nothing to aid the other, so he honestly did not understand this move. Why didn’t the other just try to attack instead? Not sure where that logic was going, he’d push the matter aside as his eyes drifted towards Claire. His eyes narrowed slightly as his persona- surprisingly quiet for a change - moved forward to attack the woman...

Good. He had struck her and without those walls of hers, maybe he had done some damage to her. He could opt to dish out more pain to the enemy and in turn himself, but instead of doing that he would look over at Henry as their help arrived.

“Henry, take a break and let Ms. Ghost fight in your stead,” he would say as his persona shifted slightly in its position to perform a healing spell upon himself. Perhaps by changing the field goddess would work better with them. Or at least one could pray things went that way....
