Man, today's shift was being pretty slow. Perhaps it had to do with the recent events taking place, but Noah was rather bored right now, regardless of the fact that he was at a fairly busy place. What a contradiction indeed. Alas, that's how it was, and doing his job didn't really help the predicament at the moment.

''Here you go.''

He would place a glass in front of a customer, before taking a look around, noting that this was the last one he needed to tend to for the moment. Whistling under his breath, he would lean against the counter in front of him slightly, playing around with a coin as he waited until something happened or a new person stumbled by the bar to order stuff. Where's some entertainment when you need it...?

DID SOMEONE SAY.....ENTERTAINMENT?!
(no i didn't really say that when i walked in..)

After what happened last night, it was clear that Gabe felt as if he needed a drink. Gabe wasn't looking forward to passing out at the bar or anything. At the very least, he wanted something to calm him down and soothe himself. It was a pain to tell the truth, Gabe was trying to keep up the facade of being levelheaded when in fact it could be said that out of all the newly made terrorists, gabe was the one that was stressed out the most. "Sigh..."

Gabe took a seat and put his head down on the table, he didnt notice Noah as of yet. "Gallant bartender, i would like a glass of whiskey if you will...." Gabe would say as he edged his card over. Dont keep the tab open, i like to pace myself. "Noah could see that it was in fact Gabes card, but he seemed to be having a rough day.

You get what you wish for, eh? So it would seem as his downtime was cut short pretty fast. And wouldn't you know, it was a familiar face as well. In a way, at least. Noah did remember the guy though, so it counted for now. Even though times have changed quite a bit since their random meeting at that cafe, regardless of how recent it had been. He would pace over to pick up the card, examining it briefly before giving a glance at Gabe. ''Coming right up, mister.'', he'd say with a bit of amusement in his tone. ''Got tired of Cafes already?'', he'd ask afterwards as he moved over to shuffle with the bottles on the shelves behind.

Gabe knew that voice. "Ehh?" after looking up, Gabe straightened up immediately. "Ah, Noah.... sorry about that, i wasn't ignoring you or anything. " Gabe would then look around the establishment and look back to Noah with a questioning look on his face. "You know, i wasn't really expecting to run into you today, this is a surprise for me as well. If you are technically still on duty , can you still share a drink as well if i'm the last customer?" Gabe was asking because he wondered if Noah would drink with him. If not, that was ok as well, Whiskey has a good job of giving him comfort at times.

Noah would stay silent for a few moments until he picked the correct bottle, moving to grab an appropriate glass on the way. He would glance towards Gabe meanwhile though. ''I found it amusing that you didn't even notice me anyway.'' He had no reason to be truly bothered by this. What for? He would hum to himself as he prepared the drink. ''I take it in stride. This is a public place, meaning I could meet just about anyone I've already been aquainted with before. That's what this kind of job brings.'' Bothersome? Not really. It was actually an interesting form of entertainment to get to see people you know drunk or the like. It's not a thing you see everyday, is it?

He would only give a faint smirk at the offer. ''You're the last one for now. I still have a while to go, so that'd be a no. Besides, I have things to do today. Can't be high for that.'' Not the right day to get drunk, nope. He would set the glass of whisky in front of Gabe. ''Here.'' With that, he would go back to leaning against the counter, watching the other. ''I can stay around for company while I don't have other orders though.'' That much he could do.

Gabe took a sip of the wiskey and then placed it down shortly."Quite hard, can i get some ice?" "= Gabe would say, asking Noah to put some ice and possibly water it down just a tad in the process with the existence of the ice. "Fair enough, i am but a guest at your establishment, i'm not here to cause you any sort of trouble of any kind. I only wanted a bit of companionship is all, alot seems to be on my mind today. " Gabe would then take another sip of the whiskey if ice was placed in, if not yet, Gabe would wait until it was placed anyway. "Before i complain about my problems though, how are you with yours? Everything alright?"

''Sure.'' He would move away to get a hold of the cold substance. ''Why'd you come here alone then? Bringing someone with you would be an easier way to get company than asking people who shouldn't.'' Wasn't their meeting a coincidence anyway? If he hadn't been around, who'd be the designated company? Maybe the guy was just speaking into the air though, because if he really wanted to have a drinking buddy, he wouldn't leave it all to chance. That said, he would come back around with the ice, plopping it into Gabe's glass. ''Besides job being somewhat boring today? I'd say I'm good.'' Maybe a little more busy than usual, but that wasn't really an issue.

I only asked you because i knew you, it's not like i had any intention of bringing someone with me. " Besides, surprisingly, Gabe still didn't feel; too comfortable drinking around people he didn't know that well. It was convenient that Noah was there, which was the only reason as to why he asked. Though, Gabe was perfectly comfortable drinking by himself if it was required of him to do so. " Shaking his drink around, Gabe took a sip once more and placed it down firmly. "Thats good to hear, no trouble is a good result, right?

''I feel honored you hold me in such high regards after one meeting.'' Noah would half-smirk as he watched Gabe from his current spot. ''You a loner, or just prefer getting drunk alone?'' It was honestly hard to tell with this guy. He seemed to be giving somewhat mixed signals when it came to this. Regardless, people usually went out for drinks in groups, so it was a little uncommon to see a guy go at it on his own. ''I wouldn't call it no trouble, but it's nothing I'd complain about. Sometimes you have to play the game to get good results. Nothing happening is a bore anyway.'' No trouble is naturally safe, but does it amount to anything?

"Hmmm? Well, convenience has a way of dressing up alot of people in alot of different ways. You can only imagine countless scenarios unrelated to mine, where someone out is made to be a hero just by being in the right place at the right time. Moods fluctuate, from not wanting the company, to wanting it after from entering the complex. It's all the same.....probably..." Well, who knows? That theory worked in reverse as well. Though, the question of Gabe being a loner wasn't exactly answered in the end. " To be quite frank, i dont have an answer for that. But since you are bored, how about a trick? Interested?" Gabe would say as he placed a deck of cards on the table. " Not sure if you grown tired of my theatrics after one taste, but i think the true crime of the world is as you say, bordeom...

Noah would whistle lightly as he took a sideways glance at Gabe. ''So you're saying you just do whatever? Don't you need some sort of commitment to get something truly done? Circumstance alone wouldn't make you a true hero, for if it was just some sort of luck, you wouldn't really know how to do that kind of feat again.'', he would pause for a bit, taking a short look at the other people nearby. ''Besides, what does it matter that others get a different scenario? You are you, regardless of what goes on around you.'' Isn't it a slight waste of time to compare everything simply out of principle?

''Can you do something else than cards? Flashy tricks do indeed get old with time. Say, what makes cards less boring than anything else I could do right now?'', he would pose a question after a brief moment of thought. It's not like the guy could really read the future or the like, so what were the tricks truly good for? The moment passes as fast as it comes.

When you become committed to something it turns into a" live by the sword, die by the sword" , Reference in a sense. If you become passionate about something enough, does it make you much of an extremist for it? Especially if some people dont agree what you are committed to? I'd like to think that my actions towards these things are "Fluid", one foot in and one foot out. You need to give yourself some space to move, to maneuver..." Gabe took another sip of his drink and swirled it around wit his free hand after he finished shuffling.

Don't make people into heroes Noah. Heroes don't exist, and if they did I wouldn't be one of them. " That was a rather dismissive tone about the true heroes bit. "Flashy tricks getting old? quite disappointing when i made this my livelihood in a sense. Other people walked in, im sure you can always serve them, chat them up, get a tip. Thats the skill of being a bartender, charisma and serving good drinks. Youre good at what you do and what you know. I can only say the same for myself, thats all there is to it.

''You can have a commitment without being an extremist. And there will always be people who disagree with your views, so what would you do? Give up everything because some people don't like this and that? You choose your own life, not they. Being open ain't bad, but having some set goal helps you know? Can't just be dipping your toes in and out all the time.'' May be good for testing things out, but you can't remain all over the place forever. Or you'll get crushed by those that know what they are in for and don't hesitate to get things done. You can always have space to maneuver around even with a clear goal in mind.

Noah would snicker faintly. ''Is there a reason why you see yourself in such a bad light?'' Do heroes exist? Who knows, but you can always make a mark in history when you try hard, whether you get named a hero for it legitimately or not. ''Do you get something for it? After all, there is no tangible gain from watching a card trick. It's like watching a movie over and over again. Most people will start losing the interest in it eventually. Doing that for a living sounds like playing a game with fate.'' He seemed to be mildly amused by this conversation however. Games could be fun when done well.

"Oh? What are your set goals then? Mind sharing some of them with me if they are as basic and... life changing perhaps? Join class 0? Hit the lottery and retire to haiwaii? Sorry if i'm assuming at this point, but from what i heard from past conversations,you either want to hit it big or aspire to live an average life, as if they want nothing instead. Just how much is "Too much", in the sense of a middle ground? " Gabe would say questioningly. For someone like Noah, what was his goals in life anyway?

"Negative light? No.. Sometimes i see myself as an unwavering gentleman. At other times, i see myself as a high-functioning sociopath, the shade of light depends on the time of day...and whose looking. Isn't that the same for everyone?" That last question was a hard part. " Tricks, sometimes... as a street performer... more about the cards at a casino.. and overall.... lets just say I'm traumatized. The game is always on, even when you arent playing..

Noah would shrug lightly. He wasn't about to spill all of his motivations to a guy he happened to randomly run into a second time, as talkative as he was willing to be about certain subjects. Play a game, yes. Be too careless, not really, unless there was some gain to be had by doing it. ''What do I know though? I play my own game. Don't care much about the limits of the middle ground.'' Was there a need to keep a check on where you fall on the line?

''Yet, you can't truly be all, can you?'' And calling yourself a sociopath hardly sounds positive for the matter. Then again, Noah didn't care all that much, as he didn't know Gabe enough to make claims on what the guy was himself. He would smirk. ''That it certainly is. Sometimes, our entire lives are a game. What's so traumatizing about card games though?'' Or was that comment completely unrelated? He wasn't exactly sure.
