------------ :: Fish are for the Birds :: ------------
Two siblings rode the ferry heading towards the man made island that would be entertaining them this early morning. Though, the massive amount of people on this ferry was rather annoying to the elder brother, his younger sister seemed to be excited they'd get to see something they never have. The two had been separated from their mother in the massive crowd, but did not panic in the least. They had already arranged where they'd be meeting if they were to get separated, but the the two decided to have their fun alone for the moment. After all, they were teenagers and in that age that craved for some sort of adventure. Unlike when they were kids that thought their backyard held this adventure, they were in a certain mindset that put the "unknown" as that adventure instead.
When the ferry finally came to a stop, people rushed off the boat and onto the island with little care for children or themselves. The older brother couldn't help but picture them as sheep at this point. It was like they were lining up for a slaughter, though that'd mean he was also joining them for this very slaughter. It put a bad taste in his mouth that made him shy away from the crowd and towards the railings that protected one from falling into the water. His sister, on the otherhand, seemed as fascinated as the rest. If he hadn't grasped her hand he would have most likely lost her to the tide of the human wave.
After a few minutes of regaining his composure, he pushed his glasses upon the bridge of his nose and followed his sibling into the crowd. The two vanished as another suddenly arrived on the island themselves...

Jack had appeared on the island, accompanied by his Father and Mother. The boat they were riding upon had a few technological issues on its way to the island, but luckily his family was the first choice to be brought ashore by a small row boat while the main ship was dead in the water. The other families would seemingly have to wait to arrive. It was just another case of bad luck for others and outstanding luck for himself. And though his parents seemingly also had this luck; they lost it the moment their valuables were washed away by a certain wave while on the row boat. Let's just say this morning was rather hectic for everyone but the young Jack.
He made sure to take his Father's hand as they traversed through the busy crowd. He had never seen an aquarium before, and to be honest he was feeling sort of anxious to get there. Jack was a child that didn't get out much because of his certain condition. His parents kept him locked up throughout the majority of the day to simply keep his specific traits at bay, but today was an exception. Something amazing was happening and this was something no one should miss. Jack wondered why his parents had such a change in thought, considering his condition could ruin this entire 'reveal' of some sort. But perhaps because he wished to come so bad, his luck may have influenced their very thought process to include him on this expedition. No matter, he was here to have fun in every meaning of the word. Though, the meaning of the word was subjective, considering his fun was probably not so fun to someone else.

Unknown Appears
"Hehe.. Heehee.." A young woman sat on the warm stone railings overlooking the docks where the people made their way onto the main front of the island. She had a device in her hand that appeared to be a tablet, and her finger slid across the screen as if scrolling through numerous pages of a website or report of some kind. The woman giggled and hummed to herself as her amber eyes periodically shifted up to look towards the building and then back down towards her device. Whispers could be heard around her, though she never spoke a word; and it was as if something else was by her side that was unseen by the human eye. Whoever, or Whatever this woman was it was easy to tell she wasn't normal. There was like a shadow a stayed upon her body, making it hard to get a good look at her. It was almost like the feeling of a dark presence appeared behind you, telling you not to turn around. Your heart wished to keep forward, but your instinct wanted to force you to look.
She was the same way in a sense...
The crowd of people paid her no mind, but it was almost like they were alerted to her presence aswell. No one entered her small area, and people deliberately found ways to keep their distance from her even without noticing it. Was this the power of her own intimidating aura she gave off, or was it by chance? The question really had no answer. All that was to be sure was the young woman continued to giggle as she scrolled through the pages on her tablet and focused on the building before her. The whispers grew louder and louder... And then there was silence.
Her golden eyes took notice of the young boy with his family...

There was like a small tingling going down Jack's spine, as if something cruel and unusual was focused upon him. His round eyes scanned left and right before falling down the dead center where no one stood, except a woman. He tilted his head in confusion as she looked at him, and for some reason he felt himself drawn to her. The young boy released his Father's hand and took his first step towards the woman. Almost every fiber of him being told him to stop, and it felt like his skin was crawling the closer he came to her. Another step forward, and he felt short of breath as if he were to pass out. What exactly was this feeling he was receiving from her, and why did it entice him so? Was he punishing himself by throwing himself to her intimidating aura? Was it truly intimidating or was it intoxicating? This chaos that seemed to sprout from her like a flower.
Before he knew it, Jack stood before her with round eyes and a thin smile. He looked up to her on her perch, and would give a sort of bow a Prince would give to their Princess. One he had seen in various movies he had watched, though little did he know this was not an actual greeting people did to one another on a normal basis.
"Hello, my name is Jack. This may sound rather strange... but for some reason, I cannot help but be drawn to you. Is that strange? Am I a freak?" The boy looked up and tilted his head in a questioning way. This was not something someone would just ask in a normal conversation. Though he had a feeling even his definition of a normal conversation would be what this was. There was something peculiar about her. From her golden eyes, to her green hair, and even to that delicate smile. Jack had not met many people in his life that stuck around him for long. He wondered if she'd change that tradition and actually entertain him in a conversation, even if she looked so busy on that strange tablet. He also felt that it was strange people were deliberately avoiding her without noticing it themselves. Was it the intimidating aura she was sending out that caused this?
Was he like him? Could she not control her urges and caused others to be affected by them? No, he felt she did this on purpose. Like she relished in enjoyed this feeling of power she held over others. That was an assumption from Jack but there was no proof to say he was right or wrong otherwise. Atleast, not until she acknowledged his presence even further, and ushered out her first words. Oh, what would they be? He felt anxious. Perhaps too anxious for something as little as a 'Hello' or 'Good Day'.

"...A walk into the lion's den. A step into disaster. Is that what you want?" "Is that what you'd desire..?" Two separate voices greeted the young man who had made its way infront of her. She spoke while cycling through her tablet, though the whispers he would have heard had no source of their own. The woman did look up from her device to peer downward towards this one called "Jack". Those round eyes looked promising to her, and the bow he did gave her such a smile. To think someone had approached her when others usually avoided her was quite a laugh in itself. It showed abit of bravery. The questions that came after his introduction warranted a giggle from the nameless woman. Was this how kids spoke today? She had long forgotten after her sudden coming into power.
"Yes, you are a freak. But aren't we all freaks? Freaks that hide in the daylight but come out at night. The madness we keep on edge, waiting for a shift like gravity to give it alittle push. Hee.. Heehee.." Unknown began to giggle more as she looked pass the boy and towards the building again. Her tablet began to vibrate suddenly, and it caused her golden orbs to focus back upon the screen. "Tell me, Jack. Why are you here today? Have you come to enjoy the festivities? Do you even know what this gathering is about or did your parents drag you here uninformed?"
The whispers continued in his ears like sweet poison. They were incoherent and hard to understand, but they did keep him focused on her voice. The voice of the woman people were wired to avoid subconsciously.

The whispers rung in his ears, scratching at his brain as if they were trying to claw into his sanity. Who was this woman? She never gave him a name in her response, and he didn't want to push for one. For some reason, he felt he was in danger for some reason while also feeling like he was free to do whatever he'd like. What did he want? What did he desire? He never thought about those two questions. Jack tilted his head and close his large round eyes. His brain couldn't muster an answer as of yet. Though he felt quite relaxed when the mysterious woman called herself a freak aswell. The way she spoke was strange, but also enticing. As if she knew more than she was letting on. It also didn't explain the whispers in his ears that were disguised behind her honey dipped words. He found himself falling into a slight daze for a few seconds, and the only thing that brought him back was a pinch he delivered to his own cheek. That snapped him out of the ramblings of these whispers that he could not entirely understand. But now came the question she delivered to him after her explanation of madness. Did he know why he was here? Well, no he did not.
"My Parents know, but I do not. Do you know?" Jack ran a stitched finger over the rim of his lips as he pondered. What was this all about? Was it related to her tablet? To the whispers in his ear? He could understand why the people avoided her subconsciously. Anyone close to her who didn't have their own identity would most likely lose themselves to this aura she released. It was like standing on the edge of a cliff with a knife to your back. He felt if he took another step towards her, he'd go spiraling down into the very madness she spoke of. However, if he attempting to step back, he'd get a blade through his back. It was a strange situation he had found himself in, and he knew he wouldn't be able to exit it alone. Sooner or later, his parents would call for him and that'd be his escape from this grasp she held over him. For now, he had to endure this symbol of chaos that sat before him.

Unknown gave a smile at the boy's answer. It was something she had figured even before he gave it. After all, what interest could a child possibly have with such a reveal? It wasn't as if they could use it themselves. She decided she'd educate the boy before making her next moves. After all, there was nothing he could possibly do that'd sway her from her mission. A little leak of information would not change anything. So she slid her finger down the screen of the tablet and the device dimmed before going quiet. Even the whispers seemed to fall silent, and the world around them almost seemed dull and numb. Everything around her seemed wrapped in darkness, as if an invisible force was keeping anyone from interrupting or overhearing just what she was about to save to him.
She leaned forward towards him with a thin grin and slowly raised a hand to his cheek. That innocent smile turned into a toothy smirk that belonged to a monster not fit to wear the skin of a human being. Though, Unknown was surely human, she simply danced on the thin line of becoming a monster. A monster that looked to devour the very essence of sanity and plunged it into the abyss of madness. One look into her eyes would tell anyone this, however; the young boy before him would lack any sort of bravery to do such a thing would he? If he did, there was a chance his mind would not be released from her grasp. His soul would not be pure as it currently was. It would be a small stab of impurity that would continue to grow in his mind like corruption simply from a glance that close.
"Of course I know. It is why I'm here in the first place. A little birdie told me this reveal would have something that could act as my gravity. Something I could use to push this world into my own personal playground. This is what I desire: what I want. I will slaughter anyone who goes against this. After all, I have the power too. I'm the most special." Her words were clear, and the sweet poison that was roped within the whispers now came from her very lips. Unknown meant every word, even if she gave no fine details to what exactly was being revealed this day. However, there was one thing to be sure. This clawing sensation at Jack's brain was not just crafted from words, but also from the invisible being that currently stood behind him. If he made a simple mistake... One simple mistake... This purity he held could become tainted by this woman. The woman that would plunge the world into true horror by the end of the night. Was she truly human?
"Your parents are going to die tonight. Will you be the one to kill them, or will I?"

Jack's eyes shot downward as the woman closed the distance from them. Whether it be some sort of instinct, or just fear, he kept his eyes low towards the ground. There was definitely something unnatural about this woman. He thought they were alike at first, but now he knew for sure that she was nothing like him. He caused disaster with innocence while she did it for fun. And when her hand touched his cheek, he was sure not to look her in the eyes. Getting pulled into that madness that she seemed to hold so dear. Was it even possible to escape her clutches, now that it appeared the world around them was growing numb and cold. It had perhaps only been a few minutes since saying his first words to her but to him it felt like it was an eternity. Like time had no rhyme or reason to be involved in their conversation with one another.
She spoke of slaughtering anyone who would get in the way of her fun. She spoke of having power, and being the most special. He didn't understand any of it, but did that explain the strange whispers he heard in his ear? Perhaps if he weren't so threatened he'd piece two and two together. But what took him for a spin was the final question presented with him. Would he kill his parents or would she? Were they going to die no matter what he did? Jack continued to look downwards, away from the woman. He wished to shout neither, but his throat was dry and lacking any sort of spit.
"...Neither. I don't want either of those things to happen." He replied with a dry tone that was close to a whisper. Honestly, he was more surprised he was able to reply at all to this sadistic woman. Why did she want to kill anyone? Was this reveal going to be the end of everyone that participated in this event? Jack felt sick to his stomach. Perhaps it was just her presence, the constant whispers, or just the idea that this place was in danger. Regardless, he raised a hand to his mouth as he gagged. Boy, this was a big mistake approaching this woman.

How cute. Oh how adorable. The answer the young boy gave her made the woman give her usual toothy grin. He was in for a rude awakening. No matter how much you wished for something, that didn't mean it would happen. For example: His parents surviving what was to happen this wondrous day. Unknown decided she had had her fun with the child. He was beginning to meek away anyway. Was he too frightened to look her in the eyes and take a drink from the poisoned flask of her soul? Time began to move around them once more as she removed her hand from his face.
"Poor child. Afraid to dance with the devil? It's not unexpected. Only a few can truly endure the Crawling Chaos." She spoke with an easy tone as she stepped down from the stone barrier she sat upon. Giving one last smile to the boy, she walked pass him and headed towards the crowd. The potent aura around her would fade as she took one step to the next. Soon, it was gone, and so was she.

Jack held his breath until the strange woman was completely gone, and her potent aura with her. What was her deal? Who was she? He never got her name, but at this point he didn't even want to remember she existed. Were there really people like that who abused their power? Abused it all for this Crawling Chaos? It confused him to no end. Well, one thing was for sure, he'd have to avoid that woman at all costs. He also needed to get his parents out of there before this big reveal, or she really would kill them. He believed every word she spoke.
The pale faced teen made his way back towards his family. The problem was, would they believe someone like him? They would always write him off, considering how socially awkward he was half the time. For once he hoped they believed him, but in the back of his aching head he knew they wouldn't. There was probably nothing he could do to save them at this point.
