Work or Fear?(Melia Shadow Self Awakening and Reaction to the Calamity)

It was the afternoon of a very windy day in San Malarus. Windy enough to cause a good amount of people to stay indoors, yet there were still many people that came in and out of stores and going about their daily lives.
One such store was a very popular restaurant, Lorin, that almost always stayed busy during the afternoons through the students that frequented the place.

The restaurant itself was a nice, homely looking one with it's light wood paneled walls that led up to a cream colored ceiling. The walls have paintings of famous spots on the islands, including one of Lunapa Island, a large tree filled with tropical birds was the center piece.

The three to four servers working here were exhausted and agitated after the post-school rush, well, all but one of them.
It was a red headed teen that, even though she's tired, somehow kept a smile on her face as she worked. She is wearing the required waitress uniform which included a cream colored, long sleeved shirt and brown, knee long dress.

As someone new walks into the restaurant she walks over with a menu and says "Hello there! Welcome to Lorin, how many are there going to be?" as a bead of sweat slides down the side of her face, she quickly wipes it away with her sleeve as she adds "I'm Melia and I'll be your waitress today."

But as a storm almost immediately appeared above the islands, defying all logic, the glass in the front windows shattered and a loud voice was being broadcasted... Something about the islands inhabitants needing to stay indoors. Most of the people in the restaurant remained inside, most of them were panicking and the rest of the waiters pulled everyone into the cellar to protect them.

Melia on the other hand, she ran out trying to see what was going on. Creatures that she's never seen before were flying through the sky... in fact there were millions of different kinds! "What's going on!?!" Thought the red headed girl as she watched in aw....

"This feels familiar... Almost empowering to the highest degree!" Came a voice from inside Melia's head as waves of power started to build up and start to cause pressure in the back of her head, and pain started to come from her old wounds as the swarms followed a pattern not unlike the flocks of birds that frequented the island...

What else would she call them but demons? The creatures didn't look like any shadow she knew of... And some looked like the very definition of the word demonic.
"Give into your desires, Pet. Let me handle this. Most humans only disgust us, why would we wanna save them?" came Melia's voice... her inner voice.

"No, I'm not some kind of creature that feeds on suffering." thought the young shadow, battling it out in her own mind "We both swore that we wouldn't cause any problems for the humans and live in peace..."
Melia's personality, ever since her shadow took over, has always been divided. Almost like a split personality, but they manage to deal with each other.
Somehow Melia's personality from before becoming a shadow was mostly intact... The shadow didn't know how this happened ether.

As the two fought it out inside her head, she was oblivious to anything going on around her as the two walked, subconsciously, towards a source where the sounds of screams and unearthly growls were coming from.
