The Biography

Place of Residence: Varies. Mostly a traveller. He either stays outside or finds a hotel room to stay at wherever in Ueitawa he feels like at the moment.

Part Time Job: Occassionally takes up a job of being a cashier at one of the stores in Ueitawa.

Appearance:

Standing roughly at the heigth of 6 feet (183 cm), Sheryl is on the taller spectrum, yet not too overboard for a male human. At normal, it cannot be seen that he is a machine, and he resembles a fairly casual young adult. That said, he may be a bit off, as he appears more Chinese, even if he travels around in Japan only. His complexion is on the pale end, and he is not the type to get a tan, even if in the sun for a long type. Well, he is not really human, is he? He sports medium long messy raven black hair, which he generally keeps tied in a ponytail, along with crimson red eyes. His eyes may however appear a bit darker from a farther standpoint as he has slightly smaller pupils than the normal person, making the color harder to pick out when not engaging in a staring contest.

His style of clothing is generally fairly formal, even if he would always say he dislikes ‘dressing up‘. That means he will not be seen actually wearing a suit and a tie like a proper gentleman, but nor will you catch him in casual jeans and a t-shirt. The most usual combination is a pair of black pants, some type of black top and a black overcoat, finished up with black boots, or occassionally normal shoes. Black is not exactly his favourite color but it is a force of a past habit for him to wear that color. He does own other colors as well, but rarely puts them on. It’s just so unusual. Parts of his past still stay with him after all, as much as he likes to say he wants no more ties to it.

Personality:

Two faced. That would be a good way to put him. Or just say that he has two sides to him. One he displays to the public eagerly, other that he prefers to keep low until he knows a person well. In casual interactions, he comes off as a friendly guy, trying to be on good terms with everyone he meets. For him, making enemies right off the bat is simply inconvenient. That said, he will generally come of as nice, and fairly easy to get along with. He likes to live life on his own terms, and is willing to go ahead and try everything once, If he does not enjoy something however, it is a pain to make him do it again. With his friendly demeanor, on the other hand, comes the fact that he does it mostly to avoid getting in a mess. He enjoys the freedom he has at the moment, and is determined to make it stay that way. And as pleasant as he is, he is slow to trust people. He likes to think of himself as very independent and working with others is far from a priority. That, and he is a lot skeptical about humans. He may know a lot from what he has been taught, but he has his own views about humanity, which make him a bit stiff on some standpoints.

Sheryl is all for action and getting things done as they come, but is not always mindfull of others, unless heavily reminded. Well, inside of his head at least. He does try to look reliable, but his perceptions often make him not so. He seems to be more bent on pursuing his own goals, until someone bonks him on the head and makes him reconsider. Not an easy task, however. But, he is good when you want a casual companion. That he is never against. More serious matters, however, are a bit tricky in his case. It’s often a what if, when you want him to cooperate with you. Even if it is something he would gladly take upon by himself. The task is usually not the problem, having to team up is the bother.

The Potential

Strengths:

—Strength Name: Sharp Reflex
—Description:
Having originally been ‘used‘ as a bodyguard, he is well trained in zeroing in on anything that is happening. After all, when your job is to protect someone, you have to be quick to notice incoming danger. He is very good at keeping on alert and does not get caught by surprise easily.

—Strength Name: Arrow Master
—Description:
While people were insistent that he perfect his hand on hand skills with his ‘proffesion‘ as to not give off suspicion (carrying a weapon around is totally not obvious I tell you), he was never enthusiastic about it. For some reason he seemed to have developed an interest in archery, and the one friend he had at the place he previously worked at had offered to teach him. Sufficiently to say, he picked the skill up very quickly, and is extremely efficient with a bow and arrows as of now.

—Strength Name: Friendly Face
—Description:
Not wanting people to pick up on his general distrust of them, he developed a useful habit of giving off a friendly aura. He is good at casual interaction and most tend to say he is fun to hang out with. He is fairly okay with anything, from being courteous on demand to fooling around in a childish manner. Just to keep everyone at bay. No one needs to know better.

—Strength Name: Swift Hands
—Description:
Along with picking up his archery skills, he found it a good idea to be quick at it. What’s the point of being able to shoot well, when you’re as slow as a snail? It took him a while, but with some persistent training he managed to make his hands cooperate as fast as he thinks, which can be useful in more ways, not only his shooting skills.

—Description:
He does indeed enjoy his freedom. On the other hand, he is not the one to be rash about thing. Try out something new? With pleasure, but he is capable of keeping a calm exterior in face of situations that would normally evoke an instinctual reaction of fear, panic, or any heated emotion or expression. In fact, he actually has the guts to shake his head at overly dramatic and hotheaded people at times. He can’t understand some humans who act like that, really. But, he does not judge them because of that. It just escapes him-

—Weakness Name: Not a Happy Camper
—Description:
His major problem. Could also be called trust issues. He is somewhat averse to working with others, not pleased with letting anyone possibly mess something up for him. He takes a long while to believe in someone and it shows. It is severely recommended to have at least a Rank 4 Social Link with him, if one wants to be capable of persuading him to help in a less than casual situation. Any less than that, and you’re pretty much guaranteed a refusal on those terms. The higher link, the easier it should be to gain him as a teammate.

—Weakness Name: Jealousy?
—Description:
He is not a human. And he knows that well. Whether on purpose or not, he has a tendency to compare himself with actual human beings, and how they have it easier in terms of relationships. Him? He is a machine that is supposed to work for them, isn’t he? That is what he‘s come to detest, and even if he may not admit or realize it, he is often jealous of humans that can easily choose what they want, without being ordered around. That, and other things a robot does not generally have. This only fuels his general lack of trust for them, among other things.

—Weakness Name: Orders are for the weak
—Description:
Trust is one thíng. The other is...He values his independency a lot. Which is why he dislikes people trying to tell him what to do. For christ’s sake, he can make a decision by himself, can’t he? Just because he is not human, does not mean he has to jump at their whims. That being the case, he is hardheaded when it comes to that. While he does not desire to be a leader himself, he is uncomfortable with the idea of being bossed around. Just peachy. He can be convinced, but it takes the right words and phrasing to accomplish so.

—Weakness Name: Wet? Never
—Description:
One thing that makes him glad he is not human. Not really having to drink. Yes, he knows well that even though he is a machine, he is moreso waterproof, but he has an irrational fear of water. Inexplainable, but it is so. He will refuse to come near any water surface, and gets anxious if he can’t avoid being close to any wetness. Actual contact? Screw it. I don’t care, just get it away from me!

—Weakness Name: Eager. Too much.
—Description:
He was made to fight after all. He does not neccessarily seek it out, but when it comes, he is far too eager to butt heads with someone. Often a bit too much. He complains a lot when someone tries to hold him back, and often even ignores it. ‘Retreat‘ is a word he does not approve of. When you fight, go all out. What’s the point of sussing out?

The Background

History:
Originally constructed as a bodyguard for a way too paranoid nobleman, Sheryl lived a fairly boring life for quite the while. Because really, back then, Shadows and such were not really a threat. In all honesty, he probably was not truly needed at all. But, a scared rich guy with the money for it? Of course he’d rather have a machine that can outlast much more than a normal human bodyguard, regardless of the fact that it was pretty much pointless. That was why, for years Sheryl took on the role of a proffessional bodyguard for a stuck up man with no back bone, as much as he came to dislike the job in time. One, he did not even have a name at start. Why they called him by a number, he never knew...it probably had something to do with production and all. That and all the way in which it was ridiculouss. The job could have been done perfectly by a regular human, as he barely had to do any protecting at all. In truth, he considred himself more of a fancy dressed butler at the whims of his master, if nothing else. It was tiring, and frustrating most of all. Those in the mansion he lived at knew well of what he was, and he was periodically reminded of it. They were rarely nice to him. Why, when he was a simple machine? They seemed to forget that his kind of machine was capable of feelings as well.

It was so annoying to be treated that way. His only luck was the one person that took him as a normal person. Ironically, it was the rich dude’s daughter. He spent as much time with her as he could, and she was his only friend, as well as the only person he had ever fully trusted. She taught him several things beyond what he originally learned for the pursposes of his job, and he was grateful for her help. She, however had her own ambitions in life and could not stay around forever. School work and all that jazz. Her being busy made him want to live freely as well, and the more time passed the more he just wanted outta there. Eventually, he just decided to do as he wished. Screw being a lap dog like this. Being trained to be what he was, it was not a hard task for him to run off. Please those noblemen and lazy butts focused on money had no chance against someone like him. Easy. The name he uses, was actually the name of his female friend’s dog. He did not want to use a number as his name, and they boths started with the letter ‘S‘. Convenient enough. Since then, he has travelled around, seeking out something that he would truly enjoy doing, even if it does not make him human. Recently, he has been staying around Ueitawa, making his explorations there....
