Standing at 6'2" and weighing about 175 lbs, Retuo is a man of a fairly slender build. His eyes are a surprisingly striking amber color, which is presumably a side effect of his bond with the demon, his natural color having been less vibrant originally. Most of the time, he also has amber/orange make-up applied around his eyes. His hair is an ombre shade, going from a dark brown to a lighter amber-esque color. He usually keeps it pinned in a ponytail so that it does not get in the way, but he can occasionally be seen wearing it loose, in which case it easily reaches almost below his lower back.

He cares about his appearance, and is thus often seen wearing quite an intricate get up, the dark brown and golden colors matching well with his visage. His style typically consists of dark pants, a beige shade shirt, sometimes a sleeveless vest on top and a coat with scale patterns on it, complete with a pair of gloves. He has a slight penchant for jewelry, and tends to wear an earring, as well as occasional gem styled pins on his clothes. Though naturally, in the wilds out there it's not always efficient or easy to dress big, and he is no stranger to wearing less or more casual clothes at times, depending on situation. He by all means prefers clothes that cover most of his skin however, and is unlikely to be seen in shorts or anything of the sort.

Personality:

Retuo's general demeanor is on the more calm, and reserved side, not finding the need to be overly gregarious in any way. Despite that however, it is to be noted that he is a surprisingly respectful and kind person, even though he does not tend to go out of his way to be more social than a situation absolutely requires of him. In his opinion, it is not about the facade and flowery words, as much as it is about what a person actually does, and he certainly considers himself a man of his word. Of course, he does not actively attempt to be hard to approach, and can even show that he does have a sense of humor, but he dislikes dishonesty and the idea of acting over the top just to do so, or to attract people. It is not his natural inclination to be that way, and therefore he has no interest in faking it, unless it were to be a last resort option.

Thanks to his more relaxed and detached temperament, he's often the person who veers more towards taking the time to observe and analyze a situation, rather than jump into a fray quickly and get heated about things. Most would consider him a level-headed person after getting to watch him for a while. Even though he is a more solitary person by nature, Retuo does like lending his assistance to other people and is quite willing to lend a hand to those who need it, as long as they aren't begging him with ulterior motives in mind. He's by no means a big optimist though, and will not hesitate to tell it like it is at the end of the day.

While it may not always seem that way from the perspective of a casual observer, the demon had chosen his host for a reason. Given his personality and the kind of person Retuo is, an affinity towards earth-based magic is perhaps not all that surprising. Sometimes, the best defense isn't the most obviously offensive option there is, after all.

—Strength Name: Keen Observer
—Description:
The combination of Retuo's preference for analysis and his eye for detail makes him good at assessing situations or his surroundings and picking an appropriate way to respond or act. While not infallible, he's certainly more skilled at it than a reckless adventurer would be, and it is also one of the reasons he usually takes on Scout-based tasks for the other Vagrants wandering around.

—Description:
Retuo is not an easy person to rile up or break the composure of, and is typically capable of staying calm and collected even under stress or in more difficult situations. He is by no means fond of big surprises or unpleasant changes, but he will nevertheless take them all in without falling into panic or falling for an obvious taunt.

—Description:
Committing any and all information to his memory is something Retuo is good at, and it certainly aids in his observations as well. For example, he has the capability to recite back something he's heard or read without fail as long as the contents of it were not outrageously long, for there is a limit to what one's brain can manage to truly process on spot.

—Strength Name: Reliability
—Description:
If there is one trait that a lot of people appreciate about the man in these hard times, it's his commitment to being responsible and reliable, and he takes great care to follow through what he promises, and at the very least not make 'guarantee' claims on what he does not know he can for sure provide. A faulty advertisement is a very disappointing one after all.

—Description:
Strange as it may be, one of the side effects his bond with a demon had was him taking on the reptilian trait of being more coldblooded. To an extent, at the very least. He handles cold temperatures better than an actual reptile would, but he does nevertheless not get along with the extremes and would be more sluggish in arctic environments.

—Description:
His temperament can be a double-edged sword for some, and his more no-nonsense and down to earth attitude can sometimes grate on those who are raring to go into the heat of things without pausing to deliberate. While he does not think that a heroically oriented mindset is bad in and of itself, Retuo doesn't tend to see eye to eye with those who ascribe to it so heavily that they forget to consider where their actions might take them and if they are willing to then shoulder those consequences.

—Description:
In spite of his more rigid views on some matters, the man likes to do his utmost best to remain polite and respectful rather than blow on someone in anger or frustration, which does unfortunately manifest as some body tension, often leaving him with some stiffness and aches. Not the most healthy thing, but he seems to think it's worth it.

While it is not always noticeable immediately at glance, Retuo can be quite particular about the way he likes things to be done, and is also the type of person to always think there is a way to improve what is already there, making him a bit of a perfectionist from time to time, and maybe hard to satisfy even if he does not always voice it out loud.

—Weakness Name: Moral ambiguity
—Description:
Retuo's stance on the state of the world can be a harsh pill to swallow for some, because while he is very much understanding towards the struggles humanity faces in the wake of the destruction, he will also not claim that the demons and shadows are by default in the wrong. That would be similar to stating that a wolf has no right to hunt a rabbit, simply because it endangers said rabbit. The world is a bleak place for sure, but he's frankly not passionately for either side or worldview. All of it has a place, and this belief can sometimes cause both sides to give him a bit of a side eye.

The Background

History:

Retuo's earliest memories are that of travelling the outside lands with his mother, and not much else. His mother was a very stubborn woman who had gotten it in her head that the Vaults were just a way to keep people contained for some ulterior motive, and had thus struck out on her own, taking her son with her. To this day Retuo doesn't even know what happened to his father, as she has always refused to speak on him, and he had been rather young at the time his mother made the decision to sneak off and never return to the Vault she used to live in. The life out there was not an easy one, and it was perhaps pure luck that he was a fast enough learner, because for all her talk, his mother wasn't the greatest at the art of survival. It was frankly a miracle that they made it through the first months.

Unfortunately, her own mindset was her downfall eventually, and she fell to the wrath of the shadows, leaving Retuo to fend for himself when he was around the age of 16. It wasn't long after that when he became a target of the man conducting experiments on people and demons, because a youngster wandering on his own was by all means a perfect specimen, and while he wasn't entirely unskilled...even he knew it wasn't something he could just make his way out of easily.

What he went through there is not a time he likes to speak on, but he is not above admitting that it had its uses for future survival. These days, he mostly spends his time going around to learn more about the state of the world, and lends his hand to the Vagrant groups he happens to encounter on his way. He had considered visiting the Vaults at some point, but he is aware that they might not take well to someone who kind of reeks of demon tampering, and thus stays out of their premises for the time being....
