**ALERT!** After a rather eventful evening at Maksim's Party, three teenagers seems to have gone missing. The doors of Vault Olympia have been breached due to a to this day unknown assailant, who sabotaged the doors locking systems, allowing demons to make entry. Thanks to the excellent defensive capabilities of the Vault's Security drones, the Attack was put to an end, and the invading monsters fled to the outside. Right now, the Doors of Vault Olympia are currently open, allowing any survivors of the fall to seek shelter within the Vault's safe halls. What Vault Security officials think of this development remains unclear as the Chief of Police and Security of Olympia refused to leave a comment. This is Rianara, of Olympia news, signing out.

The site is entering a new era as our team of mods works tirelessly on updating old and obsolete information threads and links. Over the Summer, we aim to make many changes to the forum, including writing a comprehensive beginners' guide to help new players accommodate to the combat and other rp systems in place here.

Be sure to constantly check the update thread for any changes to the boards. You can find it ->Here<-

The Girl who Never knew Best Empty
PostSubject: The Girl who Never knew Best   The Girl who Never knew Best EmptySun Oct 13, 2013 11:04 pm

Vera was practically running laps in her room. Well, pacing laps back and forth as she wrote in her notebook about the various events that had recently happened in her life. It was insane how this world unknown to others actually existed, even if she did not want to believe it. Her pen was moving a mile a second as she jotted down everything, and even things she didn't remember herself. Now with Laverna by her side, she could recount everything through the Persona's memories. For once the violet haired girl felt confident in herself, and her abilities as a person. A smile came over her face as she closed her book and placed it in her drawer. Walking over to a window, she'd open it to feel the spring breeze she had certainly missed. With winter over, this meant she could enjoy herself alittle bit more. She had gotten a cold recently while shopping out with Tsurinai-senpai, but now she felt better than ever with this new wave of power and the changing of the seasons. It felt almost like yesterday when she had awoken in that strange world and had to fend for herself for survival. Now things were certainly looking up for the young thief!

Vera suddenly began to wonder if Gabby-chan had anything different going on within her ever since she awakened to her own power. The violet girl did get an invite to her party, but Vera didn't really like anyone else that was there in that strange fog town. She wasn't sure if it was jealously that Gabby had made friends with others so easily, or just the fact the other people annoyed her. Shaking off the thoughts, she removed her cellphone from her desk and made a quick call over to Gabby-chan. She'd wait till the other female  either picked up, or it went to voicemail. No matter what happened she would begin to speak. "Hey Gabby-chan. I'm sorry for being so distant recently. I was wondering if we could meet up today? Come to the Yoroshiku bridge, I want to show you something." Hanging up the phone, Vera would go to her closet and begin to get dressed in her spring outfit. Since school was out today, she didn't have to wear the standard Kizuna Academy uniform like all those other days. Putting on a loose top that hung down off her shoulders and putting on her usual skirt and knee high boots, the first year student would be down the stairs and out the door. On her way out she did run into her aunt who had asked her where she was going. Vera responded with a simple "To meet a friend." before running out the door and closing it behind her.

Continuing her job, the girl would grab her bike from the front lawn and hop on it with a running start. From her house she could see the bridge crossing over town clearly. With a warm spring day like this, it'd be easy to look at all of Yoro from there. Vera wondered if Gabby-chan had ever had a good look of the small town before. Her classmate had lived in Ueitawa longer than her, but if memory served correctly (even though it hardly does) then she lived in Iwaigodai. In that smog covered place she probably never had the chance to take a good look over a skyline. With this in mind the violet haired girl biked to the bridge where she could set up shop on the walkway so she was out of traffic.

It took a few minutes to get there, but once Vera did she placed her bike on a railing and looked over the railings at the town of Yoro. From there she could see the Carnival, and even the Aibo river that ran all the way to Nokawia on the other side of the region. Yoro wasn't very popular compared to the other places in Ueitawa, but it was quiet and she did enjoy it. Maybe because she had time to think to herself out here.

The Girl who Never knew Best Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Girl who Never knew Best   The Girl who Never knew Best EmptyMon Oct 14, 2013 5:41 pm

Gabby’s day was like any other person’s, most likely. She was in her room, lying on her stomach, reading a book on war strategies throughout history, with her legs spread out behind her. The only thing she couldn’t call normal was the thing constantly bothering her in the back of her head. She appreciated having someone, something, to take to, but Hippocamp was not the thing she had in mind. It always seemed like he was angry and shouting at her. She wasn’t even reading this book because she thought it was a good idea. It was his, because she had no idea how to fight. Anything to shut him up would do really well right now.

As if a god was answering her prayers, her phone began to ring. She placed a bookmark at her page and closed the text. She expected any number but the one that showed up. It wasn’t that she wasn’t happy to see Vera’s name, it was just that she had never called before. It wasn’t unwelcome, so Gabby answered the phone, “Hello? Vera?” She listened in silence as she was invited out. With only a moment’s pause, she would answer, “Sounds good to me. I’ll see you at the bridge.” She hit the red button on her phone and put it into her backpack, which seemed to be the only thing, beside her hat, that went everywhere with her. She slung the bag unto her shoulder, went to the front of her house to put on her shoes, and ventured outside.

Even by foot, she would have no trouble getting to the bridge within a few minutes. It was the only thing connecting Iwaigodai to the outside world, after all. She ran her way to the bridge, seeing Vera’s figure standing alone, looking over the world below. She began to slow down as she approached, “Hello, Vera.” She stood, looking at the violet haired girl, “How have you been doing?” She didn’t say anymore than that. She was genuinely curious, but it was Vera who called her here. She would have to wait and she what she wanted to say.

When Vera heard the familiar voice, she pushed herself from the railings and let her hands go behind her back. Being so high up on the bridge made her hair blow wildly in the wind, but she didn't mind as her eyes were focused on Gabby. The Russian transfer student had a smile on her face while looking at her "friend". There was a bit of silence as Vera found the words to say, but once she found her inner resolve she would squint her eyes and looked out towards the view. "So, for a few days I honestly thought that meeting we had in the other world was just a dream. I constantly asked myself why I would dream of you with others, while forcing myself to only watch from afar. When I found out that dream was reality, it made me feel even worse about myself." Vera folded a strand of hair behind her ear as she looked back towards Gabby. "To be honest, I was jealous of you. You seemed to be able to adapt and get along with so many people, while I'm incapable of such things. When I saw how well you and that blonde one got along, I began to despise her. What made her so special that you two were so close? Dumb, right?" The violet haired girl gave a nervous laugh as she turned and leaned her back against the railing. "..But not everything bad came out of that dream. I saw a different side of you then. Someone who's reliable and strong. Even though in our first meeting you were so soft spoken, I could tell you had the potential to be stronger than anyone I've ever met." Vera's face would become slightly red as she'd move her hair behind her ear once again. It was almost like a nervous reaction. "...You're someone I could trust my life too. A true leader. All these negative thoughts that plague my mind are always relinquished when you're around. I think it's because you have an aura that draws people to you, and I seem to be caught in it aswell." The violet haired girl pushed herself from the railing and walked up to Gabby. Extending a hand for a shake, she would give her friend a smile. "I think we were all given this power a reason. But even then, whenever you need me I'll always come to your side. You're my one and only friend, Gabby-chan. I wouldn't care if the world was against me if you were on my side. Because we're friends, and partners. I want to be someone you can be proud to call a friend." After the handshake, if Gabby accepted or not, Vera would place her hands on her hips and look towards the town of Yoro.

How did that one saying go? If you were a snake, and you devoured countless people and then told someone you love them with that same mouth, would they be able to tell you the same? With Vera's profession, she was sure she'd bring nothing but trouble to Gabby if she got her friend involved. Though that didn't mean they couldn't train together and get stronger. "So Gabby-chan, I've noticed this strange power we received has the potential to get stronger and stronger. The more we use it, the more it learns. One of these days, we should train together." Was this a desperate attempt at getting close to this friend of hers that she really knew nothing about? Maybe. Vera worked in mysterious ways, especially when she was not in her comfort zone. Being someone who didn't really enjoy the concept of friends, this was something new to her. What were they supposed to do? Was there an official document she had to sign or steal for them to be officially friends? It was like a whole new world to her. She'd bend her back and rest her head in her arms as they were perched upon the railing. Her face was still slightly red, trying to get over the embarrassment of pouring her heart out, which was usually always closed to herself. But now with Laverna with her, she felt confident enough to speak her mind when she had the chance.

The Girl who Never knew Best Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Girl who Never knew Best   The Girl who Never knew Best EmptyTue Oct 15, 2013 3:37 am

Gabby couldn’t help but watch as the wind played around with Vera’s hair. It was the most unruly thing she had seen in a while. It made her smile. Or, it would have, if Vera’s words weren’t so serious. As her concerns were voiced, Gabby would interject at moment. When she would bring up that the blonde could get along with others, she nodded, “It’s not dumb. I was only able to do that because I knew you, Lori, and Cain already. I was actually nervous around the others, but I was convinced it was just a strange meta-dream for the longest time. Actually, I wasn’t entirely sure it was real until the monsters showed up. By then, it didn’t matter what my opinions of them were. We were in trouble and we needed to work together.” Her sense of self-preservation wouldn’t let her introversion cause her to get killed.

She decided to let Vera finish talking after that. It was strange being complimented in such a way, but she wouldn’t argue. What others saw in her was up to them, even if she may have disagreed, “I’m actually not that good of a person,” she could give her side, however, “I don’t know how many people are drawn in by the me they see everyday, but I can’t imagine what makes people like her.” This, of course, also meant Vera. She gave a quick nervous laugh before continuing, “I don’t mean that I’m different when no one is around. I’m pretty much the same, just less talkative.” Honestly, she was the best around Vera and Lori when it came to talking. Any other time, and she was a minimalist. Even when talking with the newly acquired voice in her head, “I just don’t understand it.” She never once sounded like she was pitying herself or playing a sort of victim. In fact, she spoke calmly and quite confidently.

She looked down at the hand extended to her and took it in her own. It was strange. For how boldly she had just spoken, her handshake wasn’t as strong. She attributed that to the fact that she was very afraid of what everything up until now meant. Persona inside of them, shadow inside of literal hell, even that contact they all signed; it both terrified her and filled her with excitement. Despite that, the conviction her voice never wavered once, “And if the world became your enemy, I suppose it would be mine as well.” Her grip became firm at these words, “Because, we are friends.” They then released their hands. Vera would move her hands to her hips and face Yoro. Gabby would look in the same direction and hear the suggestion to train together, “Yes, we should. It would only make sense to get stronger along side the people you care about.” She looked over quickly to see the purple haired girl’s face grow red. She decided to change the topic a little. Her arm reached out pointing at the skyline, “It’s beautiful, isn’t it? It’s not everyday you get to see this sort of thing. Or, at least not for me. It’s good to see it. Even better when you’re not alone.”

The Girl who Never knew Best Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Girl who Never knew Best   The Girl who Never knew Best EmptyWed Oct 16, 2013 6:48 pm

Gabby would stand by her side if the world was against her? Vera felt the heat come to her face as she moved her head down so her hair covered the redness flushing into her cheeks. When the conversation moved onto how the view was, the violet eyed girl would move her hair behind her ears and give a small smile. "Yes, you're right. Iwaigodai is always so gloomy with all the construction going on there. If you ever wanted to... take some time away from that place.. you could stay with me and my Aunt.." The girl mumbled over her words before looking to Gabby-chan and waving her arms. "I-I mean if you're ever looking for a place to stay if home doesn't work out, or something like that! I'd have no choice but to h-help, you know?!" It was almost like Vera was attempting to convince herself now. Placing her hands on the rails, she'd give a smile. "Well, either way maybe I should show you around Yoro someday? Have you ever been? We have a year round carnival that's pretty cool, though I don't think I've ever been there myself. Or atleast I don't remember. But I'm sure if I go with you, I'll never forget it." Vera turned to look at Gabby. "I'll cherish the memories we have together. The good and the bad."

Vera gave herself a nod before her cheery disposition turned into more of a quizzical one. Raising her hand to her chin, she'd begin to think to herself. "Actually, Gabby-chan, recently I had an... expedition into that strange world. I was called there, probably by the same entity that gave us the power in the first place. Laverna lead the way, and I basically just followed." The young thief looked off to the side as she crossed her arms beneath her chest. "When I went into the strange world, I saw a few others already there. Laverna did not recognize them as my allies, so following her lead, we attacked them. Apparently they are our enemies. I've not entirely sure why, but the Persona wanted them gone. I think they are a threat to our existence, and our safety aswell." Vera placed a hand on her hip as she raised the other and fiddled with a strand of hair. "So I attacked them. Three of them escaped, but two of them weren't so lucky. They should be gone for good, as they threw them off the ledge. Now I fear those three are still a threat, and I probably won't be able to hunt them all down myself, so I'll tell you what they look like so you can be careful. If they truly are our enemies, there's a chance they may attack you aswell. The first one looked..." Vera would describe the Persona-Users she ran into in Limbo with great detail. She had written down their appearance once she returned home, all in her journal. She couldn't trust her own memories, but the ones in the book were always accurate. The thief told Gabby-chan their height, their hair color, their overall appearance and everything she could have seen so her young friend could have a good description of them in her head.

"Watch out for them, they are not our friends, Gabby-chan. Telling by their age, there's a chance they also go to Kizuna Academy with us. We'll have to be alert and take them out before they get us. Luckily I wore a disguise before encountering them, so we may have the element of surprise. I won't let them live if there's a chance they'll hurt you. I'll execute them all." The violet girl stepped forward and took Gabby's hands in her own as she bowed her head. "They won't lay a single finger on you, Gabby-chan. I promise! I'll get rid of anyone, friend or foe, whoever hurts or upsets you. You can count on me."

The Girl who Never knew Best Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Girl who Never knew Best   The Girl who Never knew Best EmptyWed Oct 16, 2013 10:31 pm

Gabby could only stare as Vera moved her face down. Had she said something wrong? She didn’t think she had. It was then that the purple haired girl offered to let her stay over, if she needed a place to go. She would smile and nod, “I’ll keep that in mind, but I may never come over. I’m waiting for something back home, and I’m afraid I’ll miss it if I decide to leave for an entire night.” Little bursts of time were okay, but nothing too extreme. She really wished she could hang out with her friends for that long though. Going to a different town for a day though was alright, “I’ve never seen Yoro, but I’d love to see it. Especially if they have a carnival.” She took Vera’s hands in her own. Her eyes seemed to sparkle with excitement as she spoke, “I’ll just have to make sure you don’t forget this time around. We’ll take lots of pictures so that we have proof that the two of us were there. Okay?” Then, she let go of Vera’s hands.

She was expecting this conversation to only be happy and not contain a shred of seriousness. How wrong she was. Vera diverged into a discussion about the time she had gone into that hell all by herself, “You went in? Are you alright?” Well, obviously, if she was standing there as if nothing had happened, “Please tell me you knew how risky that was.” She was worried for her friend’s safety, even if this was after the fact. Her worry didn’t calm when she mentioned that the people she ran into were enemies. She didn’t say anything as Vera described what they looked like. Instead, she committed the descriptions to memory. Only when she had an idea of what they looked like did she speak up, “I doubt they have a reason to attack us, especially if they don’t know who we are. For now, I’d act normal in public and take them down when we have the upper hand.” For her, that meant getting stronger and making sure she knew how to handle these people.

Vera took her hands and bowed her head. She promised that she wouldn’t allow Gabby to get hurt, “Please stand up straight.” She didn’t like that her friend was bowing to her, “You don’t need to protect me that much. If you’re busy trying to defend me or exact some kind of vengeance in my name, you’ll lose sight of defending yourself. I can’t have that happening. I have a Persona, the same as you, and he can fight.” She would lift up Vera’s head if she hadn’t done it of her own will by this point, “It’s my job to stand by your side, so I will make sure to stay safe, if that’s what you want. I can’t promise to sit back and do nothing, but I will make sure to take extra care. Just, please, do not forget that I am also able to fight and protect myself. Worry more about your own safety, especially if you go down there again.”

The Girl who Never knew Best Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Girl who Never knew Best   The Girl who Never knew Best EmptyFri Oct 18, 2013 6:24 pm

Well that hurt. It was one thing to keep visits scarce but to say you may "never" come over, it put a real damper on Vera's current mood. It became obvious when she went back and leaned against the railings while turning to look the opposite way of Gabby so the other couldn't see her face. She believed it was a stupid suggestion anyway, and maybe that she deserved the rejection. After all, it wasn't like they were best friends, right? This was only about the third time they spoke outside seeing each other in class once or twice. Who was she kidding? In reality, Gabby probably wanted nothing to do with her and was just being nice. It was obvious Vera was just interjecting herself into the young girl's life, yet she was too blind to notice until now. How stupid of her. To be a thief you needed to have wits. She had none whatsoever apparently. The remainder of the conversation went through one ear and out the other as she remained rather quiet and distant. The spring time breeze did feel alot better than the cold air she had to suffer through when she first arrived in Ueitawa, but there was a bitter taste in her mouth.

Vera zoned out for some time without really listening, however she would finally speak after several seconds of silence. "Is that so?" Only three words spoken without any kind of emotion or enthusiasm put behind them. It was bad that she was thinking in so much at one time, especially when it came to her habit of being pessimistic about everything. It was always worst case scenario, and this was no different even with Gabby. For some reason she was becoming irritated. "Tell me, what purpose do you think you have with this power now? Do you think it's supposed to make you more important than you really are? In reality, we're all just small specs in the primordial soup of life. Just because you have this strange power, don't think you're anything more than just a first year student at an Academy in the middle of nowhere. You'll be nothing more than that." Her tone was surprisingly alittle more harsh than she ever had been before, especially when referring to Gabby. She still did not look towards her classmate either, as she made it appear like there were more interesting things to be observing right now. In reality, Vera was the human one. Being subject to her emotions; both the good and the bad. All in all, she had grown irritated and annoyed at not only Gabby's response, but of herself for being dumb enough to even care. It was scathing.

The Girl who Never knew Best Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Girl who Never knew Best   The Girl who Never knew Best EmptySat Oct 19, 2013 12:58 am

Aithne’s eyes began to burn as Vera’s nature turned harsh against her. She wasn’t sure if it was anger or sadness making them feel that way. Vera wasn’t yelling, but the intention behind her words was very clear. Why was her friend angry at her so suddenly? She wouldn’t let her voice waver, even though she was feeling a bit pained by Vera’s words, “I never said I was important. I know that I’m one of billions upon billions of people in the world, and just having something that separates me from other people doesn’t make me special.” She could see that the purple haired girl was looking away, and was probably not listening to her anyway. She would still go on though, “But this has nothing to do with that. I’m just trying to make sure that someone I care about is safe and doesn’t go rushing in without a plan and a way to defend herself. I’m only asking that you think about your own safety instead of worrying about me. It may not make me special, but this Persona makes me able to fight.” She was beginning to lose her composer as she spoke, “Vera,” she would forcibly turn the girl to look at her if she was still facing away at this point, which was a tad strange since Gabby stood two inches shorter, “I’m just trying to make sure my friends stay safe. I don’t want to lose anybody else. Not for any reason.” By this point, she was trying her best not to let the anguish building inside of her show on her face. What had she done to make this person so mad at her? Was she wrong to be concerned about somebody else? She didn’t know.

The Girl who Never knew Best Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Girl who Never knew Best   The Girl who Never knew Best EmptySat Oct 19, 2013 10:53 am

The pessimist continued to let the words pass through one ear and out the other, even though she regretted what she did say. She had convinced herself that she was a horrible friend, especially if she got so emotional over such little things. Life was so much easier when she watched it from afar, but then she got pulled into this new world of interaction. She was out of her comfort zone, and for once she wished she could return to that time before when she was nothing but a figured behind the crowd. Atleast then it didn't hurt so much, and her self destructive nature didn't effect anyone else. Her eyes wandered over to her bike, the means of her escape from this otherwise painful situation, but before she could leave she was grabbed by Gabriela and forced to turn her way. Vera's eyes did look at her for a few seconds before moving to their corners. "Don't touch me, Gabriela. You're right about one thing, we should look after ourselves." Though the thief really did want to change her tone, she couldn't bring herself back to being how nice she was earlier. She raised her arms to free herself before walking over to her bike. The fickle girl had enough of this painful experience. It felt as if she was ripping out her own heart and for the stupidest reason. Why was she so upset? "This is goodbye, Gabriela. Try not to die." The thief would not look back once as she began to wheel her bike back towards Yoro. Reaching in her pocket and removing her phone, she'd look out over the bridge before giving a nonchalant toss so it went hurling over the railing. For the next few weeks Vera would be absent from school, and all contact with her would be cut-off.

She really didn't know what was best, and perhaps she never would learn. Vera hadn't even noticed her friend had said "anybody else" possibly meaning she had lost someone in the past. The previous reserved thief was becoming a slave to her own emotions.
