Says the masked JEST member as they approached the metallic fence. It was dark and quiet at this time of day in the Sunlake Palms Church. The night was not young, for the evening services has already ended. Through their mask, the eye-less Jest examined the clearing past the gate. There was no one there, it was a better time than any. He addressed the star of this clandestine show with a bit of brevity. "If our info's right, they'll have something going on in the chapel. Your best bet getting inside to your objective. You'll have to figure out how. Remember, no one must know you were here or any sign that you were here."

They moved their back against the metallic rails while folding their hands together to boost the other up and over the barrier. "Here, let's get you over."

When prompted, the Jest taking on tonight's task would be lifted and hurled over the fence. It wouldn't be hard to land safely on both feet with their kind of background. Up ahead would be the Church as the eye-less-masked Jest gestured towards its double-door entrance after landing evenly side by side with their peer.

Quietly they would approach the door. Like outside of the fence, the area was dead of life, save for the trees that quietly swayed under the breeze. When reaching the door, the Jest examined carefully its lock and knob before giving the O.K. sign to the other before opening the door and leading them in. "Chatter's saying door's unlocked til midnight. I ain't seein' anything wrong. Make this a quick job with the USB they gave you for this. I'll be waiting outside, just in case if these "holy men" decide to come back. Good luck."

The mask of strange animals would approach the eyeless one that was present, listening silently to what was said by the other. Dante going into the Inferno without a guide? How fitting was that for this lovely night? Regardless of such thoughts the masked being would simply nod before moving to get boosted over the gate. Landing easily on their feet, the strange mask would look around the area before following the other to the door that was unlocked. The other gave instructions about the main door and said they would wait outside just in case company arrived. Giving a final nod, the strange mask would move from its spot and begin to walk forward.

The path the strange mask was on was straight without turns, so the walk was a breeze until a door presented itself. Tilting its head the strange mask would move towards the door careful and test to see if it was locked or not. It was locked. With an inward, tsk the strange mask would dig through a pocket and pull out a small tool to help with the issue at hand...

With a bit of effort, the lock would finally let loose. The door can be opened to reveal several branching paths of hallways...

The strange mask’s work would be rewarded as the door opened with ease after a few moments of messing with it. Making sure to leave no trace of the lockpick, the mask would move forward into the next room looking left, then right as it took in the many paths it had to choose from It could go forward, but it was curious about another path for now and so moved to its right to explore the hallway. As it came to the corner, it would pause and peek around the corner looking for guards or any other signs of—oho? A camera eh? Well that was unfortunate, but not something that was going to stop the strange mask from doing what it wanted.

Lowering itself closer to the ground a bit, the figure would dash across the floor before making a quick turn into a room that was out of the range of the camera’s view. Looking around the area, the mask would see if there was something of interest in the room.

As the intruder safely passed through the lock and the camera overseeing the stretch of the hallway, they would chance upon a marbled statue that seemed to be enshrined with the number of lit candles and smaller pews to kneel in worship. The Pieta sat before them and there was a bronze plaque nearby the statue with a message.

We carry our cross with the Lord.
For we shall uphold our duty as he did.
We fall and suffer with him, enduring shame.
As we too are nailed on our cross,
we shall expire and be entombed in His Name.

The strange mask would cup a hand under its chin as it read and contemplated the words it saw on the statue, but it wondered if that was all to this piece that was tucked away. Just to make sure its effort wasn't wasted, it would approach the statue and carefully look around it for anything hidden or special.

There does not seem to be anything special of the statue. It was made of marble as noted of its chalk-white appearance. But this and the plaque does seem to hold some kind of symbolic significance... Perhaps in a way they may not expect.

There was nothing to more to find, but the strange mask did keep in mind the words and statute it saw. So then time to move. Moving from its spot the strange mask would make its way back to the corridor and right before it reached the camera's view it would dash across the hallway once more and continue a way up before slowing its pace as it entered a large room. Looking around the mask would look to see where it had landed itself this time.

Entering the chapel was not difficult by any means, especially when it was empty. Being dark and in such a large space, it was easy to feel at unease. There was an altar at the back of the space where the leading priests of the morn could run the daily services. What else the intruder can notice are the several bronze plaques above each of the confessional doors. Some of the plaques are blank and others seem to depict the path of Jesus to the Golgotha, the Stations of the Cross.

A shiver would run down the strange mask’s spine as it entered the large and dark chapel. The eyes of the strange mask would glance around before proceeding further in to explore. It took note of the alter and the confessionals that were scattered around. Remembering the statute from before the strange mask would drift over to one of the confessionals to see what it was all about.

As you approach the confessional, it was empty. You could find a switch that seemed to change the paneling on the plaques above the confessional door. The switch appear to be set to off at the moment, but the other choices depict several of the Stations of the Cross.

The strange mask would tilt its head at that strange wording there, its mind clinking and clanking as it thought back to the statute it had seen and then to its knowledge of these things. Hmm..There was a button here, but not yet. It would not push the button as it instead moved to the next confessional booth.
