[NPC Shibuya] Two Teens And A Moped [For Uravity]

A decently tall teenager with messy, silver hair and a casual smirk on his face steps off of his moped moments after his passenger decides to do the same. His focus is on the Tokyo Strip, the most populated part of Little Tokyo. Normally he has trouble even finding a spot to park, but for one reason or another that isn't the case this time around. Perhaps the general public is already home, tucked under a blanket and settling in for the night?

Kenneth seems all too accustomed to his surroundings, however. He made this trip a few nights out of the week in order to make a bit of loot on the side. And why would he not? The employers around this neck of the woods only demand a couple of things: A vague sense of loyalty and no ties to the Cadets. Paak has enough of both to come out of the scenario just fine, most of the time.

The student looks back to Noriko with a smile after surveying their surroundings, the briefing that he had given her up to this point containing truth but not all of the finer details that she probably needs. "Alright, here we are. Word around town is there's a job up for grabs here that might be a lot easier for someone with.. our set of skills, y'know? It should be a breeze, but if at any time you don't feel comfortable being here, say the word and we'll scram. No questions asked." Kenneth looks back to the reserved girl and puts the kickstand down on his Moped while he waits for a reply.

The arms currently coiled around Kenneth's hips will remove themselves and glance around as her comrade did the same. "That was pretty simple." She expected some sort of challenge to arriving. There's a pensive pause. "I don't think I've ever been out this late before."  Her attention shifts to Kenneth, as he'd speak!

Noriko's expression briefly switches to earnest confusion. "Someone of our set ofbski--" She'll gasp, then cover her mouth with both hands. She's all wide-eyed now. Given some time to consider, her hands will lower. Noriko has already come this far, anyhow, and the experience has been anything but bad, so-far. "A-Alright, let's do it," She'll reply, her tone slightly shaky.

With the busy nature of the Tokyo Strip, normally nothing worth noticing wasn't going to happen. But to defy all expectations of the mundane motions of daily night life, there was a loud ruckus behind the two. It was hard to hear at first with the hubbub of the people, but even that began to subside slowly as some decided to crane their necks at the direction of the noise.

"GET BACK HERE! YOU'RE UNDER ARREST!


It was easy to see a pair of police officers were running and that they were viciously trailing after one man who held a shit eating grin. It looked like to be some sort of hooded man. It seemed as if he relished in the chase to much of the officers' chagrin. No one was stopping him as he breezed through with surprising speed.


While one would expect he'd run past through anyone, however, his hand grasped around Kenneth's wrist as if to pull him into the chase as well.  But it was up to the boy if he wished to take part as well...

The commotion is noted by the grey-haired, part-time hooligan. In fact, it may have been just the thing they came for. As far as he knows, there is a direct correlation between the amount of police officers chasing a sketchy individual down the crowded streets and the amount of potential profit that could be made from getting in good with them.

Wait.. that can't possibly be right. Noriko's temporary traveling partner spends the next few seconds trying to come up with a witty equation for the scenario, only for the man in purple and black to close the distance between them! If that is not enough to shatter the illusion of math being important and snap Paak to reality, the grabbing of his wrist certainly is.

Somehow, it is also enough to get the boy to tag along for the escape from the police. Could be a lapse of judgement, or just his adrenaline kicking in. Either way, two strides are all it takes for the teenager to start running.

"H-Hey! I-- Noriko, follow us on the moped! The keys are still in the ignition! It kicks back once you go over ten mi--" By the time his voice cuts off, the duo are already a good ways away from the shy girl that had tagged along, heading God knows where.

Kenneth is a terrible escort.

Attention gradually shifts over into the direction of the commotion. Her eyes go wide as she notices the hooded man suddenly darting through the masses and grabbing her guide. She'll reach after the grey-haired student, but far too late. A mixture of mild distress and shock form on her expression. The teen's words are a little too late to respond to the various actions, as well.

"W-- I-I'm not feeling comfortable anymore!" That's the trigger word for them to depart, hadn't it been? The options menu in the interface that'd allow her to cancel the mission?
Well, it's a little too late for that. There seems to be no 'cancel' option. Darn you, real life. Her guide's been kidnapped, and now it's apparently her duty to follow. Or become entangled in the various masses-- yeah, the former's clearly the only choice for the asocial computer technician.

Noriko's gaze flickers over to the moped. She can feel her breath quickening. Apparently she'd have to overcome her extreme inexperience, and quickly. A-Alright, Noriko. You saw Kenneth do it earlier, right? Just copy that! The teen thinks to herself. Climbing onto the moped, she'll put the 'pedal to the medal' so to say, in the hopes of following after Kenneth and the mysterious figure. Full throttle! Various squeals and yelps will escape her as she presumably passes by both people and obstacles with novice driving mechanics, at best. "This isn't anything like the video games!" Through sheer determination and hope, she'll transverse the grounds and keep the two within her sights.

With the police hot on their tail, Shibuya deftly traveled through the packed crowd to his attention. Slowly, but surely, the duo were beginning to lose the police. The troublemaker made a sharp right turn into an alleyway while dragging Kenneth with him. This was where Noriko would have to park her moped elsewhere if she wanted to follow after them. The space was tight, after all. As the two swept into the alley, Tricky Fingers grasped upon the knob of a backdoor of a building to open it before flinging himself and Kenneth inside. Of course, the door closed in the nick of time before the cops could even find them. Especially when it was so subtly hidden in another corner of the alleyway. At this point, he waited for the sound of movement and radio chatter to fade while holding a finger to his lips at Kenneth's direction.

Maybe they hadn't seen his face. The two had run pretty damn fast, after all. The grey hoodie that covered his head had flown back in the wind to rest lazily against the back of his shoulders, and the blue ball cap atop his head seemed crooked. Regardless of his swagger being temporarily displaced, they made it. Not that it mattered how good he looked anyway, given the fact that Noriko had been left behind. He might have hell to pay later, so it is important that he makes the most out of.. whatever this interaction might become. Two crystal blue eyes settle upon the stranger's form and eventually up to his eyes, trying to get a proper look at him.

"Why did you.. Why did I?" The teen stumbles over a few phrases and eventually finds on that sticks. "What were you running for?!"

Noriko awkwardly begins to slow down, gradually, upon noticing that they'd turn into an ally. She had enough common sense to not also rush into said ally while the police were chasing the two, especially given the fact that she was so far behind. It wouldn't be a good scenario, and so, the technician will park the moped on the curb and hope for the return of Kenneth.

Mildly distressed, a hand reaches into her backpack. A mobile gaming device is revealed, and, Noriko rapidly gets to work. She can only hope to erase her presence in the mean time. "AFK." She states while opening the gaming device, in order to enforce the ideal that she was currently invisible.

The noise outside began to subside and it was clear that the police finally retreated with another failure on their side to capture the famed 'Sticky Fingers'. He seemed awfully smug of his success and began to beam in a smile at Kenneth.


He pulled out a wallet and showed it to the boy before pocketing it. The man took a look at Kenneth and his lips curled once more into an amused one this time. "You're a timid guy, aren't ya? Well, not really, if you actually came here with me this far. I'm Shibuya. You, you into thrills like me?"

The teen relaxes a bit, his shoulders rolling back to his normal posture as his heart beat returns to a somewhat normal pulse. If this guy.. 'Shibuya' wanted to rob him, he probably would have done it by now, right? With this thought process in mind he is able to shake what anxiety he had on his person and have a proper conversation.

..Well, as proper a conversation as you can have inside of a seemingly random building with the thought of his tiny tech-geek friend struggling to drive his precious moped around in the back of his mind. "Shibuya, huh? I'm Kenneth.. most people just call me Paak, though." His eyes trail down to the wallet in Shibuya's hand. "..Mind breaking me off a piece of that? I'm gonna have to buy my friend dinner or something to make up for this." The assumption is that Kenneth's reply might answer 'Sticky Finger's' question indirectly.

"Kenneth. Paak, sweet name. Pleasure to meet you, buddy. And sure, you can have some quid if you give me your number," he agreed readily with his fingers sifting through the wallet's contents. After a bit of counting here and there, the man grasped out a few bills enough to buy a few meals in this city and handed it to him. It's not like he cared that much about money, but it's nice to have.

His number? It sounds like the worst idea ever on paper. But this may have been the reason he came to Little Tokyo in the first place. Meeting with new people means new opportunities, right? A hesitant huff escapes his lips as he pulls out his phone. Sure. Here's my contact info." Once Paak's number is taken down an ear is placed to the door. The sound of the police is not his focus, however.

"Are you uh.. mostly into snatching wallets? Or do you know how to make some real quid too? I'm asking for a friend..?" His voice is stained with uncertainty about the whole situation, but he's come this far. Might as well find out what he can about the mysterious individual before him.

Shibuya eagerly took it and pocketed back his phone once the exchange was over. With the police gone, it was time for them to leave, no point in staying in this dump for much longer. The man gingerly opened the door and peeked out, there was no one here and the coast was clear.


And with that, he left.
