Spread the News [Case File 17]

It was the crack of dawn, Gabe was already dressed up and had something akin to the jitters. Tonight was the famed night, he was going to make due on his promise and make sure that he spread the information like he said he would. It had very much to do with being an adult, that included Gabe keeping his promises. If they wanted to go to someone who wasn't attached to the government, the bets person to o so was the same individual that was running the detective agency.

Maybe it helped that Gabe greased a few wallets of the body guards from the security at the Lucky Clover in order to follow him around and make sure it isn't anyone unrecognizable that seems to be keeping an eye on him. "for Stalkers" he said, "for protection" he said, which is all valid since Gabe was running the branch at Endymion, where it all started.

However, planting the seed that he was overly cautious made others not even bat an eye when he headed off to the detective agency. Swiftly opening the and closing it behind him.

"Good morning...... i wanted to inquire about one of your services, there is a very unsettling rumor that might be of interest

“Well, in this case I guess, business first. “ Gabe would say this casually as he placed his 300 vc on the table and smiled, taking the seat across the super detective. “If you like rumors, maybe you’ll like what I’ll have to say, you see, you know about the recent story of the cannibalistic acts of idols and whatnot correct? Well, rumor has it that it’s all linked to the so called “district leader”, Invidia. He basically runs Susie Q, but it’s possible that he’s highly involved in operating a brainwashing operation through the music he produces with the people he takes under him. Maybe a super detective like yourself could notice anything? “

Gabe then sat back and reached into his pocket, bringing out his phone and a pack of cards. The phone was for the recording of the live music that was performed by the gothic chick. He paid attention to the facial expression of raidou as he started to shuffle a little bit, picking off a top card and revealing the king. After placing it on the table, Gabe would point at it. “So, as the head, the king of his castle, no one really goes on his stage without his say so. There's been quite a few murders with all the girls that he picked, the last one was eaten alive. They found the latest corpse near the Karaoke Bar, a place where maybe …..perhaps…”

Gabe then placed the cards down and stopped the recording. “All of the talent seems to be coming from the karaoke bar…. Apparently… and then after their trials of hell to be seen as a somebody, after their 5 minutes of fame, promptly sacrificed as if it were a cult. Taking the card, Gabe would shuffle it back into the deck, mainly shuffling for the time being. “Did this catch your interest detective?”

"That's fair, but I can only give your 2900 for the current time period. I'll bring the rest of your money in the evening if that's ok with you. Think of it as more than 90% of the downpayment for a job that I don't even know that you would complete because of the risk factor that comes with it. Following the ethics of business, I am willing to compromise with your request for the good of your safety and professional standing. However, I only bought so much cash with me, and I wasn't' expecting the inflation of the price. "

Gabe would say as he literally emptied his pockets of all he had, adding up to 2900 VC on the table. "I have my money and my word. And if that's not enough. We can gamble a small wager for your trust if you don't think I'll return here in the next hour or so for the last 100 vc you are requesting. Don't get this wrong, I'm not haggling you down. It's business as usual, but patience is a nice sweetener for future partnerships for whenever I have juicier "rumors" that might entertain you.

The ball was now in her court.

After the discussion the other night about spreading the rumor about the actions of this Invidia character, Lui found himself running to the agency when he realized that he was burning daylight. He had heard about the detective agency when he got the chance to participate in the Everyday Idol concert. If the so-called rumor service were reliable and fairly cheap, given the mere 300 VC in his pocket, it could work as the best outlet for the rumor. Word spreads fast through the whispers of people, after all.

As he made his way there, he noticed a well-dressed man having a discussion with the detective at the desk. Heaving a light sigh, he took a seat behind the wall, hoping his business would wrap up soon so that he could talk with the detective.

But his restless ears picked up on something, certain parts of their conversation that made him turn his head to listen. The music playing from the video on his phone jabbed at Lui with the messages, and the mention of idols and Suzie Q's leader.. all of it followed the rumor they wished to spread. Lui found himself smirking at the fact that this guy was doing the work for him. Was he a terrorist without the mask, perhaps one he met the other day?

The conversation took a turn when the man emptied out his pockets to the detective, only to come up short a mere 100 VC short. This presented a problem; showing up and randomly offering to pay the remainder would prove suspicious, so Lui decided to make like the wind and disappear. Retrieving a stray box from along the wall, he stuck 100 VC underneath it, leaving it visible to the man should he be observant, and leaving the office without a word.

"So, he's likely a terrorist... But which one? Hmm, maybe I'll get a coffee, lounge on a bench outside the office, and get a good look at him once he leaves." Lui debated with himself as he set off to do just that.

Due to the fact that Gabe brought a few people to watch his back, as well as for the sake of security to guard the young casino manager, they kind of written off Lui as another attendee of the business. They weren't thugs, and protecting Gabe was the priority, so Lui was basically left alone. As for Gabe he couldn't believe how stingy this woman was.

"I can't believe that someone like me is being strongly armed......"  Gabe looked around frantically through his pockets, did he drop 100 VC?"  One second, let me look one last time. " Gabe Searched a little bit to see if he dropped some money, catching the 100 vc at the corner of his eye and quickly snatching it.  He had no idea where it came from, but the goddess of luck was probably smiling on him this time around. Taking down that sick fuck was the priority, and he would call on any sort of positive influence to help him and the rest of the terrorists do it.

"I must have dropped it after all..." Gabe would place all the money on the table and push it over. "3000, as agreed..."

"Pleasure doing business with you. "

Gabe would then promptly get up and give the detective a sharp nod.

"Keep your eyes peeled, something interesting might happen."

With that, Gabe left.
