Heya! I'm your friendly neighborhood Larsinny, a demon here to keep you updated on the current debacles going on within the site! Okay, maybe not debacles... Anyway! The Endymion Plot, our Third Main Plot, is underway! We also have our sideplot taking place called Junction! If you're a new member looking to join the new plot, you will want to choose Endymion. However, if you're interested in our sideplot, you may also join that one aswell. The choice is ultimately up to you! The Dungeon Master of the Junction plot is CWIS and the DM of the current Endymion plot is Godai and Grantus.

All templates on the site have been updated, and this also includes the rules aswell. When referring to the rules, please disregard any that say "Old" or "Obsolete" as we are no longer using those rules for the Endymion Plot. Oh, don't be mistaken! I love breaking the rules! But in this case, follow them or erasure!

A Grimm Dawn

After Team RWBY's expedition to Mountain Glenn and subsequent defeat of Dr. Merlot, it seemed the area had been mostly secured and contained from the mad scientist's evil experiments. With the hidden laboratories blown up and in wrecks, the public felt safe knowing that the threat of genetically-engineered intelligent Grimm was safely eradicated by Beacon Academy's brave huntresses... however, soon after this incident, you receive a personal request from Professor Ozpin, requesting you, as the Team Leader, to bring your teammates to the Mountain and make sure that nothing was left behind.

Set between the events of Volumes 2 and 3, as well as directly after Grimm Eclipse's storyline, A Grimm Dawn will star a single team of upperclassmen from Beacon Academy in their quest to retrieve any potential remnants of Dr. Merlot's research so that Professor Ozpin himself may analyze them carefully. Their journey begins in the nearby woodlands, but once they start approaching the ruined facilities, things become immediately strange...

Making use of the RWBY Unofficial Tabletop game, A Grimm Dawn will be a short series of sessions, at most 4, with the purpose of both testing out the game and maybe have some fun telling a quick story as well. I'm looking for four players, no more, no less, to form a full team of Huntsman and Huntresses. Regular RWBY rules apply, your character can be custom but their name MUST abide by the Color Rule. Cooperation between the players in regards to their team is appreciated, but not necessary; if a set Team name isn't given, I'll come up with one myself based on your initials, somehow.

You can find the player's handbook I'll be taking notes from here as well as the character sheet here. Players will have a total of 18 starting points to distribute between their stats, as you would reasonably be experienced students at this point and well on your way to graduation. You also start at Level 2, as referred in the book for proper bonuses, and will gain a level upon every completed session, such that in the final one you'll be Level 5 where you will cap off.

I encourage people to sign up right away as a team, as having one already formed will make it more likely that I'll choose you instead of having to pick several individual members then lumping them together into a single group.

Either way, this is just for interest gauging right now; the actual game will likely be in around two weeks from now once my exams are over, but we can figure out a set date and schedule once the players are picked. Naturally, we will be using Roll20 to play the game. Also, you don't even have to actually draw your weapon in your sheet if you don't want to or can't, a verbal description will suffice; though you must keep this noted somewhere! OKAY, so my exams are done, finally, and now I actually have time to set this up!

One VERY important thing is that I'll be closing applications for this on Monday, at Midnight GMT, so if you want a shot to get into this, don't forget to form a team with three other people and submit your sheets to me over Discord or whatever you'd like (PMs on here are fine too; one person PMing me everyone's sheets is the best way too if you choose to go that route). So far the only formed team is Jojo, Captain, Moogle and Break, so if no other team comes up they're getting the spots by default. If more teams show up, I'll likely decide through a PvP session to see which team comes out on top; if this happens, make sure to read how Unbalanced PvP works in the player's handbook! Once a team is decided, we can coordinate everyone's availability; if everyone has Discord, I'll be making a group there to organize this. If you don't have Discord, uh, try to make one, you can use it on your browser too. If you still can't, we'll figure something out nonetheless.

TIME'S UP. The Team was picked, sheets are in, and we'll be starting once we coordinate a time when everyone is free to play. When the first session finishes, I'll be updating this topic with a summary of it as a sort of record on how it goes.

Also, I'll be making it public here: once this campaign is done I'll likely make a personal homebrew version of this system because while I like the general mechanics there are a lot of things that I feel need changing and fixing in the handbook to make the game easier to understand and play properly. This will include adding new Weapon Mods, fixing up Dust Types, creating new enemies, revamping some mechanics, etc., and when it's done it's the version I'll use if I eventually run a full non-test campaign of the system (which I likely will if things go right in this one).
