| Louie was sitting at the edge of the forest, watching the other side where cars sped past through the highway. He had recently read an ad offering to teach sword fighting to anyone. Since Louis couldn't exactly take a jog to burn calories, he signed himself up. He told his caretakers about his opportunity and after getting their approval, he was left at the edge of the forest waiting.
For this upcoming lesson, Louie dressed out in plain clothes, just a plain sweatshirt and gym shorts. As for the sword part of it, he didn't have anything like a sword or something like that, so he didn't bother with that. Before he could continue watching cards a trio of small children approached him. "Wow mister, is that wheelchair real??" one of the small kids asked. Louie began to scowl. "And what if it is? It's none of your business if it is or isn't, so beat it, am I clear?" he snapped. The child's face went from a smile to a face full of tears as the group ran off. "damn kids" Louis muttered to himself as he went back to watching cars. |

| (Not exactly what I meant by private training, but I can work with this. Also, sorry bout the wait.) "47...48...49...50!" At the 50th strike from his saber, the panel of wood before him had been splintered and shattered into pieces. Lui wiped the sweat beating off his brow and reached for what he imagined was his water bottle. Needless to say, his water was nowhere to be seen, only his workout bag laid before him.
"Did I leave it back near the entrance? Really need to keep an eye on the thing. Wait... Is that crying?"
Lui's feet hit the trail hard as he raced toward the scene; a group of children hightailing it from a grumpy gentleman in a wheelchair scowling at them. While he hadn't heard the conversation beforehand, it was clear the guy was miffed about something they said. That or he just plain hated children. Lui lightly tapped his shoulder as he moved towards the front of the wheelchair, training saber slung over his shoulder.
"Hey there, man. Not having a chipper start to your day, are ya? Those kids say something demeaning to you, or are you one of those guys who can't stand them in general. Anyways, waiting for someone?"
Should the gentleman bring up the advertisement, Lui would give the guy a confused look as he spoke. "Ad? No, I wasn't putting an ad out. Did it say to come all the way out to East Eden, not even a house address? Well, sorry, guy. I don't know where your teacher could be. Although... would be a shame to go home with nothing to show for it. Tell you what; while your sensei is out looking for ya, I'll give ya some training of my own. No charge for the first lesson. You like it and maybe we can work out some sort of plan. Here, I'll take you to my little grove."
Offering to push the disabled man down the dirt path, Lui would lead him into the clearing. The foil and epee lay against a damaged tree trunk and a workout bag lay on the stump. Lui sat down on the stump beside the man and asked a question to gauge his experience. "So, any previous training? Certain sword you're profecient in?" | |

| (Ah I'm sorry about the communication issue! And for the late response!)
Louie's scowl was plastered to his face as he saw the group ran off. just as he started to relax again, there was a small tap on his shoulder. Turning his head, he saw a man about his age armed with a sword move into Louie’s view. He tensed up and clenched his fist as if he was expecting an assault, his other hand on a wheel.
“I mean, kids will be kids, but yeah, kids will always be pretty annoying. I try to stay away from them to be honest.” He admitted, before tilting his head noticing the sword.
“Yeah, there was this ad for sword fighting lessons at school, and it looks like a pretty good opportunity to exercise, so here I am” He said, holding up the clip out from the ad from the school. “Are you him?” the wheelchair bound blond inquired, his face not showing even a crack of hesitance to question what he was saying.
When the other guy said that he wasn’t the person Louis was looking for, he crumpled up the ad and shoved it into his pocket, and his scowl grew two times its size. He started to realize how little specifics the ad had on it, and with a slam of his hand on the wheel, Louis gave a look like he was going to snap something in half. “Oh, I see” he grumbled “I’ll have to find that person next week, ask him about that credibility, dammit…”
He took in a deep breath and rested his hands back on the handles of his chair, nodding his head at the suggestion of some training. “yeah, I’m sorry about that, that’d be great.” Louie said and looked over throughout the flora and fauna on the pathway. When they got to the special grove and the swordsman asked him about any previous experience with the sword, Louie shook his head. “I used to play around with some toy swords, but there was no real kind of experience with swords.” He said, loosening up his composure

| While Lui wasn't certain about who could have made the ad, he was pretty sure that if this teacher spaced so much on these important details, he might have just forgotten about their meeting today. Even so, the chairbound man seemed to be grumbling over the instructor's incompetence in the ad. Lui decided to lighten his frustration towards him, if only to not be another target for the teacher's frustration.
"Let's worry about him later. I'm sure he'll be suffering enough trying to find you in this place anyhow. Not too many people live all the way out here."
------------------------------------------------------------------- “I used to play around with some toy swords, but there was no real kind of experience with swords.”
"So, starting from near scratch? Alright, let's see what I can do. Oh, but introductions before anything else.
The name's Lui Saito, Captain of the Seven Stars Fencing Club. Of course, given your situation and the weapons I got with me, I think it'd be best to start with the saber. Here, you can use my training saber for this session and I'll keep my shiny well-kept one on me."
Lui would wheel Louie to the middle of the grove and knelt down beside him to demonstrate how to hold the saber with one hand.
"Okay, like this. Give it a few practice swings, get the feel for the weight. We'll move on to a real target when you're ready. I kind of shattered one already..." | |

| Even though Louie was still fuming from the lack of professionalism from the ad, he managed to take several deep breaths, and pushed that bubbling fury back down. “Believe me, whoever made the ad is going to suffer even more when I get my hold on them.” he said, a small grin forming at the thought of seeing whoever was responsible . With the introduction of Lui, the captain of the swordfighting club, Louie gave a nod of respect. “It’s nice to meet you Lui, my name is Louie Mantle, and I’m part of the student council.” he said, before looking at the saber and taking a grip on it. On the outside, Louie looked like almost a grin was showing, but on the inside of his head, he was beginning to scowl internally again. It was just that phrase people used, Situation. They always just used that instead of skipping all of the nicknames said that he was just in a wheelchair. Weighing the saber up and down before letting his left hand hold the blade as instructed. He swung it up and down to give it a whirl, and it took him a few minutes to get used to the movements and such. But even still he came into trouble getting comfortable with it. Louie kept at it though, and gave Lui another nod to signal he was ready.

| “It’s nice to meet you Lui, my name is Louie Mantle, and I’m part of the student council.” "Huh, another 'Louie'. Small world, isn't it? Student council, you say? Well, that makes for an interesting position. Sis was hitting the campaign trail to attempt to join student council. Though I think she's beginning to drop that and get back into cheerleading... Even after all those stupid signs I made with her. I swear, I may never get to wash off all that glitter."
As Louie took swings with the saber, Lui continued talking as he wheeled him over to the scratched mat he had placed over the trunk of the tree. A paper diagram of a body was taped over the mat to show weak points to strike.
"Yeah, your situation is a little different. You came for sword fighting lessons, but I'm not properly equipped with all the weapons your teacher would get you started with... What? Did you think I meant the wheelchair thing as your situation? Pfft, that's not an issue. Granted, I can't teach you fencing footwork, but at least we can work on a target.
Now, when you swipe, aim to hit these marked spots. These are the biggest weak points on a human body to strike at. We'll be starting on torso spots, so try hitting the points near the stomach, near the shoulders, and we can work on better techniques. Go on, give it a good solid hit." | |

| Louie hadn’t even thought of the funny idea that they both had the same name, and he cracked a smile. “Glitter sure is a pain. I prefer bold text and a could slogan! That’s the secret to winning” He confided. As they moved through the area, Louie took a moment to just take in the quietness of the area. There was no cars to be heard, and especially no children to bother him. It was almost peaceful minus how he felt on the inside. He was still a little irked even though Lui didn’t really do anything on purpose to make him frustrated. When Lui explained back to Louis that he didn’t mean that he was in a wheelchair, but not properly prepared for the lesson, Louie gave a shake of his head. “It’s not your fault, you weren’t even supposed to be a teacher for me. But thank you for this.” he said, although his tone hadn’t really changed. He then stared over at the marked target, and raised up the saber above his head. He then slammed it into the target with full force and started to attack the dummy. His mind was half set on trying to maintain all the notes about technique he had been taught but the other half was dead set on venting out some of his frustration on the target.

| "Glitter sure is a pain. I prefer bold text and a could slogan! That's the secret to winning" "Right?! A decent slogan would've done her some good besides a flashy design. Unfortunately, this round of student council elections is turning into something of a popularity contest, so of course Sumi was blazing the trail with her entourage at first. And then, well, she started diverting attention to the Cadets and going out with friends all the time. Honestly, it's about time she dropped from the race. But enough of my problems that concern you none. Let's get back to training."
As Louie took large swings at the paper dummy, he noticed that Louie was striking with rather strong force. Sure, it would be effective in damage, but the windup would leave his opponent with plenty of time to stab him into oblivion. When Louie decided to slow on his offensive, Lui would wheel him away from the dummy and have him face Lui. After putting on his vest and mask, Lui would pull out his epee and stand a short distance from him.
"You got some power behind your swing, but yeah, you leave yourself plenty open during an attack. In my branch of swordfighting, one opening is all a foe needs to win the match. Now, take those same swings on me, and I'll show you how to parry strikes. The shorter the parry, the more power behind it to make it effective. After a while, I'll begin trying to hit you. You'll need the vest for that... Looks like mine will fit just fine.
Alright, take a swing." | |

| It felt good for Louie; just to let loose and really beat out the anger on something without consequence. As he continued to swing and slam, his technique started to go away and was replaced by pure rage. Louie was seeing red, and the paper diagram wasn’t looking so hot either. Louie lowered his sword after about five more minutes of giving the dummy a beatdown. His arms burned, and his breath was short. Looking up at the sky and staring at the crowds, Louie began to take deep breaths as the anger faded and the exhaustion set in from the burst of energy. As he got moved back and onto another spot, Louie moved his arms to get adjusted to vest, then raised up his sword again. “Right, let’s do this” he whispered, before tilting his head to listen to what Lui had to say. Louie nodded hesitantly, and then swung his sword again, not as a wide arc but with just as much force. - Spoiler:
holy fucking shit i am so sorry for the uber late response
