Takeru had called Masako out to the backlight this fine morning for breakfast because of what he had to show her.
Or rather, tell her.
You see, he wanted to brag to somebody that he had created the newest hit comic sensation in Endymion.
The Frostice League.
So he turned on his phone, and clicked a random name off the list of contacts he had saved under "friends."
Masako's name happened to be the one he clicked.
So one thing lead to another, and thus, that brings up to the current situation.
Now all he had to do was wait.

All the way out to the Backlight... this is not study appropriate, Masako thought. To be fair, she only brought the one book, on the off chance that he needed more studying. But the Backlight? Perhaps it was not studying that he had in mind. At least she was prepared for that possibility this time around.

Well, at least it was a change of pace, and it couldn't hurt to see all the locations available to her. One never knows if one will have to patrol through here.

"Well, you've chosen and interesting location," Masako stated as she arrived, setting her bag down as she sat with him. "I hope you've had a decent morning, at least."

"Yeah, i've had a great morning, as a matter of fact. Still a bit tired, but otherwise, great." He said. "Now, i'm willing to guess that after last time, what you have is probably a textbook. So before you pull that out... I want to ask you something." He said.
"Have you heard of Frostice League? That new, blockbuster hit comic series that hit the stands?" Takeru asked her.

Blockbuster? Well, I have to admit, there has been a lot about it from the forums I tend to visit.

"I'll admit, I haven't gotten a chance to read it, but I've heard a lot of it in my time. Why do you ask?"

There wasn't a lack of interest. Far from it. The moment he brought it up, he had her attention. She had wanted to know more about this, and it seemed that Takeru was, somehow, able to provide information.

He liked the sudden look of interest in her eyes.
"So you have an interest in that sort of thing, eh? That's fine." he said.
"I'm asking because I have a spare copy of issue #0 with me right now, fresh off the presses. If you like, I can lend it to you. I thought you might like it." He said, reaching for it. Issue 0 was a hilariously hard to find issue, having to go through at least six reprints when it came out. Currently, no bookstore in Endymion had it in stock, making his statement seem almost like a lie...
That is, until he pulled it out.
The first of the seventh reprint wave.

"In case you're curious as to how I got ahold of a spare copy like this... it's because I myself am the author. I wrote this under a pseudonym, you see. And i'm not lying either." He whispered quietly to her after making sure nobody was listening in on them. He knew that if he said that out loud, there would probably be a small riot here.

"I can even prove it." He said confidently, having rehearsed the method of doing so in his head a million times.

Hold on... did he say he had an issue zero? The forums I've been to mention how insanely difficult it was to even get your hands on an issue zero! Is he bluffing? Who in their right mind would make a claim like that? Unless they actually have it... well color me impressed!

Her stoic eyes widened at the sight of the issue being pulled out. Where did he even get his hands on it?

Apparently, the answer was that he was the author.

... Kagemaru... what are you planning now? she thought skeptically. She eyed him silently, looking for any signs of deception. If he had any, he hid them well.

"Alright then," she said, deciding the most obvious course of action to take. "Prove it... show to me that you're this so called... Kataru Makaruge. I want hard evidence, otherwise my stance will not change on this."

"Okay. Three things." He said, Pulling them out one by one, He Laid out 3 Objects Before her.
One, a copy of a patent submission form that had been fully approved.
Two, his copy of the signed publisher's contract.
Three, an advanced copy of issue No. 1.

"I believe these three things are sufficient proof?" He asked her.

She allowed him to lay down the evidence before giving them a good look. She then paused, arms crossed while a finger tapped at one of her arms, almost as though letting her stoic presence allow for a bit of pressure. Then she finally took a look at the evidence.

What she discovered was such a shock that she, rather dramatically, felt her own body jerk backwards as though from a physical blow. Further adding to the illusion that she was struck was how she leaned on the table, full of shock and surprise, teeth gritted as though she was enduring some kind of pain.

"Thi-this is..." she expressed. "This is real, isn't it?!" She did her best to maintain a low voice, which was ironic considering the rather dramatic display she made before. "This evidence is indisputable..."

Needless to say, she was very impressed, if not surprisingly shaken in her expectations.

"Uh... you okay?" He asked her upon seeing her grimace. "If you're questioning the validity of them, they even have a seal of authenticity and all, see?" Takeru said to her, showing it to her.
"Impressed?" He asked her.

"Impressed, and very surprised," Masako stated, "I never took you for an author. The thought never once crossed my mind." She only now took the opportunity to reclaim her composer, crossing her arms and tapping her finger again.

"You are one of many talents, it seems."

"Thank you." He said, graciously accepting the praise. "But if I may ask, what did you take me for previously? A musician?" He asked her, having the feeling that he just answered his own question, but hey, who knows.
Could be anything.

"In all honesty, I took you for a bumbling student who happened to be a talented musician," she replied, still having her arms crossed and looking stoically. "You seem to have all manner of hidden surprises. I find myself wondering what else is hidden underneath that exterior."

Takeru was slightly taken aback by the remark of him being bumbling.
Okay, he made mistakes, but no more so than any other being.
The next remark she said, however made him blush.
"Uh.. um... Thank you." He said after a moment, accepting the praise.

She took a second look at issue zero. He did offer to loan it out, didn't he?

"You said I was allowed to borrow this?" she asked, making sure that her memory had not failed her. If nothing else, it was at least worth a look. Considering the kind of genre it seemed to follow, it had had to be worth at least one go over.

"Um... yes. Feel free to borrow it. Let me know what you're what you think of it when you're done." Takeru said to her.
Mentally, he could start cheering that he had managed to give a gift to a girl.
Now to see if she liked it.
