Bored [Takeru]

After parting ways with that mysterious foreigner, Touko continued to wander about through the city. It had been a rather interesting evening. But nevertheless, she decided to stay around a bit longer before calling it a night. Yet, she felt a little hungry. Her eye spied upon a late-night restaurant that was relatively empty. Entering, she made her presence known to its owner.

There were no signs of a no-smoking sign, except for one that limited it in the busy day time. As if on cue, she helped herself to another of the white cancer sticks and lit it.

"Hmm..."

Takeru himself was out late that night, and headed to that same restaurant to try and get something to eat. Upon noticing the smell of smoke, however, he decided to try and see if he could stop the source of it (after placing an order first).
"Hey... could you quit smoking? " He said to the woman, who seemed to give him a look that said "why the hell should I?"
Head clouded by his tiredness, he instead said the first thoughts that came to his mind.
"Three reasons, one: the smell is rather nasty too me, and don't tell me to leave, I already placed an order. Two, there's no ashtray at all, meaning the ashes scatter, which is a pain in the are to deal with. Third, and finally, well... frankly a woman as pretty as you shouldn't smoke. You'll ruin your pretty looks." He said, his tone remaining mostly polite seriousness with a hint of snark in it.

After having a relaxing smoke when the sign allowed her, the woman was about to make her order of a small dinner for this evening. Yet, someone seemed to bother her in the midst of her leisure activity. She raised an eyebrow at what looked like a boy no younger than a teenager. Perhaps what caught her attention the most was how short he was. Touko might have heeded his request, but he seemed full of himself by stating his own reasons; especially when she should just because she's a "pretty woman".

"I hate to break it to you, kid. But this store allows smoking at this hour. Didn't you read the sign? You came here knowing this and expected me to simply cater to you? Sorry, no can do."

She blew smoke in his face and drew out the actual ash tray that was lying beside the napkin dispensing box on her table. The woman let her actions speak for herself as she tapped the burning end into the ceramic tray for the ashes to accumulate. Touko looked back into her menu and looked over which evening meal to try.

"Sorry. I didn't notice the ashtray before." Takeru said.
"... tell you what. You pick whatever you like off the menu. O'll pay because now I feel bad." He said. Mentally however , he prayed she wasn't a big eater. He may have had a fair amount of money saved up, and he had already payed for his food, but he still felt a sinking feeling that that number was going to be quite less by the time she was done eating...

Huh, the boy changed his tune pretty quickly. What for? She wondered if he wanted anything from her. Normally if anyone was feeling annoyed with the puppeteer, they might go elsewhere or continue to bring into attention some asinine issue that she wasn't interested in. The redhead allowed the cigarette to rest against the ashtray as she crossed her legs under the table.

"Not interested. I can pay for myself. Is there anything else you want from me or did you just come here for the sake of pestering me?"

"... nope. And... that's my order... Goodbye." Takeru said, sighing. He picked up his food. Guess there's no reasoning with some people... he thought.
Still though... why do I get the feeling I'll see her again? He thought, as he headed back home, food in hand...

The woman shrugged and looked down to her menu. When the waiter came around, she finally ordered for her meal. The night would carry on as she ate and finished before leaving.

The Fisher of Souls finds two small fish and after examining them decides there is no connection there. Perhaps somewhere down the pathways of time a connection can be formed, but for now he lets the fish go and moves his boat on along the River of Chance.

Telos and Touko have failed to create a social link due to no connection being made.
