Yama sports a head of messy, short, white hair. His eyes are naturally grey and, after his Shadow has its awakening, they will turn a bright, glowing yellow. He wears a dark-turquoise hoodie that he often leaves unzipped and, underneath it, a white t-shirt with a single hot-pink streak going across it. For pants, he wears a pair of shorts that are colored the same as his hoodie. Of course, this is all just his usual attire. He'll wear other outfits, but this is one of his more frequent styles. Also worth noting is his height and weight -- Yama standing at 5'6 and weighing 135 pounds.

Yama's transformed appearance is that of a winged angel. Faceless and covered entirely in black, he looks as if he's a three-dimensional outline -- possessing a basic figure, but no discernible traits. His height and weight are the same as in his base form. Underneath him follows a black circle that engulfs his feet and emits strange, intangible, dark streaks into the air around him. These streaks quickly fade and are replaced by new ones arising from the circle.

Yama is shy, awkward, and clumsy. He's kindhearted and seeks to help others, but he feels he's too much of a liability to those around him to do much good. Disheartened by his inability to find a good job, he has a hard time mustering up the motivation to head outside and spends most of his freetime locked away in his apartment sleeping. Though his heart's in the right place, he's a mess and doesn't know where his life's headed or what to do with it.

He loves dogs and cats, is disorganized, enjoys drinking black coffee, listens to jazz on a frequent basis, and isn't too interested in the politics of Endymion. To make his life feel more meaningful, he indulges in delusions of grandeur and has formulated a bit of a messiah-complex in the process: subconsciously thinking of himself as someone destined to be a hero and savior of mankind.

Fully accepting of the worldview that his former self tried to bury deep down inside of himself, Yama embraces a nihilistic view on life. He views it as a string of contradictions that tangles humans up until they eventually are strangled to death by the red strings of fate. To him, humans cling to life out of an instinctual yearning for survival and a smog of delusions that their mind drowns in until they either fall into despair upon the realization of the truth or are finally slain. Overall Yama believes that what their hearts truly desire, and what would benefit them the most, is a quick death. But because of their very nature and the philosophy propagated by society and the masses, they deny this to themselves and instead continue to endure the pain of living.

His messiah-complex has been amplified due to being entwined with this nihilistic outlook. Believing himself to be the chosen one of the demons, he believes that they have come to free the people of Endymion from their suffering through either slaying them or turning them into Shadows. Seeking to bring about the supposed will of demonkind, he is fanatically devoted to his beliefs and seeks to convert those he deems trustworthy in the hope that they may bring about the region's downfall and let the demons overrun it. His end-goal is to see life as the general public knows it vanish via the masses attaining "salvation" either through being slaughtered by the demons or being transformed into a Shadow themselves; this being a process which he views as akin to ascending above the contradictory nature of the human species.

While he has no hatred or disdain for other creatures, he views Shadows as being superior to them. He considers his fellow Shadow to be a blessed creature that, just like him, was brought into this world to carry out the will of the demons. Because of this, he has a special disdain for Shadows who reject him and his agenda. He views them just as he views demons employed by the government -- beings which have fallen from grace and, in doing so, become abominations fit only for extermination.

Yama embraces his desire for social contact with others and is much less shy than his predecessor. He's eager to spend time with others despite his inability to recognize and respect perspectives that aren't his own. Due to being so extroverted, it shouldn't take much effort to initiate and cultivate a social link with him. He's flirtatious, albeit in a teasing way, and he enjoys trying and experiencing new things (especially if they're forbidden by society's laws and/or norms). It should be noted, however, that he doesn't seem to have much respect for a person's boundaries. He'll try to pressure introverts into hanging out with him, doesn't seem to have much understanding about the concept of personal space, and overall can come off as too pushy. Nevertheless, this isn't out of any malice or anger at the person. Rather, it typically comes from a desire to spend time with them or introduce them to new experiences that they might otherwise shy away from.

Though he speaks in a somewhat formal manner, his casual demeanor and behavior run in direct contrast to this.

Last but not least, it should be noted that Yama has retained many of his previous qualities and traits. He continues to love animals, listen to jazz, take his coffee black, etc. After all, the two Yamas are one in the same.

The Background

History: Yama has always lived in Endymion and continues to do so. His life was never particularly eventful. He'd carry on mindlessly from day to day as a faceless schmuck. When the Eternal Divide hit, it surprisingly didn't manage to impact him much. No one he loved or cherished perished in the incident and even though it was an event of great importance that vastly impacted the future of Endymion, his life ended up looking just the same to him as it was before.

Yama continues to live life as he always has. He resides in Suzie Q and watches as the idols of the city gain far more fame, fortune, and overall success than he ever could hope for. Recently fired from his job, he was lucky enough to reside in an apartment managed by one of his friends who's willing to ignore his rent... for the moment, that is.

Everything good except a pair of strengths.

Both the boost in demon negotiation and social linking are pointless. There is no meter to gauge effectiveness in these. At best the social qualities may help with demons. It all relies on RP, and how the other side likes you. You can have it there for fanciness, but it really won't have any actual effect. If they dislike you, that won't change in any way due to these strengths. So you're free to change those into something else if you wish.
