A young woman walked upon the scene of the courtyard. She wore a black jacket, and her hair was wavy and looked as though it had gone through its fair share of roughness. Her mangled machinery still intact as far as she knew, and her heart still cracked like before. Yes, everything in her was checked out so far. Ruo_06 looked upon the tower as she walked towards it, before looking behind her a couple times. After some time, she realized she did not have much memory beyond that fight with the Masked Man, but when she woke up, she saw the grey-haired man Naito leave her. She figured; seeing as how they were hardly comraderous to begin with. Regardless, she found it hard to not notice the many people that were at the front entrance. She recognized faces, and yet were missing some like her friend Hibiki. A couple faces were in fact unfamiliar. She was tempted to show up herself, however she felt that as they spoke, she would simply stay backwards, and not interrupt them. They may trust her some of them, but she was just a machine, and her presence was not necessary for them to consider as someone else seemed to make their way to the scene so suddenly.

Ruo stood back near the trees that were not burnt, apparently from a recent struggle, and for the most part Ruo remained out of sight, staring at the monolith that was the tower. It was so large, and much like the Yachiru Corporation she remembered. Most likely something was going on, and well, it would not be fitting if she ran away. Maybe something could get done. She thought if she could go in perhaps on her own she could find something in regards to this event if she could not talk to others. She may not have been the stealthiest of weapons when she was made, but she was made with killing in mind, and that entails her knowing a few tricks of the trade.

Ruin thought about approaching them again, and yet decided against it once more. If she jumped in what would she say? They were probably planning something. What use would she have here? No, she had to go in alone. She thought of the couple that were there that she knew as allies and even friends, but here she may have to revive her old survival instincts. She looked behind her once more. Staying back was the smarter choice here, and she did not want to jeopardize her own or anyone else’s lives by being a hindrance. In the meantime, she would simply watch. Maybe when it cooled down she could show up. But it seemed like for the moment, she needed to just watch and see what she could learn by monitoring the tower. She watched, and tried to view any details around her besides the obvious. There was not much she could immediately grasp however. Maybe the android would do better if she went in. That was indeed something to consider; going in now and saving some time and trouble. But of course, the hidden tingle in her head warned her not to. She was always fearful of her own life, and running in seemed like suicide at first glance. It was enough to keep her out for the moment. What would happen to the android she wondered, and furthermore, what could be done to fix whatever was happening to the place she had now called home for so long? She lived here for some time, and she fought to defend what she could. To see it in peril weighed on her. She could feel it in her makeshift heart. She looked behind her before placing a hand over her side where the Papillon Heart still stayed. Maybe it was a simulated emotion, but it was her own emotion and it was real to her. She would not let anyone tell her otherwise, such was her resolve to stay here and figure out how to bring Ueitawa back to its original state, before this, before Limbo and back to true peace.

Booting Up

Caestus wandered around the courtyard, trying to get used to this new location, finding his bearings and whatnot, while giving himself some time to think. What exactly had taken place here? Normally, he should've known everything that had transpired here after his briefing with Shizuka, but somehow that memory had slipped away. The only things he could remember about his mission was that he had been sent here to restore the peace to the region, meeting up with his handler in Nokawia, which, for all tends and purposes he had. He just... did not recall such a meeting ever taking place. Why was that? Had someone tinkered with his memory somehow? The giant tower loomed over them all as a constant reminder of that something was indeed wrong. But what? That was the question. And much to Caestus' dismay, Shizuka seemed to have dissapeared as well... Was she somewhere inside the tower by any chance? He had been tempted to enter it on multiple occasions already, but he hesitated every single time because of that large group of people... Sneaking was far from his strong suite...

Just as the android had finished his third revolution around the tower, he saw someone new... Black hair, strikingly blue eyes... She seemed... apprehensive about something. Not that Caestus himself was much of a people person, but judging by her actions and the distance she had put between herself and the other humans gave him at least a small hint as to what was going on within that girl's mind... Should he approach her? Was that really the smartest move? Or should he just leave her be for now? He found himself a bit unsure as to what he should be doing...

After a moment spent thinking, he decided to approach her at least. Seeing how she would react. It was a start at least. He carefully approached her in an attempt to not scare her away. "You're hesitating as well?" He would ask in a somber tone. He gazed at the group of people in front of the tower entrance. No face that he recognized... He was truly out of the loop here... He sighed deeply. Caestus knew very well that he needed to approach these people sooner or later anyway... Whether they approached him, or the other way around was up to fate to decide... Would this girl help or hinder him?

She leaned her head out more to try and get a closer look. Maybe she had been half-hoping someone she knew would not be too busy and find her. Perhaps that was why she was half out in the open. Just before she was about to stop herself, someone else seemed to do so for her. Seeing as how she just woke up, and was not to thrilled about the entire world stopping, AND was all alone for the moment, suddenly talking to her was going to set off alarms. Were she anyone else it may not have turned out this way, but no one could predict the panicked paranoid android that was Ruin_06. She immediately turned her head to face him, holding out her right arm as though in a semi fighting stance. It looked deceptively weak, as she had projectiles hidden within her fingertips ready to fire if need be. She stared at the man with a scanning look. This man had blonde hair, blue eyes, rather generic looking. She had not seen this person before, if he was a person at all. Even the dark-haired man smoking looked familiar. To be fair though, were it anyone else she did not know she probably would have done the same thing. Her social interactions as a machine still definitely needed work.

"Yes, but perhaps not for the same reason as you are. What is your business here? Choose your next words carefully," she said in a lowered tone to not risk a commotion. She had friends, but even Ruo was not the most trusting thing out there. It was mostly out of suspicion that she grew this demeanor, but perhaps there was a small portion of her that felt defensive for her friends that caused her to suddenly get reflexive. If it was, she herself could not deny it. But as harsh as it may have seemed, she could not get in trouble first. She failed the first time, and who knows what happened during then. Perhaps that failure caused her to revert to a degree back to her old cold and distrusting ways. And being alone and suddenly spoken to by an unknown suspect was even worse. Who was this man? He clearly had a Persona, or else he would not be active in a state much like Limbo before it. Ruo would say nothing else, and keep her eyes on him, while taking a glance at the group before back at him. She couldn't cause a scene yet while everyone was here. If a fight broke out, she would need to run. She would have to figure out what she could do here in the meantime in the event it does happen. Perhaps the risk was low, but a risk posed a great worry to her, as they always did.

Caestus looked at the other with a calm expression on his face despite the obviously opposing nature. If he could avoid a confrontation, he would do so. As much as he enjoyed being in the heat of battle, he had more important things to deal with... Besides, she seemed interesting enough. "Heh, figures." He would casually shrug, looking at the tower. "My buissness here? Well..." He took a deep breath. "For starters... I'm an Anti-Shadow Suppression Weapon sent here by SE.RA.PH industries to return the peace to Ueitawa. The name's Caestus." Believable or not, it was the truth. What possibly could he gain by lying to her. He needed to know what exactly was going on here. "And you?" He would raise an eyebrow at her. Whatever was she thinking? He wasn't completely sure if this girl was trustworthy. Then again, the same could be said about everyone he had met prior to this. Maybe all these years of service had made the robot paranoid? To a degree, such a claim would be true. After all... he preferred working alone. Especially after that 'Incident'...

"What exactly is going on here?" He would ask after giving the girl some time to calm down. Even if she didn't possess the information he was looking for, it was worth a shot. Anything he could learn about this tower and Ueitawa's condition, the better. He was here to stop this after all... Surely, Shizuka held all the answers he needed, but she... was nowhere to be found. He would look at the mysterious tower with a somber expression. // I'll find you, Shizuka. Don't you worry... // The climb up the tower wasn't going to be easy, and going up alone at this point in time would be nothing short of suicide... He might be prideful, but he wasn't stupid...

The red moon above loomed ever present above them... He had been here for several hours and yet... it remained still above them, never budging from it's position. It was almost as if... time itself had frozen. Then again, what did he know? He had just gotten here, and his memory about the events that had transpired here was completely wiped. What a good start to a what seemed to be an easy case at first... Great...

Well, he was certainly trusting. He admitted his role so easily, that it almost seemed like a lie, at least to Ruo. Did he know about what she was? Is that why he revealed his true nature? Perhaps that was not the case, but that opening of words shook Ruo's inner paranoid mind, and she would not fall into his trap. "None of your business. Who I am doesn't involve you right now," she said, keeping her eyes on him. He was not getting violent yet, so maybe he was fine to let wander around. The way he spoke seemed to imply as such, so she would lower her arm slowly, still watching him. He was not off the hook yet.

When he asked about what was going on, Ruo raised an eyebrow slightly. "You say that, but you're here to "return the peace to Ueitawa"? Wouldn't you know normally?" It was a valid question. Was he suddenly made recently, or was he a model made during the year of Limbo? It probably didn't matter at this point. She turned to the tower. "Whatever is happening, this tower is the focal point. I figure that much, though that's not really hard to figure out." She said, looking at the group. She could hear small bits of what they were talking about, since that was the only thing you could hear out here. She heard Hibiki's name and "rescue", which did grab her attention. He was in trouble? He was perhaps the only one that mattered right now, besides herself and one other person....but the other person vanished without a trace. The gray-haired man left, and it suddenly gave her pause for thought. Maybe she should follow; not as a group, but as someone just watching. Maybe they would find things she didn't. but that remained to be seen.

She turned to Caestus. "Well, if you're not a liar, I suppose we have a common interest: Figuring out the means to fix whatever this tower is doing. Regardless, don't give me any reason to doubt you more than I already do." It wasn't exactly a threat, but it was clear Ruo was not going to hear much of this man's story, but making him out to be a threat was not going to make this journey any quicker, unless he had useful things to say. He could always be useful when the time came. The android would have to keep an eye on him, the Trusting Android Caestus.

"Well, that's fine if you don't want to tell me..." He would have to gain her trust first, it would seem... A task which would take considerable effort. Gaining trust wasn't exactly easy, especially during these circumstances. He had just showed up, after all... He would've acted the same way in the same situation.

"Well, yes. I was supposed to have a briefing with my handler in Nokawia... I arrived there, met her, and well... That's the last thing I can remember... It might sound a bit far-fetched, but it's the truth... Either I was put on stand-by... or someone has fiddled with my memory banks... Because when I arrived here, This tower didn't exist..." That was a conundrum indeed. What had transpired over here?

"And of course... To make matters worse, my handler is missing... I wonder if the tower's got anything to do with that as well? " For all he knew, she could be in there... "Well, yes. As to how we're going to fix all this... The answers must be inside..." If not, then what was the purpose of it anyway? Why would such a massive structure appear like that? "You have my word..." Caestus nodded slowly, as he offered her a handshake. "For a common goal..." How would things turn out...? Hopefully well, if Caestus had anything to say about it... He looked at the group of people in the distance... "You know them?" Were they trying to fix this as well? If anything, they might know more...

His last memory was the tower not existing....so he did come during the times of Limbo. Odd, but it probably had little to do with this. Ruo nodded to Caestus and looked towards the other man who followed. "Then I suppose you can either tail behind the group here, or follow me. I don't intend to wait on you too long if you slow down. So be sure to keep up..." she said, eyeing him once more when he offered the handshake. What was he playing at?....However, she smirked slightly and took his hand gently, perhaps by involuntary spasms with her system, or maybe she was trying to be friendly for the most part. If he was going to be her ally, it probably served to watch him and in turn be nice to him. Who knows, he may turn out useful, and she would not be opposed to that. When he brought up the group, Ruo turned to them once more while holding the handshake. Sure, she knew them, did they know her? Debatable...it's best it remain that way. She needs to stay in whatever position she was with them before she woke up. It's just....

'...Smarter, and merciful to the both of us....'

Her thoughts continued, and without looking at him, she dropped her hand. "No. I don't know them." The mechanical maiden said. Something tugged at her when she let out that lie. Her face did not give it away, but if Caestus was any intelligent he probably guessed that she was lying. Either way, Ruo did not want to get closer to them right now...it was better to remain dead to them. At least here she had a fellow weapon in arms; most likely made in better condition than her faulty makeshift body. Though her complex did resurface in her head, this person may have just been a kindred spirit in a similar situation as her, and she couldn't cast him away for it. As she likes to say, let those without defections cast the first criticisms. She gave one final nod to him before walking off on the outside of the courtyard as they spoke, hoping to stay unnoticed for the time being. Caestus could follow, or he could stay and tail the other group. Either path may be the key to his answers, she couldn't say. But allies were allies, and it seemed that no matter what, Ruo_06 was always gonna run into them, whether she liked it or not.

Caestus smiled lightly at her in return. She seemed to trust him slightly more than before, which was more than enough for the machine. "Seeing as we have a common goal in mind, I'll tag along. I don't see much reason following them... At least not right now... Gaining their trust isn't going to be easy..." And in a situation like this, who could blame them? For all they knew, Caestus could be something related to the tower... Not that he really was related to the tower in any way. Or was he? Caestus honestly didn't know. The thought hadn't crossed his mind until now...

"Hm?" Caestus raised an eyebrow at her... What was she mumbling about? She did know them... Not a well crafted lie, but he was going to let it slide for now. As long as it didn't interfere with the task ahead of them, he had no real right to pry about things he shouldn't know. "Alright, then... Let's stay clear of them for now... I don't want to cause an un-necessary conflict." He looked at the group of people, narrowing his eyes. "I doubt they would trust me... As things are right now, I can't exactly blame them either... Oh well..." He looked back at his newly gained Ally. "So... For future reference... What do I call you?" It would most certainly be easier to have a name for her, in case he needed to grab her attention... And it was more comfortable having a name to adress when talking. Makes things easier...

As the android walked away from the courtyard, Caestus decided to follow her into whatever awaited them. An Alliance had been forged... And The Comet was glad he didn't have to do this alone... Figuring all this out by himself would've been... troublesome...
