**ALERT!** After a rather eventful evening at Maksim's Party, three teenagers seems to have gone missing. The doors of Vault Olympia have been breached due to a to this day unknown assailant, who sabotaged the doors locking systems, allowing demons to make entry. Thanks to the excellent defensive capabilities of the Vault's Security drones, the Attack was put to an end, and the invading monsters fled to the outside. Right now, the Doors of Vault Olympia are currently open, allowing any survivors of the fall to seek shelter within the Vault's safe halls. What Vault Security officials think of this development remains unclear as the Chief of Police and Security of Olympia refused to leave a comment. This is Rianara, of Olympia news, signing out.

The site is entering a new era as our team of mods works tirelessly on updating old and obsolete information threads and links. Over the Summer, we aim to make many changes to the forum, including writing a comprehensive beginners' guide to help new players accommodate to the combat and other rp systems in place here.

Be sure to constantly check the update thread for any changes to the boards. You can find it ->Here<-

Teriyaki (open) Empty
PostSubject: Teriyaki (open)   Teriyaki (open) EmptySun Feb 16, 2014 12:54 am

Kibin wandered down the main corridor of the mall. His headphones were blasting sythpop and industrial loud enough to cover the sound of the patrons of the mall and the dreadful music playing over the intercom system. His hood was pulled over his head obsuring his face from view. His hands were jammed in his pockets. Anyone looking at him would surely get the impression he did not want to be bothered. Why he would pick the mall over a more quiet place was really quite simple. The school was shut down, he couldn't go back to his dorm, this place had free wifi, and (he wouldn't admit it ) the mall had a pretty good teriyaki place that was relatively cheap and he was hungry.

Kibin rounded a corner stepping into a massive open space where one could look up and see the railed balconys of the upper floors of the bulding. This was the food court and it was absolutly swarming with people, not exactly Kibin's idea of an ideal place but it would have to do. His eyes darted to the veners on either side of the room looking for the desired teriyaki shop. After a moment's time a discoloration in his vision out of the corner of his eye drew Kibin's attention to just the shop he wanted to find. He grinned to his self and internally thanked his subconscience for the enhancements his visions gave. Even when he wasn't aware of it, if his eyes see it some part of him is aware and will relay the data.

Kibin quickly changed direction in favor of a rout that brought him to the food. He walled up to the counter and looked over the menu. This was of course a formality as he already knew what he wanted before he got there, the teriyaki tuna and rice. He turned his line of sight to the man behind the counter. He smiled to the man, a formality again it was expected that he be polite. He cleared his throught and weakly spoke his order. The man nodded and after a moment Kibin had his food and swiped his debt card through the scanner and walked off having paid.

He scanned the crowd. Kibin did not want to sit near anyone he did not know so he sought a table with a barrier of empty tables to act as a buffer between him and the other people. Over there. a female voice sounded in his mind and Kibin's vision blurred. He turned his eyes to the one area that he could see clear. Empty. Kibin started toward the table and his vision returned to normal. He arrived at the table and shrugged his messenger bag off and set it down. He pulled the bag open, the velcro made a ripping sound, next came the zipper which he opened. He reached into the bag and pulled out his laptop. He set it on the table and opened it. Kibin pressed the power button and waited patiently for the computer to boot.

Teriyaki (open) Empty
PostSubject: Re: Teriyaki (open)   Teriyaki (open) EmptySun Feb 16, 2014 12:47 pm

Kagami walked into the food joint that was turned up in the super mall. “It’s surprising that the people here are so carefree, yet though all of this weird stuff has been getting on. Too bad I can’t get a day off from work; the foreman said he wanted lunch so I should go drop it off. While I’m at it, I should find something to eat as well. “ Kagami then sneaked a peak at the menu with his usual smile, he discovered that the menu had anchovies on it. “So they did have his favorite? That’s really awful, but ok. Whatever suits his fancy, it’s not like I’m going to eat it anyway.”  After waiting his turn on the line, Kagami ordered the anchovy meal. He also went ahead and got himself something small to eat as well, a few pieces of teriyaki chicken and white rice. After paying in cash, Kagami started to look around for a seat. So where should I stay? There are great deal of places around, but too many masses. Hmm…” Afterward pondering his next move, Kagami managed to catch an empty seat at a table. Nevertheless, there was someone already sitting there.  “Hmm, he seems like he wants to be unaccompanied. Perhaps I should make him some company!”

Strolling over with his usual grin, Kagami grabs a chair and sits at the table with the man on the computer. “Sup? Watchu doing there?” Kagami figured that he wouldn’t be heard, so he decided to start eating and stare at the man instead. “You're very entertaining when you want to be, but that’s not a line anyone should say on their first date. “ He was having a good time, and he needed time to kill, then possibly he could kill some time here? Only time will tell, and that’s all Kagami had at the consequence.

Kibin continued his wait past the computer's initial start up time. He wanted to be sure all of his virus protection software, firewalls, and proxys were properly loaded and ready for use. With any luck maybe someone will have come seeking out his hacking skills and he could make a quick buck doing someone a favor. If he could do it for free he probably would but, as much as he hated it, he still needed money to survive in this dog eat dog world and as it stood there wasn't a damn thing anyone could do to change that. The screen finaly showed everything was as it should be so the boy dragged all the software windows to the side and opened an ap he designed that he used to host his email through countless third parties so he was difficult to track. He scanned through the recent messages for a while. He was far to engrossed in his mundane checking to even notice when someone sat at his table and started eating. Lost too was the man's speech for Kibin's music was far too loud for him to hear it.

Eventually a song started olaying that was quieter than most. Through it he managed to pick up the last sentence he had said, barely. Something about a date? Kibin looked up from what he was doing and half closed his laptop lid. He stared at the man in front of him for a moment blankly. He tilted his head and blinked. His visitor sure seemed strange but somehow his smile was somewhat disarming and just a bit creepy. Kibin pulled one of the heaphone speakers away from his ears and spoke quietly, "hm? You say somethin?" his question seemed flat and emtionless. The main thought going through his mind was that this man had intruded upon his solitude. Another thought was contrary to that, reminding Kibin that he was in a public place and could not really hold anything against the man. A third voice, the voice of Nogitsune, reminded him that something was off about this man. Kibin shook all those thoughts aside for now and spoke up again, this time with a normal tone."Sorry my music was too loud, I didn't hear you." He didn't want to come off as a jerk so Kibin tried his best to produce an earnest looking smile. He probably looked looked like he was faking but at least it was something. He tried right?

“I was asking if you were waiting for your date. It would be rude of me if I so happened to be sitting in her chair. Then again, these chairs aren’t comfy at all. Don’t you hate that? When we pay good money for food and yet, our asses feel uncomfortable when we sit in their establishment? Seems like an injustice to me..” A simple observation described the person that Kagami was talking to seemed to be somewhat of a NEET? Either that or he was one of those salary men that decided to take a day off from work, by spending it in the mall working. Either or, but that didn’t seem to matter. Kagami took another bite of his meal with his usual demeanor, acting all friendly as usual. As a matter of fact, the meal was pretty good. It’s been a while since Kagami was actually able to enjoy a break, other than run around the city like there was a stampede. The work of an errand boy was never finished, but it did have its benefits. It accumulated favors, and Kagami had plenty of them. “*Yawn*, So what are you working on? I would toss out a porn joke, but the wifi is pretty terrible. Not too sure what hackers are capable of nowadays, even virus protection could be a little stingy and cheep. “It was just small talk, that’s all it was for the moment.

kibin stared at the man a moment more processing his question. A date? Why would he be on a date? People are too much of a bother. "Nah I'm not here for a date. I don't do the whole relationship thing," Kibin started giving a shrug, "or at least I have not yet. I suppose you can sit there if you insist. Its not like I can stop you anyway." He finished. Kibin listened on though making his self appear as if he cared about what the man was saying. In his head though a thought kept recuring, you talk too much. Right on cue Nogitsune's voice chimed in his head I couldn't agree more, he's quite annoying. Kibin grinned dispite his self a visible sign of his internal agreement with the other mind that shared his brain. On the outside though it simply looked as though he was smiling at what Kagami had to say.

At the mention of the chairs' confort he simply shrugged. He couldn't care less about the confort of his chair at the moment. His work had distracted him enough that he hadn't even noticed the "problem." Even still, with the issue brought to his conscience attention, it was nothing more than a minor annoyance at best. "I don't think its an injustice. Its a mall, they can't afford to put in easy chairs at every table." Kibin replied flatly and looked back down to his computer. He tilted the screen back to its proper angle and went back to reading his email. He was still listening and it showed because he still had one ear open for conversation. That was about as good as anyone Kibin didn't know would get, a single unheadphoned ear.

The man's next series of questioning caused kibin to crack a bit of a smirk. Kibin found it somewhat amusing that the man would mention hackers to him. After all he was one himselr. Of course he wasn't about to admit that so he simply shrugged and looked up from the computer. "Just checking my email. Not much else to do with the academy shut down and all the weird stories in the news floating about. Ya gotta stick to where ya know its safe." he honestly didn't entirely mean what he said but a clever change in topic was in order. He didn't want to sound like he knew too much about hackers. In this day and age the man in front of Kibin could be a cop for all he knew.

PostSubject: Re: Teriyaki (open)   Teriyaki (open) EmptySun Feb 16, 2014 6:35 pm

“Safe? The only place that’s safe is anywhere out of the Region, I think the people that stay here are mentally insane. It’s kind of funny, how we can just ignore these things and continue on with their lives like it doesn’t matter. Well, at least they caught the killer. Can you believe it? It was one of the teachers! A bit cliché, but who else would have a fetish for small children, unless you’re catholic?” Afterwards there was a small moment of silence; the intensity of Kagami’s eyes was fierce. It was followed by his usual grin and the continuation of eating his food. “Just Kidding, but I was serious about the people who stay here. If you have the ability to leave, why wouldn’t you use it? It’s so hard to rely on the police these days, I think some of them take the mall cop position purposely, just so they won’t have to deal with this mess.”

Kagami shrugs; this was nothing new for him when it came to his stay at this region. As to how long he’s been here, he feels like he doesn’t remember. Though, bits and pieces of his memory was a little fuzzy, maybe he was always like that. Maybe things were always like this, not being able to remember properly. However, whenever he tied to dig right into it, he feels like there is a wall. “Anyway, have you ever played around with the rumor boards? They probably have some things up that we can check out; see how the other people in the city are doing. Or maybe some doomsday cult going on and on about the end of the world, I would be surprised if that is going on as well. As for the situation as a whole, what do you think about it?

Kagami stopped eating for a while and started playing with his hat. He also occasionally checked his pocket watch; he had to be mindful of the time that he decided to spend at the mall today. Being here for too long can cause Kagami to be sidetracked, and he is usually sidetracked. “My name is Kagami by the way; thanks for letting me sit here. There were so many chairs in this area, but this one was practically speaking to me.

PostSubject: Re: Teriyaki (open)   Teriyaki (open) EmptyMon Feb 17, 2014 11:23 pm

Kibin frowned and scratch his chin listening intently to Kagami. He had a very valid point about staying in the region but some people just couldn't leave. Like his self, Kibin was stuck living where he did. His family worked and lived in the area and they were unable to just up and leave without repricussions. There were bills to pay and they couldn't afford to move and get new jobs. Kibin sighed, he supposed he could always just leave. He had the money in his hidden account to do it but he would not live well and his family would be devistated.

Kibin sighed and shook his head he didn't care much for Kagami's behavior in regards to the murders. While it was good the murderer was found it was terrible that the man sseated in front of him would make light of the situation. Nogitsune's voice interupted his thought process. Perhaps you shouldn't judge too harshly on mere jest. He shrugged to his self and scratched the back of his head. He decided he would remain silent on that topic. Kibin didn't want to converse if he didn't have too.

The mention of the rumor boards, however, caught his attention once more. He had heard of them a few times but never bothered with any of it. He had either been too busy with school work or his freelance work or just couldn't be bothered. Talk of the end of the world, however trivial it sounded, could possibly shed some light on some of the oddities going on in the region. He looked down to his laptop and closed any windows that might look out of place. Kibin turned the computer around."Why don't ya open up the page and we can take a look." he offered. After a moment's thought he cleared his throat, "Oh, my name is Kibin by the way." He supposed he ought to give that much.

(Sorry about the bad quality my mind is kinda scattered)

OOC: Sorry, didn’t mean to bore you. How about some fun then?

“You’re trusting me to touch your computer? That’s a big step, don’t mind if I do. “ Kagami was pretty quick, all he did was type in the web address for the message board and it popped up.

https://newarcana.forumotion.com/f75-rumour-board

There were plenty of hot topics as well, and plenty of replies. “Oh? Looks like there are plenty of things heating up, discussion after discussion. Maybe we should make one of our own and see if there is a reply? But it has to be a relevant question that we can use…” Kagami backed off after five minutes, he didn’t want to intrude any longer, and he already had the page up. So then he decided to think up of a topic that could prove beneficial for both of them. “How about we ask about the quarantines? Maybe we could Find out if there was anyone that managed to get out of them in one piece. People who seen what was over there, maybe a picture or something?”

Kagami then laughed a bit, he didn’t have this much fun in a while. “Or something like that, anything to fuel your curiosity. That was just an example, but you can make a topic about whatever you want. It’s a hit or miss, but once it hits, you might find what you’re looking for.

Kibin watched Kogami carefully. He was not paranoid but he did have a lot to hide on the computer and didn't want the man to get too curious and start poking around in his files. Kagami's remark on trust had Kibin internally face palming. "You seem reasonable enough. Besides I aint got anything to hide anyway." Kibin said in response. It was a lie but Kogami Didn't need to know that.

Kibin leaned in and watched the screen more closely at the mention of interesting information. He stared intently at the words but couldn't make out much. It was difficult to read upside down, Kibin would have to check out this page more thoroughly later on.

"Ya know thats not a bad idea," Kibin replied at the mention of making their own topic, "I'll probably post something up there later on." He had to admit he was very curious about the lockdown and if he could actually find out whats going down he'd be pretty stoked. Kibin didnt always poke his nose into things but no one seemed to know anything and that bothered him.

The man sitting adjacent to him really was annoying but Kibin had to admit, it wouldn't be bad to have some friends and this person seemed to be knowledgeable. The boy pondered on what his next move might be for a moment before deciding to go out on a limb and share his contact info. He reached into his bag and pulled out a notepad he used to keep notes in class and jotted down his email and cell number. Under the number he scrawled 'txt only.' Kibin wanted to keep things on an acquaintance level for now. He ripped the page out of his notepad and handed it to Kogami. Heres my contact info. If ya need anything let me know, within reason of course, this has been an... interesting conversation. " he said flatly and looked down to his plate of food which he hadnt even touched yet. "Seems like I forgot about my food. Forgive me if I'm less chatty, the food was the whole reason I came to the mall." He didnt mean to sound rude but there was the smallest hint of a desire to be left alone in the tone of his voice.

OOC: Your char wanted to be left alone so i left

Kagami exchanged contact information with Kibin and tipped his hat. “Ya, I got to run anyway. Duty calls, I have people waiting on me. I said I was going to be on time, maybe I should make him wait a little longer. “Kagami then shrugs and proceeds to walk off with the same smile he had before. “He seemed a little tense there, don’t like people touching you stuff huh?” At that very moment, Kagami’s smile was a little toothy. He always relished at the thought of being a nuisance, but not as much as he relished the thought of staying alive. That is why he does what he does. Thats another reason why its good to have friends, or business partners.
