In Kanako's base form, she appears very studious and well mannered. This, of course, is the form of her original self and as such is masking the hidden doubts and regrets that she stored into her heart for so many years. She stands at the height of 5'5, and has an average build for a girl her age. Some of her most notable traits are her rosey cheeks and blonde braided hair that falls over her shoulder. Kanako can usually be seen with a mystery novel or some type of book, and is almost always seen studying in the library. On her face are her trademark round glasses that make her golden eyes seem bigger than what they truly are. When it comes to outfits, if she's not wearing a school uniform she has a very modest sense of fashion and style. When speaking, she usually avoids eye contact and keeps her hands near her chest creating a certain barrier between herself and the other she is speaking with.

When in her true form, her Shadow doesn't make a miraculous or abnormal transformation. Infact, she looks rather human excluding the eerie dark aura and keen yellow eyes most Shadows hold. Unlike her other self, she is extremely sloppy and unfeminine. For example; she wears clothes that are easy to put on and doesn't even care to button her clothes correctly, making her look a complete mess. While her other side was so preoccupied with how others looked at her and judged her, and thus changed herself to accommodate them, the Shadow instead does whatever she wants in terms of appearance and punishes those who look down on her.

Personality:

Being a Shadow Self, Kanako is very sinister and does what she needs to get what she wants. She is deplorable and disrespectful; merging into an all out malignant entity who has a complex when around others. Where the original Kanako was insecure about herself and lashed out at herself for it, her Shadow instead lashes out at others for being so much "prettier", "respected" or overall liked. The Shadow does share the same insecurities as the original, but uses it as her strength instead of a weakness like the original Kanako. The stress with family, loved ones, friends, and social status means nothing to the Shadow side of Kanako, as she herself is the only thing that truly matters in the world. Some may respect the fact that she is unwilling to change herself like the previous Kanako, and instead removes anything that threatens her securities and self esteem.

Unlike the Kanako before, the Shadow shows delight in the misery of others less fortunate than itself. Where Kanako was a kind girl that wished to be of use to anyone, the Shadow instead wishes to torment others to make itself feel better. Though both Kanako's are just looking for a moment in life where they feel truly fulfilled, the Shadow does malignant acts to get this way instead of kind acts like the Kanako before her. They both wish for the same thing, yet go about different ways of achieving this fulfilled meaning in life. Though it is to be expected as the Shadow is nothing but suppressed emotions twisted into form.

The Potential

Strengths:

—Strength Name: Malignant Sadist (S. Kanako)
—Description: Shadow Kanako enjoys inflicting pain upon others for her own delight. As such, she has keen knowledge on how to cause the most pain possible with her attacks to the point of her opponents cringing in agony. If they are not pain resistant, they surely will feel the worst pain imaginable when dealing with her. You could say she studied in the art of Pain Deliverance thanks to her real self's constant reading of books.

—Strength Name: Wing Manifestation (S. Kanako)
—Description: In her true form, Shadow Kanako can sprout two black wings for mobility. These wings are the only abnormal form of her transformation other than the blue aura and keen yellow eyes. She has the ability to keep her wings hidden until needing them for quick flight.

—Strength Name: Enhanced Swordswoman (S. Kanako)
—Description: Users are able to demonstrate a natural aptitude for the ways of the sword. The user is able to wield a sword with great proficiency in speed, power, and skill, allowing them to perform feats such as stopping and deflecting projectiles, decimate large objects or areas, cutting through hard materials such as steel, and even hold back their strength to deal damage to their foes without killing them. The allows the user to operate with little or no effort, deliver skillful strikes to weak points with great precision.

—Strength Name: Knowledgeable (Kanako)
—Description: Reading various books, Kanako has knowledge about many things in her life. She believes she has lived hundreds of lives through the stories she has read, and thus she may know things an average high schooler shouldn't know normally.

—Strength Name: Peculiar Surveillance (S. Kanako/Kanako)
—Description: Kanako possesses great knowledge and skills of surveillance, able to spy on and map out areas with ease and gather intel.

Weaknesses:

—Weakness Name: Extremely Insecure (S. Kanako/Kanako)
—Description: Kanako is extremely insecure, and as such she is constantly thinking herself beneath those around her. This inferiority complex hurts her the most in relations with others as she will belittle herself to the point of being either annoying or a hindrance to others.

—Weakness Name: Two Sides; One Coin (S. Kanako/Kanako)
—Description: Though the Shadow is a separate entity that has split from Kanako, it still holds a portion of its original self within it. When in its base form, the Shadow is suppressed and its weaker side will be in control which is the self it killed to claim independence. Instead of being truly free from her "weaker" side when claiming independence, the truth is they merged in a peculiar way to where they are continuously fighting for control of the body. Through high moments of stress, anger, sadness, etc, Shadow Kanako appears. Through moments of insecurity or weakness, Kanako appears.

—Weakness Name: Tch, what a weakling! (S.Kanako)
—Description: Shadow Kanako underestimates humans to the point that she'll honestly believe she can defeat them with ease. She'll handicap herself or even let them gang up on her, just to try and prove her superiority (even though in reality she does it all because she is insecure about herself)

—Weakness Name: Sloppy (S.Kanako)
—Description: Shadow Kanako is very sloppy. She does not complete tasks thoroughly, nor does she do anything else with full effort. She is a half assed person which is was the original Kanako wished to be like before. However, thanks to her insecurities and wanting to be approved by everyone she changed her very self to try and be liked more. Thanks to the Shadow being ones true inner self, she no longer restrains herself.

—Weakness Name: Physically Weaker (S. Kanako/Kanako)
—Description: As she looks, Kanako is not that strong in the least. Her strength comes more from precision than actually being strong herself. Someone could easily overpower her if it came to straight blows or a tuggle of strength.

The Background

History:

Kanako was born in a small home under two parents and an older sister. Though she was the baby of the family she was never treated as so. Because of her sister being an athlete and her parents very into the notion of getting one of their daughters into a professional sport, Kanako found her refuge in the world of books. Where her older sister got the praise from her family, she solely focused on her studies and her reading. It came to a point where her parents literally forgot they had two daughters, as she was so quiet and to herself. To keep her parents happy, she made sure to stay out of sight and out of mind. Atleast then they could pretend they had a single daughter that made them proud. And though this hurt her both mentally and emotionally, Kanako's self sacrificing ways of insecurity kept her against rising against this.

Things would only get worse as she finally entered the educational system and her sister left for college. Her parents expected her to live up to the same expectations as her sister by joining many sport programs and being the pride of her school. Sadly Kanako was just the opposite, finding refuge in the library and skipping all activities her parents had wanted her to participate in. She was no athlete, and as such she could not perform the same tasks as her sister. Going through her years of school, her parents became even more distant from her to the point where they turned her room into storage, thus giving her no room to sleep in whatsoever. However, even through this she still brought herself to school and tried her best to make everyone happy, even when she was secretly hurting in the inside. Throughout her years in school she remained in the background, hardly remembered or even thought of. Even for her third year of high school, she has not broken this pattern and has now become accustomed to it. However, now she has dreams of travelling the world once graduating and leaving her hurt past behind her.
