What is the Port Island Lockdown?:
First off, this event takes place in an entirely different region than our main story. Taking place in Tokonosu, a more western Japanese region with stronger American tones, the setting and people are more diverse than the small mountain region of Ueitawa. Port Island is a man made island in this region that holds the majority of businesses, shopping districts, universities, museums and much more. It is easily the most populated area in the region and is the only area the Side Event takes place in. You're probably asking yourself what we mean by the "Lockdown" portion of its title. Well that'll be explained more during the event, but simply the entire Port Island is blocked off from the rest of the world thanks to military intervention. Barricades have been set up around the outer ring of the Island, not allowing anyone to enter or exit for reasons below. Why is the Island on Lockdown?:
The sudden lockdown of the island is currently unknown... There is speculation that the people on the island are infected by a poisonous gas, but nothing official has yet been released... This section will be updated if you learn of why it was lockdowned once you're in the event.Do the Personas work the same way for the event?:
There are some slight changes to how the Personas will be used in this event. Unlike our main story where one must achieve their Persona by facing their Shadow, your Persona is achieved through stress and fight or flight situations here. In other words, your potential is unlocked through situations of survival
. Remember this word survival
, because this entire event is based on it.
Unlike in our main story, your Personas directly correlate to a Summoning Application that installs itself on your Phone/Portable Game System. Its official name is the "Velvet P Program"
and it allows the user to monitor, organize, and ultimately summon their Persona to their side for battle. The creator of the program is unknown, however its interface allows one to communicate with the manager program that seems to act as a guide for their survival.
The summoning application also has a second purpose of showcasing news reports and clips detailing odd occurrences and deaths that will occur. Notice I put "will" occur, as it can be compared to a fortune. These events will come true if they are not stopped by you players. Some of these death reports may even involve your own characters.
The longer you survive through the event, the more powerful your Summoning App will become and the more prizes you win for your main character(s). And by powerful, this means the more uses it will have, such as a Persona Fusion download, a scanner, etc. This, of course, will be explained more thoroughly in the application's forum. So what is my part in this side event? Do I use my main character and Persona?:
As stated before, this Side Event takes place in another region far from Ueitawa. It is a separate story, and you'll need to create characters for it. The characters for this Side Event don't need to be as detailed as the characters for our main plot. Infact, their personality, appearance, and history can be a few lines. It doesn't matter, as long as we have something to work with for knowing alittle about them. Your main mission through the Side Event is to survive. You will come across various obstacles and people who may attempt to help or impede your survival. As you go on, there will be specific questions and answers you'll need to find before proceeding to the next part of the Side Event. Beaware that the city is in chaos and turmoil thank to the lockdown. There are riots, and gangs going crazy. The military have permission to attack anyone attempting to escape the lockdown aswell.
It is also worth noting that you are not the only Persona users on in Port Island. Many others, good and bad, have come across their own survival situations and have unlocked their potential. Some use this power to gain dominance amongst their peers, while others use it for survival by attacking others for food. This complete chaos makes Port Island a battleground for all who is in it, and a death trap for those without the power of Persona. What sort of prizes do I get for surviving?:
The lockdown will be broken into days. As in, each quest you complete, a day will pass. For each day you survive, you will get an item for your Main Character(s). The longer you survive, the better the item. However, I should note the longer you survive the harder the event will become for you. If you survive through the entire event, you'll get one hell of an item at the end. However, if you die before the ending, you will only get to keep the items you have already unlocked.
For each day posted in the "Velvet P Application" forum, there will be a prize listed with it aswell. Once you complete whatever the Application asks of you that day, your Main Character(s) automatically gets the item. Be vigilant, and you can get yourself alot of prizes out of this event.Post cautiously!!!:
As you've probably already read, this survival side event goes day by day (inrp). You will only have the option of making four threads/topics before a day passes. Each thread will take place during a time of day. If you have a quest you need to complete by a certain time, you could miss it if you post elsewhere at the wrong time. The days go like this:
First Thread - Dawn - The Wake Up gather team and talk thread. This is basically the thread where you communicate with other players or NPCs on plans or anything else to help you survive the ordeal.
Second Thread - Morning - This is when the day officially starts. The first thread created will be the morning thread. It takes place early in the morning when the sun is just rising. This is probably the most peaceful time of day, as most are still hiding out or recovering during this time.
Third Thread - Afternoon - This is when the sun is officially falling. Rioters and gangs take the streets at this time and attempt to harass anyone they can get their hands on. Preying on the weak, they will attempt to take any gear you may have on you if they get the chance. However, they are more passive aggressive at this point, and only attack if you're vulnerable. This passiveness doesn't carry over to the demons wandering around the city. They attack regardless.
Fourth Thread - Nighttime - This is when the sun is officially down. This is probably the most dangerous time to be out on the streets, as the stronger demons and gangs wander the area looking for victims to either kill or steal from. It is advised you're only out on the streets long during the day, but if you must go out, to be out with friends and not alone. It will be also recommended that you find a secure place to sleep in for the night. If you do not, you could be attacked in your sleep. Perhaps make friends with an NPC to stay with them?
Once the final thread ends, the next day begins. Be sure to mark in each thread title what day it is, and what time of day it is. For example:
"Just Waking Up [Day 1: Morning]"
Would be acceptable.
With the start of a new day, the Velvet P. Program will send out the daily Mail to inform you of the coming disasters to occur that day. Be weary, as if you don't bide your time well, you may find yourself dead by the end of the lockdown. Remember, your main course of action is to survive.
**Note - When regarding the weather on Port Island - Temperatures are at a high 60 F
