Gabe was certainly a fast learner, picking up the movements and flow of battle just from the first few strikes. Lui was aware Erin was letting Gabe have right of way to get him started and had to keep his techniques down to what Gabe knew, but both were quite surprised by the new fencer's attention to detail and fleet movements to avoid attack. While Erin could have attempted a parry at the position he was at, it put him in further risk of a follow-up. Knowing Gabe's speed, it wouldn't take long for him to find another weak point. Instead, Erin moved for the parry just as he felt the tip of the epee tap his chest. A buzzer sounded as Lui called the touch then and there. While Erin went to grab a drink before the next round, Lui decided to speak with Gabe. As he spoke, whether Gabe would note it or not, Lui's once cheerful expression in his voice was diluted, as if something he saw was putting him off. Lui knew very well what he was worried about; it was the same way he felt about Zaku. Both were very skilled, Gabe especially from his position as a novice. Would they manage to surpass him and earn the favor of the other members? How long until he was their student instead?

"Nicely played, Gabe. You're certainly built for the fencing sport after all. Certainly much more skilled in agility and technique than when I started off. Are you considering coming back for another session?"

"Fencing does seem like a very fun sport, as well as the fact that the smooth movements and safety of the sport being something that I ould definitely get a hold of. You know, it might seem useless now, or better yet, you might not think that you'll ever use what you learned in classes as opposed to a real situation. However, I beg to disagree, everything that we say or do, everything has meaning in one way or another. "

Turning to Lui, Gabe would wonder if something was on his mind. " You know, if anything is bothering you, it's ok to talk to me about it. You might not know me that well, but I don't have a big mouth, discreetness is atleast something i take into high regard. "

Gabe was a mature man, so Lui did have a confidence that he wouldn't dismiss his thoughts so readily. The two clicked on several subjects and even had a few moments to bond and get to know each other. But like the rest of Lui's close acquaintances, this was something he couldn't simply share with him. Feeling like this towards a new student was not only childish and immature of him but could also hamper Gabe's chances of coming back. Lui was proud to bring new promising training pupils into his preferred sport and the club to facilitate their skills, but this also opened the door for people who were of greater natural talent than him to rise above his skill level and outperform him. No, it was better just to shelf the thought altogether.

Instead, Lui gave as convincing a smile and nod as he could muster.
"Don't worry about it, Gabe! It wasn't that important a thought anyways. Unfortunately, we seem to be running out of time for today's meeting, so I can set you up with one more quick match before we go. Any other opponent you want to try out, or should we just invite Erin over for round two?"

Another match?" Gabe would look at the watch on the wall and wonder just how much extra time that he had. "Well, maybe another time. It took me a while to get here and i have a meeting to attend to. However, i am interested in the sport and wouldn't mind paying another visit. "It was at that point that Gabe had an idea. "How about i help you clean up? Is there anything you need a hand in putting away? I can't stay long, and i do feel bad about leaving when you guys are still in your last few minutes of the session. If there is something i can do, I won't mind lending a hand. "It was the least that Gabe could do.

Hearing Gabe voice his potential return to the club made Lui very happy, breaking out a genuine smile and nod. Somehow he was managing to get more people interested in coming back to be taught in the ways of the sword. Everyone who said he couldn't revive the club alone were being proven wrong every step of the way. But he couldn't relax just yet; these new members still needed training before they could show their skill in a proper team match. Just give it time...

"If you have to get going, then I don't want you to be late. I can take care of cleanup from here. Just put out a good word for us if anyone asks, alright? Thanks for coming!"

As Gabe prepared to either leave or continue their conversation, Lui and the rest of his club got to work setting away the mats and dummies in the closet nearby, sheathing their blades and grabbing their bags as they made their way out of the club room. Lui would wait for Gabe to take his leave before locking up the door behind him.
