''Geez....'', Ace would mutter to himself as he floated slightly above the ground in a slightly less crowded part of the plaza. Don't get him wrong, he loved his job alright, but at times distributing mail could be a pain in the ass. People needed to learn how to be cleared with their address details man. He wasn't a psychic just yet. Maybe that was the next thing to learn though. Would help him sort through these messes way faster.

Shuffling a couple envelopes in his hands, he would squint at them with focus, as if he was hoping they would give him an answer themselves. No suck luck, however. The demon would sigh in mild exasperation at the issue, probably being the most grumpy looking person in the general area at the moment...

It was then that Shinji came along.
A demon was a rare sight for him. Even more so one than one that hovered.
He had never seen one, though that worked for a postal service, by the looks of it.
Then again, this was Junction.
Such strange things were par for the course.
So he decided to venture an inquiry

"Hello Mr. Demon. Are you, perchance, a postal worker? You seem to have awful trouble dealing with those letters for one." he said to it.

Trouble, yes. It was quite the hassle, that was true. However, not one he wouldn't solve with a bit of time. It was his job after all. He wouldn't be doing this anymore if he couldn't handle it. Nevertheless, it did at times take a few double takes, and even extra errands to get everything in order the way it should be. Ace would shuffle the letters a bit more, before his concentration was broken by a voice reaching him from nearby. Lifting his gaze from the papers, he would glance at the guy who approached him. ''Hm? Yeah, I am.'', he would wave an envelope in the air. ''I guess these things are a bit of a trouble at times. As I always say, people need to remember to note down contact details and addresses properly. Everything would be plenty smoother then.'' But hey, no pain no gain, apparently. At least he got paid for doing this stuff. ''Ya interested in something?'' Did the guy want anything, or was that just a random question...?

"Hm. Interesting. I've never met a demon postal worker before. Oh yes. I'm Dr. Shinjiro Kagemaru, ordinary human, by the way." he remarked.
"Mmm. Indeed. I suppose those letters are examples of idiots that forget to that. Although that might be due to how digital communication is getting more popular... not many people know how to write letters." he said.

As for the last remark..
"Yes. You. As I said, I've never met a demon postal worker before. What's it like?"

''Heh, I think there are quite a few oddities to be found in this place.'' People did need to work jobs to afford a better living, and there were surely plenty demonic species around here too. Altogether, that meant many jobs were likely filled by non-humans in this world. Whether you met one on the job was down to your luck, of course, but that was an entirely separate factor. ''I'm Ace, nice to meet ya. You a doctor?'' That was what the title meant, yes? He wasn't necessarily a specialist on academic degrees. Ace would huff in mild amusement. ''The wonders of technology. Some things still require to be sent on paper though, so this happens.'' Yeah, a lot of people opted not to send real mail, but it did happen anyway. Plus, a lot of official documents and stuff were always done this way. Maybe one day digital stuff would replace all paper, but who knew?

Aaanyway...''Iunno man. I've never been a human. I can't tell you how is it different. For me it's quite normal. It's a good thing I don't need to go on foot to deliver most of these though.'' The blessing of having wings. Otherwise however, he wasn't sure how did he differ from any other delivery guy.

"I completely agree." he said.
"Of course. My identification papers say as much. Observe." he responded, showing his citizen identification for long enough for the demon to read.
"True. Very true." he responded, nodding.

That last response though...
He laughed at it.
"Ha. Very true. Most people from what I gather would love to have wings to fly with... does make dealing with traffic easier."

Ace would squint to read the ID shown to him, a little surprised that the man chose to do it that way. He would have been fine with just a verbal confirmation, or being told what kind of doctor the other was. Not like it was his job to verify the validity of what people said, ya know? ''Cool stuff. Was that hard to study?'' Getting an actual good degree was probably never easy. And frankly, he preferred to learn on his own than through educational institution. It offered more freedom when you could do stuff at your own pace.

Nevertheless, he would give the man a slight smirk. ''I bet everyone's got some talent of theirs. Nothing is impossible, apparently.'' Perhaps there were also fish people or such. A wonder how that would work....

"For me, it probably wasn't as hard as it was for other people." he said matter of factly.

"Sure. That's possible. Some people are better at their talent then others are at the same though." he said, shrugging.
... maybe it would be worthwhile to call this demon a friend.

''Heh. So you're smart?'' Or maybe some sort of a genius. Either that, or this guy had a rather high opinion of himself just based on his own experience. How does one really know whether it was harder for others or not? Unless the people tell you, you won't know whether they've spend whole nights studying for tests, or breezed through it without much preparation. ''Well, you've gotta hone your skills too, right? Talent alone won't surpass a person who's also put effort in their abilities.'' Talent helps, but if two people with a similar one match against each other, the one who worked on it more would likely win. Same way a person without natural talent could beat someone who has one.

Well. Smart was one way of putting it.
"Certainly. Though it would be more accurate to say that I learn extremely quickly and well." he said in response.

"Indeed. Experience is always a valuable factor in a conflict between beings." he said.
Well... they shared similar thoughts, so it seemed..
He decided to try pop the question.

"Hmmm... would you like to be friends with me? I find you quite interesting." he asked.

''Close enough, I'd say.'' Being smart meant being intelligent, and being able to learn and understand complex stuff was a type of intelligence as well. It could probably be used interchangeably in most scenarios. ''Sure is. Although I'd rather not fight people unless I must.'' It could be fun at times, but if the stakes were too high, then it would make for quite the war. Ace would blink as he took a moment to stash away the bothersome envelopes he had been holding away for now. ''How eager. Sure, why not though? Knowing more people is always great.'' Unless they were an unpleasant sort.

Indeed. He felt more confident in his decision by the second.
They really did seem to think alike.
"Indeed." he said, remembering how he had done quite a bit of running. Nothing annoyed a person intent on assaulting you more than you running away out of their grasp.

He had said yes.
"Excellent." he thought.

"Perfect. Sadly, I have other things to tend to. But before I go, let's make sure we can stay in touch...what's your number, sir? Here's mine." he asked him as he whipped out his phone.

''Agh, shoot. That reminds me I still need to get this mail sorted out and all.'' Guess he himself couldn't stay around loitering for way too long if he wanted to get this done and still have enough free time left for the rest of the day. Nothing would be more annoying than wasting an entire day away on doing your job, no matter how entertaining it happened to be. ''Anyhow, sure, here.'', he would add once he fished out his phone out of his pocket. ''Well, I suppose I'll see you sometime later then.'' If the guy was serious about hanging out and all. One can never be sure of people's whims after all.

He sighed.
Why couldn't more people be like him?
Ah well. At least the interaction was interesting enough.
Perhaps he would make a call sometime...
