Heya! I'm your friendly neighborhood Larsinny, a demon here to keep you updated on the current debacles going on within the site! Okay, maybe not debacles... Anyway! The Endymion Plot, our Third Main Plot, is underway! We also have our sideplot taking place called Junction! If you're a new member looking to join the new plot, you will want to choose Endymion. However, if you're interested in our sideplot, you may also join that one aswell. The choice is ultimately up to you! The Dungeon Master of the Junction plot is CWIS and the DM of the current Endymion plot is Godai and Grantus.

All templates on the site have been updated, and this also includes the rules aswell. When referring to the rules, please disregard any that say "Old" or "Obsolete" as we are no longer using those rules for the Endymion Plot. Oh, don't be mistaken! I love breaking the rules! But in this case, follow them or erasure!

Be sure to constantly check the update thread for any changes to the boards. You can find it ->Here<-

Naoki Yoshioka
”Hahaha... it seems you’ve underestimated me greatly. Well, worry not, folks - for I’ll show this miscreant just what I’m made of! Here! Comes! YOSHIOKA!”

The Biography

Birth Name: Naoki Yoshioka
Aliases: ‘Oki, The Spokesman (mostly just what he calls himself)
Gender: Male
Age: 18
Birth Day: November 12th
Arcana: Devil
Place of Residence: Tsurinai Estate, East Eden
Academy Semester: Third year
Class: (We'll fill this in once you're approved. This will be your class in school)

Sorority: None

Part/Full Time Job: Spokesman for hire. Need someone to speak? He’ll deliver a show that will blow everyone away. Or so he advertises.

Appearance: Yoshioka is lean but pretty sturdy, having some pretty good muscles underneath his thin figure. He stands at 6’4” and weighs about 180 pounds. He has black hair that’s almost absurdly shiny and bushy eyebrows, as well as violet eyes and a slightly pale complexion. He dresses in a gray suit with black buttons and brown dress shoes. The pants of his suit have a megaphone clipped to a brown belt. All in all he gives off a very “fancy” air, until words start coming out of his mouth. In battle, he even wears his suit, not bothering to change.

Personality: On the surface, Yoshioka seems like the boisterous, dull-witted type. He’s very enthusiastic about everything he does and pretty much always speaks into his megaphone, giving him an immediate “you cannot ignore me” vibe. He tends to act like he’s in some sort of battle arena, constantly addressing an invisible “crowd” and generally being rather oblivious of the situation around him. He seems rather slow to catch onto things and looks like he’s stuck in his own little world.

However, inside, Yoshioka’s... well, not a completely different person, but still not one to be trifled with. While his enthusiasm and entertainment shtick is genuine, his obliviousness is not. He acts as such to throw suspicion off his real behavior - a cunning, manipulative conflict-lover. He can care for others, but he primarily focuses on his own entertainment and whatever’s good for him. That being said, he has a very bouncy sense of humor, and he definitely won’t keep anyone bored. But he still shouldn’t be underestimated.

The Potential

Strengths: (Anything your character is skilled in, such as Martial Arts/ Drawing/ etc? You are allowed a maximum of five strengths and a minimum of three.)

Strength Name: Psychological Charisma
Description: Despite Yoshioka being... very up-in-your-face, he’s actually a pretty charismatic guy! He knows just what to say to get people on his side. More specifically, he’s good at psychological techniques. While there are a lot, his favorites are framing, where he presents something so that it sounds a lot better than it actually is (for example; 4/10 people recommend this brand, as opposed to 6/10 people are against this brand) and the foot-in-the-door technique, where he gets someone to do something small and then gets them to agree to a larger technique. He operates on many routes of persuasion. He starts at level 2 Charisma/Deception.

Strength Name: Tsurinai Combat Training
Description: Yoshioka’s really good at throwing boomerangs. Due to being a servant of the Tsurinai family, he got extensive combat training with them, and they’re the only weapon he’s trained in. He’s really good at throwing, catching, all that. He’s also got an accurate eye in general due to this, so he can usually do decently with a gun. He gains +15% to Dex.

Strength Name: Manipulation
Description: Yoshioka’s greatest asset is his manipulation. Since he’s got his facade going on, he can use it as a distraction for people so they don’t notice certain things he says. He tends to speak well enough to nudge people in the direction of certain actions that he thinks would be fun. So if he’s not doing direct persuasion, he’s pretty good at doing indirect persuasion. He gains double the points in Charisma/Deception.

Strength Name: Obfuscating Stupidity
Description: Since Yoshioka fakes stupidity, he can slip under people’s radars and remain beneath suspicion. Only a select few actually know his real behavior underneath his boisterous mask, and as such he’s good at making it so people don’t take him seriously, and as such drop their guard. RP Only.

Strength Name: Strategist
Description: With the right tools, Yoshioka can be an effective planner. He tends to enjoy making strategies to achieve a goal. He’s not the best planner ever (as mentioned in weaknesses, with his lack of improv skills) but he’s still exceptional at laying the groundwork. Leadership combat skill.

Weaknesses: (You must have the same amount of weaknesses as strengths. These weaknesses pertain to you and not your Persona. IE: Physically Weaker, lack of attention span, etc.)

Weakness Name: Lack of Physical Strength
Description: Yoshioka may have some muscles, but he’s... really weak. He’s not trained in fist fighting at all or any sort of weapon other than the aforementioned boomerangs. He has decent enough stamina, but can’t take many hits before he gets tired out. RP only.

Weakness Name: Awareness
Description: Yoshioka can manipulate people well when he’s hiding behind his facade, but when he’s not? That’s a different story. People who are aware of how he works can avoid his manipulations fairly easy, or just people who pay more attention to how he speaks. Manipulation only goes so far. NPCs he has a Social Link level of 5 and above with see his Charisma/Deception as one level lower than it is for the purpose of QASes.

Weakness Name: Lazy
Description: Yoshioka tends to rarely get involved with things himself due to laziness. Granted, he’ll step into the fray if he needs to, but he rarely does things himself, preferring to let others do the work. He’s not lazy to the point where he won’t do anything, but he tends to be rather slothful in general. Due to his laziness he can't make full use of combat roles - Vanguard only gives 15% Endurances and 5% to attacking stats, while Rearguard only gives 25% SP and Luck.

Weakness Name: Bad Improvisation
Description: Yoshioka may be a good planner, but when things go too far off the rails? That’s a different story. While he’s exceptionally good at improvising in speeches, he’s not so good at improvising with complex plans. If things get a little out of hand, sure, it works. He can steer things back on their proper course. But if things get too far out of hand, well, then things get sketchy, and he usually can’t get everything back on track. Not good at doing things on the fly, to say the least. He has to go through Level 1 Intelligence twice.

Weakness Name: Frustration
Description: It’s difficult to get Yoshioka angry, but when one does... yikes! Granted, he’s not completely helpless, but if he gets frustrated enough he becomes way less rational because he’s just not used to the feeling. It’s also hard to calm him down, so he tends to be stuck in the phase where he can’t plan effectively and just lashes out at anything in sight. He's 15% more likely to be hit by the Rage ailment.

Soul Bound Weapon:

Weapon Name: The Spokesman’s Vocal Cords (SVC for short)
Weapon Description: A steel boomerang made out of silver, with a few holes in it. When it’s thrown, small blades emerge from the holes, and when it returns, the blades retract. It’s about 3 inches long and 3 inches wide.
Weapon Image: None
Weapon Attack Type: Slash
Weapon Element: (Leave this blank. Only special weapons obtain an element behind its blows.)

Side-Arm Weapon:

Side-Arm Name: The Spokesman’s Enforcer
Side-Arm Description: A small black revolver - simple enough.
Side-Arm Image: None
Side-Arm Attack Type: Gun
Side-Arm Style: Revolver - Single Shot - Accuracy is increased by 20%. Consumes only one type of ammo per use. Can shoot only one enemy at a time.

The Background

Yoshioka had fairly humble beginnings. His family worked closely with the Tsurinai line - specifically, as Servants, and as such he was pretty much born into the role. Something about him was always... off, though. Never really minded pain, tended to disregard others. While he wasn’t like this in public, and was loyal to whomever he needed to be loyal to, he was still rather strange. His parents were decent people, but they couldn’t take care of him effectively, and as such they didn’t really stop his behavior. He carried out his jobs efficiently and was a pretty good person to be around, having enough charisma to get by. So there was no reason to complain, right? He remained loyal to the family and was all in all a fair asset, even though he had a bit of a sadistic side. He was tutored by an adult from one of the other Tsurinai families as well, so he had a basic knowledge about Shadows, Personas, what have you. He also received private combat training in boomerangs, of all things - he had a naturally good throwing arm, and knives and daggers weren’t his thing, so they tried out boomerangs and the weapons just clicked with him.

However, as he continued his line of work as a retainer, he was getting more independent. Everything felt so boring... granted, he could get his entertainment from time to time, but he always craved more. Something fun, something... interesting. He was luckily loyal enough to his family to avoid trying anything on them. Still, while he brought up the topic, nobody would actually respond to his needs. However, eventually, his “salvation” came, as he would put it. Out of nowhere, the family decided to send him to a place in the US - Endymion. Yoshioka was excited - new people to meet! New things to see! New ways to cause fun stuff to happen! It was just as he dreamed. When he asked why the sudden decision had happened, he was pleasantly surprised to learn that he supposedly had Potential. That filled him with another kind of excitement... and things just kept escalating from there.

Of course, Yoshioka needed to be trained, and he was willing to train for a year before he took the job - anything to break up the monotony. While he was generally rather weak, he received more combat training and grew very skilled with his boomerangs. His reflexes improved, but his biggest asset was learning about strategic thinking. Yoshioka was already fairly educated, but the strategy techniques he learned made him more of a force to be reckoned with, and as such he primarily focused on that due to his low physical strength. After an entire year, he was finally ready, and after packing properly, he was sent overseas to Endymion. Excitement bubbled within him. At last, the chance to break free of the routine... a chance for so much entertainment and glory. When he at last arrived in the US, he took a bus to Endymion, getting settled in the estate with an open room.
