| “Maybe they evolved.” Selenus commented seriously, though the words he spoke could’ve been misunderstood for sarcasm. “Or maybe it was the fact that in the Divide they were fresh out from the depths of hell. There could be a million reasons.” There really could be. They didn’t know the first thing about demon-kind, so trying to explain something as complex as the complete inperceivability of a species previously completely recognizable with that level of information would be investigatory suicide. “Instead of trying to figure out “why”, we should be trying to figure “so what”. Yesterday we saw a Demon who claimed to be working for the queen, yet we can’t explain it; so let’s not explain it. Instead, let’s focus on what it means that there are demons – or at the very least demon-like creatures- claiming to work for the Queen.” Selenus paced as he spoke; it helped him formulate ideas better.
Eventually, his steps would bring him back to Gabe’s side, and Selenus would stop and sit. He looked up at his friend and spoke again. “I don’t mean to sound like a tin-foil-hat-wearing conspiracy theorist, but… could it be at all possible that the government isn’t hunting demons, but rather enlisting and using them?” If this was true, the true nature of the forces behind Endymion would begin to make a lot more sense to the robotic canine.

| "Ok, well that much is certain. There are demons who will side with the government. However, does that also mean the opposite? Does it mean that there are demons that exist in this world that are willing to side with us as well?" Gabe would then pose that question. "The way this looks, this struggle is a two way street...and we just so happened to be on the opposite side of royalty. " Gabe then listened to the comment that Selenus mentioned about the enslavement theory.
"You know, you won't be that far off. If we haven't been there to save that child, he would of possibly been taken, along with the pryo jack being kidnapped as well. Gabe fully sobered up as he looked at Selenus." We need to get to the bottom of this. If the government is taking people and changing them mentally, they basically legalized kidnapping. | |

More like ignoring human rights when it’s convenient to them.” Selenus’s tail wrapped around his leg as he spoke, as it tended to do when he was experiencing intense emotions. ”Let’s just hope the Phantom can give us a lead as to what exactly is going on, he seemed to be quite friendly with the demons, so he must have experience in this subject.” Come to think of it, hadn’t Pyro Jack and Jack Frost been directly instructed by the Phantom to test them? That meant he held some sort of authority over demons, and from what they’d seen yesterday demons didn’t exactly think too highly of humans. For one of them to not only earn the trust and respect but the complete loyalty of demonkind… he definitely had to know exactly what was going on. “I don’t know about you, but once we reach the Phantom I am shaking him down for every single answer we can get out of him.” | |

| "Well, is it that they ignore it, or we ignore it? Look at it this way, the great divide happened, and those that are eternally grateful wont question the guiding hand of the government. Back in the old times, not so old times, remember having a president? The upper of society, in either education or wealth, they always had some kind of hold when it came to the law. In a sense, we went backward, there is a queen once more, and we basically handed back out democracy. With a little bit of history lessons and looking at the results of the British rule, i would assume that people would of wised up. "
Gabe only shook his head at his own statement. "As long as the majority of the people need protecting from the demons, they will submit to the sense of royalty. If we go with Trinity's plan, anarchy has the potential to tear down our very way of living. You know this, dont you? " Gabe then shrugged. " Bearing the label of a terrorist, not once have i considered our positions as the one of heroes, but maybe i'm getting ahead of myself. If we want to know more about the phantom, might as well ask those that he associates with, the pryo jack and the jack frost. "
Gabe then rubbed his temples. " We can only hope we see them again. " | |

| Selenus stopped pacing the moment Gabriel brought up the subject of Trinity’s plans for the future. He knew perfectly well that giving every single persona live access to the power of persona would definitely spell a certain end for society, even if Trinity meant the exact opposite… but he didn’t have the heart to tell her that. It was practically her final wish, how could he outright deny it? All he could do was go along with it and hope that they never found the way to do it. He doubted such a method even existed in the first place, so he wasn’t too concerned on that regard, but it did worry him that he’d either have to eventually break the facts to her, or allow her to die disappointed. After they’d had such a meaningful talk about what it meant to live and how one should die… he couldn’t do the latter and forgive himself, yet he was too scared to take the former route. He was a coward. “I’m well aware, Gabe. It’s not going to happen. Let’s just leave it at that.” His words would have an air of finality about them, as if determined not to allow a single word more to be spoken about the subject. | |

" Well, fine, i'm sure that whatever happens tonight happens. As long as we are able to get through it without getting hurt, i know for a fact that any sort of information that we learn along the way will be beneficial to us. | “I guess it is.” At this point, Selenus had basically resigned to the fact that there wasn’t much they could even do at this point. He looked at the nearest clock around, and realized what time it was. The moon was almost at its highest point in the sky now, and that meant he and Gabe had business to attend to. “Hey… it’s getting late. Let’s pick up the other two and get to work, shall we? I hope you’re sober enough by now to do so.” Selenus looked at Gabe expectantly, examining his features for any sign of remaining inhebriation. In these brief moments that they'd spoken, Selenus felt he understood Gabe a lot better... but he was still wary of his drinking habits. | |

| "I'm fine, we could go now..." Gabe would say as he got up and walked over to the coat hanger. After grabbing his coat and fiddling with his keys, he would put the glass of down after finishing the water inside and escort Selenus outside of the door. "Well, let's get going. We shouldn't keep our friends waiting. " After that Gabe would make his way to the meeting place with Selenus.
