| Just another night at the Hole In The Wall. People talking, drinking, doing whatever. People like Telos, who was currently trying to get himself drunk. And making quite the spectacle out of it. "DRINK! DRINK! DRINK!" The small crowd gathered around Telos chanted as he drank down another glass. You see, tonight for Telos was a special night. Tonight was the night he proved why he had the best damn spot in the bar. A.k.A, the point at the counter that was equally distant from the stage, the door, and the bathroom.
"Any other challengers?" Telos said, engaged in a massive drinking contest.
This was how it worked: Two men start a drinking contest. Loser is the one who gets drunk first. Loser pays the winner's tab. Fun stuff.
"The score is 24 glasses for me at this moment, and 12 for my latest opponent. Can anybody beat that? No? Then please, let me drink in solitude." He said, the crowd slowly and quietly dispersing.
Telos sighed quietly once they did so. "How foolish. They don't know when to quit. Bartender, get me a glass of the sweetest cocktail you can brew. Put it on that guy's tab. He owes me." Telos said, pointing to the guy who had challenged him as he called the bartender over.

| "I really wish they would simply enjoy their brew's quietly! It is so hard to work under such loud conditions! I have half a mind to go over there and give those gentlemen a good talking to! Which for me like about three point six nine minds for them so you can plainly see my predicament..." J grumbled to himself as he grabbed another soapy dish from the sink and rinsed it off. In a rare show of good will and family values, J had decided to help out in the bar tonight and try to keep Kay off his back for spending all his time in the lab.
"J, we all know what would happen if you went over there," Kay said with a smile as she counted out the drinks from the contest and added the charge to the loosers tab."You would say something witty and smart and charming, then they, in their drunken rage, would take it as an insult and punch you in the face, then I'd have to come over and kick them all out for the night... We'd end up loosing money you realize. So do us all a favor and stay put for me, got it?"
"Oh very well My Dear Kay, I shall stay here for you're sake." J said with a Chuckle, his full attention on the dishes he was working on and not the dark glare that Kay had began to shoot him.
"How many times do I have to tell you, I am not your Dear..." Kay felt a vein pop in her forehead as J broke into a posh laughter.
"I apologize for the floor show," Grins said with a chuckle as he began to pick up the empty glasses from the contest."I must also apologize for this next part, ya know, the part where I say you've had enough and I'm going to cut you off my friend. Ehehehe, I don't need you dying in my bar," Grins eyed Telos with a wide toothy grin."You packed away quite a few, best to now stop eh?"

| Telos nodded, sighing. He usually didn't go drinking, but tonight was her birthday. Or it would have been anyway... The birthday of his creator. "Alright. I think i'll stay around a bit longer, though. No real person to come home to. At least, not anymore." He said sadly.
"You know... it's funny. The reason why I came here tonight was to celebrate my.... friend's birthday." He said, unsure of how to describe her. "Or, to be more accurate, commemorate it. She died in the Eternal Divide, you see." He added. "But that's not the humorous part. The humorous part is that she was older than I am, chronologically, yet, physically, she was younger than me. Isn't life funny that way?" He asked the bartender.

| "Ehehehe, You don't say? Well my my my, aint that the saddest story of the night," Grins shook his head, his flawless smile unfaltering. A dry laugh echoed in his throat as the spheres on his hat began to glow faintly. Without missing a beat he would reach for one of the dirty mugs left behind by the contest and begin to clean it. "Drinking alone on a dark and dreary night, morning the loss of a good friend, on her birthday no less, well I must say if that isn't the pits I don't know what is, Ehehehe, excuse my laughter my dreary friend, but I can't help but chuckle... As you said, it's funny,"
Grins would eye the man carefully and nod solemnly, "The age difference isn't the joke here friend, the joke is the cliche'... I can't help but find it amusing... Though if it will help I am sorry for your loss," As he cleaned, 8D would begin to hum the happy birthday song quietly to himself. The man was clearly beyond depressed... Mayhaps Grins should cheer him up."What do you get... When you cross a fox with an Ox?"

| Telos notice those spheres glow slightly. "Some kind of odd clown hat? Or....? No. Probably the former." He thought. He smiled slightly at the man's laughter, glad he got the joke of how cliched it seemed in hindsight. He unknowingly smiled sadly when he heard the 'Happy Birthday' song being quietly whistled by the bartender. That brought back memories of a happier time. It was a happier moment back at the lab. The staff was talking cheerfully, laughing. Today was his birthday.
And at this moment, he was about to open his presents. The first one he opened was hers.
"Here you go, Tel. This is yours now. All of us, even grumpy old Freddles here-" She began to say, holding out a box with a red ribbon on it before he cut her off.
"Ahem. Victoria.... what did I tell you about shortening a senior officer's name?" He said, tone slightly condescending.
"Aw, don't ruin the mood, Fredrick. This is HIS day today, remember? Relax!" Dr. Kent, another member of the staff chimed in, slapping the commander on the back. The Commander sighed in response, seeming to let it go as everybody seemed to laugh once again.
"Anyway... this is for you! Go on, open it!" She said. He gingerly opened the box, and inside... was a set of clothes. "What... are these?" He asked them, looking at the set of clothes layed out before him. The belt with a skull buckle on it was of particular note.
"Don't you get it? They're human clothes. Starting tomorrow... you'll be able to go outside the lab, and meet the rest of the outside world!" She said.
"Thank you very much." He said, smiling. From there, the party once again resumed, with other gifts being given. Dr. Fiddleford gave him a cane with the lab's insignia on it. Dr. Kent gave him a cell phone of the latest model. Dr. Pierre gave him a pocketwatch. Commander Bismarck gave him a wallet with various dollar bills and coins inside as well as a human ID, keys to the lab, and other identification related paperwork. Victoria took off with the paperwork. And so the party went on, and he kept reminiscing about it, until the bartender broke the spell by telling a joke."Hm? I don't know. I'd say a fox and a ox, or a chimera." He said in response, pulling out that same pocket watch now to look at the time briefly before putting it back. - OOC Notes::
The exact people in the flashback (note: Marian and Fiddleford didn't speak here) are those responsible for Telos's development. Once, he was seven years old too, you know. The flashback is to his seventh birthday party: Dr. James Fiddleford: A brilliant computer scientist, he now runs an antique bookstore in the backlight district. Dr. Richard Kent: A brash, daring sort of person, he was on the dev. team as a Mechanical Engineer partially responsible for the design of Telos's body. Nowadays, he's the manager of a hardware store. (Former) General Frederick Bismarck: Once a brilliant general in military force, he now is a minister under the queen's command. His authority lets Telos get away with the lab, the financial things, and mostly mundane things. Looks stern, but surprisingly kind... in a stern, fatherly way, once you get to know them. Dr. Victoria Stine (Deceased): Telos's (beloved) creator. Dr. Marain Pierre: A brilliant psychologist specializing in Jungian psychology, she was responsible for Telos's mental upbringing, and now works with 'special' patients... and general psychology. I think if he were human biologically, he would have been unknowingly crying, eh? The reason why he's flashing back to his own, and not her's, is because he's thinking back to his own birthdays, and let's face it, this is interesting. In case you didn't know, those clothes she handed him are the very one's he's wearing now. And most of those things he was given (sans the cellphone, he bought a newer one, the old one is at his home as a keepsake) he still has with him to this day. Before, he was wearing a hospital gown, so don't worry about him being nude.

Ehehehe!" 8D would chuckle to himself as he recognized that dazed and confused look on his costumer's face. He was GONE to the winds. Checked out, out to lunch, tripping balls, and to put it bluntly, just not paying attention to what was going on here. 8D smirked and moved on to another customer who was demanding a Long Island Ice Tea, but unfortunately 8D only had the stuff to make a Medium Island Ice Tea. When the odd man came out of his trance and continued the Joke, 8D would smile and return.
"A very Lonely F, Eheheheheheh! AhahahahEhehehe! Oh that is my favorite joke! I love it!" He would laugh heartily to himself for a solid three minutes before composing himself enough to continue the conversation"Aha...haaaaaa, so Drinky, you were out of it for a while, what's on your mind? Is she petty? Eheheheh!"

| "Hm? What was she like? She was nice..." Telos said, both slightly amused and bemused at the strange clot-bartender's conduct. "As for what was on my mind... it was my birthday. These clothes were a gift from her..." he said, letting himself trail off. "A light Red Wine Spritzer, Vintage of 1969 or less. That was what she always drank at those parties." He said, finding the memory suddenly pop into his head. Perhaps it had to do with the alcohol here? | |
