| This had always been one of Callie's favourite places to visit, it was always so peaceful around here and exploring the vast plains and rural forests looking for any signs of wildlife and unfamiliar flowers had became one of the girls most loved pass times when she was on her own. On this particular day, her adventures had lead her into one of the many forests scattered around East Eden, following down a small path that had been forged between the overgrown foliage from years of people wearing down the grass as they walked through. The girl would stop every so often to inspect a group of flowers, or to look overhead at the birds or squirrels who made this place their home. Everything seemed so peaceful.
However, someway into her walk Callie's ears perked up from under her hoodie at a strange sound. Letting curiosity get the better of her, she set off looking for the source of the sound. It didn't take her too long to find as her hearing had always been quite good at giving her directions, plus the source of the noise wasn't that far off of the main trail. Anyone else who was wondering past would of been able to hear the cries of something coming from within the forest.
As Callie drew closer, she quickly noticed the orange fur that surrounded the creature in question. It was a fox cub! An injured one at that, the poor little thing seemed to have damaged its front left leg quite badly, not even seemingly having the energy to get back up onto its other paws on its own. Without hesitation, Callie approached the injured fox and knelt down beside it. "Aww... Poor thing, that looks like a horrible injury! Hmm... That just wont do, don't worry I'll make sure you get all betters!" The girl leant forward towards the fox, which it responded to by letting off a sharp growl and trying to snap at the girl. "Hey, hey, hey. None of that, come on little fella I'm just trying to help you." As if on a whim, the fox would stop lashing out at the girl as she once again raised a hand towards it and stroked the poor things head. "There we go, see? I'm not here to hurt you."

| "What is that horrible sound...? May it please desist and stop existing?" "I do not know... But, we are maybe getting closer?" The boy's mental conversation with his shadow would go on further as he walked through the woods. He rarely actually came into the forest, preferring the dirt roads and open fields too the close corridors of the trees, but it was still pleasant. Bird songs and cicada screeches were always nice to hear... But today a most unpleasant noise ensued.
It honestly sounded awful, crying screams of some sort of animal. The boy and shadow had no idea what it was, but they decided the likelihood of it being a demon was small. So why not investigate? They walked through the forest fairly quietly, soft steps making their way forward towards the sound. Except it suddenly stopped. Strange...
The boy would still move forward, but with no real direction. His sense of smell wasn't grand and it was always quite difficult to go on nothing but hearing and vision... Both with which were scewed within the forest... Maybe they'd find their way too the fox and Callie, but as of right now they... Were very lost.

| The orphaned fox cub would close its eyes as Callie stroked him, the girl wasn't quite sure if it was because the little thing was scared of her or if it was all tuckered out after having such a rough day and having to screech out like it did in order to get any attention for help. Either way, she was glad that the fox had at least calmed down a little, the noise it was making before was rather painful up close. "Hmm, well you're certainly behaving yourself very well now aren't cha little fella?" The girl would stop stroking the cub for a moment to take a closer look at the little things leg, she didn't want to touch it just in case it made it worse but she didn't know what else to do by herself... "Are you all alone?" The girl would ask, staring around to see if she could see anyone else around. She assumed that the poor thing must have someone taking care of it, but whether it had been a person or the cubs mother they weren't around anymore... "Come on fella, I'll make sure I get you somewhere where we can fix you all up, 'kay?"The young vixen would carefully lean over and coup up the small creature and cradle it in her arms. "There we are, that's not so bad huh?" Callie would say in a reassuring voice before turning around to head back the way she came. Yet something made her stop. She could smell something... Something familiar. She was almost positive it was Zavie's scent! W-what was he doing out here? It was no matter, it would be nice to see him now after their talk this morning! Maybe he could help her out with the little cub too! | |

| Still walking quite aimlessly, the boy would huff and cross his arms. Didn't he pass this tree three times already? He was almost positive! After all, look! There were footprints in the mud right next to it! Oh... Where was the way out? Why did forests have to be so confusing?
"Ummm... Well, maybe if I follow my steps I will get out of here!" the boy would say, looking down at the footprints made in the mud. Except, past that there weren't any footprints or any indication anyone had walked anywhere. Well, he hadn't climbed the trees! Where could the exit be...?
"Tsk... Turn around and head down that path possibly? It will lead you out of the forest..." the boy's shadow would say within his mind before he turned around and noticed the dirt path. The boy would smile happily, walking over to the path and looking both ways before stepping on it... But um... Which way was out from here...?

| As the girl would hurry along, trying to catch up with where Zavie was going, Terra had a bad feeling about all this. "Ya know, is this really a good idea?" He'd begin. "I mean... What if that cub does have a mother and it comes back looking for it later?" The shadow would say within Callie's mind, a hint of jealousy emerging with this newly found fox that the girl was giving way too much attention to for his liking.
"Terra! You saw him out there, they must've been crying like that for ages and no one came for them..." The girl would look down at the cub in her arms, it seemed exhausted as it had practically fallen asleep nestled into her. "Besides, it's clearly hurt and in need of a good rest. We can just make sure he gets better and then he can go back to the forest if he wants to, 'kay?" Whether the vixen would stay true to her word or not was a different story though.
"Look! There he is!" Callie would say to Terra as she finally caught sight of Zavie. So it was him out here after all! As she would try to approach closer, the little fox cub would raise its head and stare at Zavie intently, releasing a soft growl. "Hey! Zavie! What are you doing way out here in the forests?" The girl would say in her usual happy tone before looking down at the cub. "Huh? What's wrong?"

| The boy would look... Possibly up the road for a few minutes before his ears perked up from under his hat. A person? Yep, those were people feet. And then a voice, a familiar one to boot. The boy would turn around to see Callie, a smile on his face before he noticed the fox.
"Oh, Callie! Hello... Oh, I could ask the same... I was just trying to find this really weird noise aft-" the boy would begin his explanation before Proxy would hiss angrily in Zavie's mind. He was confused before he noticed the fox in Callie's arms wasn't the fox from last night... And that this one was now giving him a death glare."C-Callie, that is not a fox, c-correct?" The boy would ask with a tinge of fear in his voice. Not the fear as in the fear he was expressing earlier that day. No, it was more of the 'climb into a tree and hide from the dog' kind of fear... As in avoid whatever dog it was that was in his presence as best as he could. Which was an honest true as he took a step back towards a tree out of instinct. Oh... This would be an interesting event.- Relevant Weaknesses:
—Weakness Name: Bow Wow! O-Oh Noooo… —Description: Zavie’s affinity for cats is only matched by his non-affinity for everything canine. Dogs hate him. Quite literally. If a dog sees the cat boy, it’ll most likely chase him around out of spite. Barks, growls, and the whole works spook the boy and fighting a dog like enemy would probably end badly for him…

| "Hehe, I'm just out here getting some fresh air after a long day of work." The girl would reply truthfully, she had no real reason to be here other than she just kinda wanted to get out of the house and explore somewhere new for a while. And this forest had made itself quite the fun little adventure to explore!
"Huh?" The girl would tilt her head to one side in confusion from the fear and panic that seemed to follow Zavie's happy welcome. He seemed to get scared a lot... "Who this little fella?" She'd reply patting the foxes head, making the fox stop growling but it still didn't take his eyes off of Zavie. "Yeah...? He is a baby fox. That strange noise you heard earlier was coming from him. I found him out in the middle of the forest all alone with a hurt leg. He was making a lot of noise over it so it must be hurting him real bad, so I decided to try and take him home to help him feel better!"
Ya know, carrying a wild fox around isn't exactly normal right? They can be dangerous if they want to be, even if it is just a cub. He's probably just being paranoid again." Terra would reassure the girl from within her mind. It wasn't like Zavie hated foxes right? C-cause he didn't hate her did he?

| E-Eeeeeh... It was a fox. Proxy wouldn't stop hissing as her eyes could be seen glaring at the fox from within the bead chain in the boy's hair. Well, at least it was injured and couldn't exactly hurt him. He still wanted to climb up the tree faster than... Well... A squirrel, maybe? Regardless, it was one of his top priorities.
"Mm... W-Well... Um... Um..." the boy would muter, not really sure how to say what he was thinking. Ick, helping a dog...? That was a terrible idea... It just stank of failure and pain and scares. But... Callie was his friend and he had fought demons before and survived! So... Yeah!
"I-If... You want me to, I could try and patch him up... I, um, know how to take care of small animals... I have so many cats we do not always take them to the vet when they get hurt, so, I learned how to take care of them." the boy would say taking a timid step closer to Callie and the ball of possible death and despair residing in her arms. This was a bad idea... Demons. Demons any day of the week over dogs.

| Callie would tilt her head in response to the boys stuttering's... Was he really that scared of a little fox cub? A-an injured one at that... She wasn't sure what he had to worry about, even if it wanted to do something it had no way of chasing him at this moment. Although she did find it strange how the little fluff ball was reacting to Zavie being here, almost as if it had a nature hatred for the boy. He surly didn't do anything to upset the fox in the past, right? "Hey, come on Zavie! There's no need to freak out over this. I promise you, he's harmless! He couldn't chase after you on his injured leg even if he tried! Y-yet animals can normally sense if you're nervous around them, so just try to be calm so he can be calm too. 'Kay?"
"Y-you think you can fix him up?" The girl would question back timidly, she was surprised by the boys sudden offering of help, even if he did still sound a little tremply as he spoke. At least he was trying! That was great news! Maybe the two of them could learn how to be friends some day? "Sure! If you think you could help ease his pain that would be great! B-but I dunno if you could help him completely, he might have a broken leg." The girl would say with a weak smile, the fox cub lowering its head back into her arms but still keeping a watchful eye on Zavie as he came closer. The fox felt safe with Callie, so hopefully he could stay calm enough for it to all be okay if she kept ahold of him?

| He knew it couldn't chase him, of course. However, he was more afraid of the barking and the biting and the evil glares he was sure to receive and was receiving from the fox. Dogs hated him, and quite frankly, the feelings were mutual most of the time. Demon dogs... Oh, let that just stay a nightmare...
"I-It is not so much chasing... As it is everything else he can do..." the boy would say timidly as he continued taking slow steps forward. Proxy was advising against this strongly. If there was one thing she hated more than the slug that overthrew her, it was dogs. Vial beasts loyal to a fault and with no poise or elegance. Horrid creatures, all of them.
"It looks like he does... But, um, I have some cloth with me. We can bandage it up and maybe make a splint for him... There are enough twigs here to make that work. But... He might just rip it up... He is wild, after all..." the boy would say, holding his hands together tightly in front of him. This was just terrible... Why did Callie have to find a fox? Why not a cat? Then he could talk to it...

| Callie would look down at the fox cub in her hands, she truly didn't understand what Zavie was so scared about... The little thing seemed harmless to her. "Ya know, I'm pretty sure its too young to even have big boy teeth yet." The girl would say, scratching the foxes ear to get its attention off of Zavie as he approached. "And usually, anytime I have seen an animal make loud noises, its usually more in self defense to scare off a threat! Ya know? The bark is often worse than the bite!" She'd say sharing another reassuring smile whilst Terra continued to sulk, not wanting to put input into this conversation.
"Oh! That would be great!" Callie would reply excitedly, anything they could do to ease the cubs pain would make her much happier about all this. "Here, I've got an idea." She'd say, proceeding to sit down on the ground to have a better hold of the fox so it couldn't squirm as easily. "If you are that scared of him, I'll hold his head away from you whilst you make the thingy so he can't do anything to you? 'Kay? I promise I'll keep him under control!" The girl would nod, hoping Zavie agreed before resting her arm over the neck of the fox cub so its head was behind her arm but its body and legs were still on her lap. The cub seemed to put up little effort to stop this happening, and with Zavie out of his sight had stopped growling as well.

| It didn't matter if it had big teeth or not... The fact it existed so close to Zavie was enough to put him on edge. He had never hated dogs, but they had always hated him. After being chased around the back alley like a rat for an entire week, the boy had become very cautious around such animals... At least it wasn't a wolf...
"The word you used 'usually' means that they also usually do it to be feared and to be mean. Trust me... I know how mean dogs can be..." the boy would say, huffing and crossing his arms. He was in arms reach from Callie at this point, pulling out a roll of bandages from his pocket. He always made sure to bring some in case he saw an injured cat.
"Um... Won't he get mad that you're holding his head in a weird way? Plus, he can still hear and smell me..." the boy would say, not really wanting to follow through with the plan anymore. Dogs were terribly mean... It'd probably try and scratch him if he even touched it...

| "No, no I have his head supported well, he shouldn't mind! As long as you quickly bandage him up he shouldn't make too much of a fuss if I keep him distracted." The girl would say, leaning over to the side to see the fox's head, stroking it with her other hand and telling him everything will be okay. "After you've done it you won't have to go near him again! I promise!" She'd add with a bright smile, it felt kinda hurtful for her to hear how much Zavie disliked dogs, especially as she considered herself as at least half of one. Yet she wouldn't let that bring her down, he had seen her abnormalities that one time before and still wanted to be her friend!
If Zavie were to proceed with his plan of bandaging the cubs leg, he would squirm at first not really knowing what was going on. However with Callie trying to keep him calm he wouldn't be able to lash out at the boy and instead would merely wait until it was over to see what was being done to him. "Once you're done fixing him up, do you wanna walk back to the bar with me? You were going to come by and meet up with me and 8D tonight anyway weren't you? We could head back together!"

| With a hesitant sigh, the boy would indeed go forth with his plan. Honestly, being so close to a canine made him sick... It was like being super close to a demon's body... It was freaky and scary and weird. But, regardless, the boy would quickly bandage the fox and take a few steps back, heaving a deep sigh afterwords. It was like he had just poked a sleeping bear with a stick...
"I-I did it...! Phew... T-That was terrifying..." the boy would say with another deep sigh. Oh, he never wanted to do that again. Though, he'd look up with a light nod. That was right... He supposed he could walk with Callie and text his parents about it...
"Um... Sure, I do not mind... I just need to tell my parents... I do not want them to worry." he'd say simply. He really didn't want to go anywhere tonight... But, it'd be okay, right? Nothing bad could happen... Right? Right...

| Callie would smile brightly at the boy as she let the little fox cub look around again so that it could investigate this new thing that had appeared on his leg. "See! I knew you could do it Zavie, that wasn't so bad right?" She'd say, giggling at how scared Zavie seemed to look about this whole thing. She really didn't understand what he was so scared of, but honestly she thought it was kinda cute to see him scared over a harmless cub. "See, you're all better now!" The girl would say to the cub as it sniffed at the bandage on its leg curiously.
"Oh awesome! I'm glad you decided to come after all! I wasn't sure if you'd end up wanting to after our conversation this morning, but don't worry! 8D has a plan of what we'll be doing and I'm sure he'll keep us safe, 'kay?" The young vixen would say as she got up and started heading for the path that led to the exit. "Come on, this way! I know a short cut!"
