Current Events
Updated: 20/07/2020

**ALERT!** After a rather eventful evening at Maksim's Party, three teenagers seems to have gone missing. The doors of Vault Olympia have been breached due to a to this day unknown assailant, who sabotaged the doors locking systems, allowing demons to make entry. Thanks to the excellent defensive capabilities of the Vault's Security drones, the Attack was put to an end, and the invading monsters fled to the outside. Right now, the Doors of Vault Olympia are currently open, allowing any survivors of the fall to seek shelter within the Vault's safe halls. What Vault Security officials think of this development remains unclear as the Chief of Police and Security of Olympia refused to leave a comment. This is Rianara, of Olympia news, signing out.

The site is entering a new era as our team of mods works tirelessly on updating old and obsolete information threads and links. Over the Summer, we aim to make many changes to the forum, including writing a comprehensive beginners' guide to help new players accommodate to the combat and other rp systems in place here.

Be sure to constantly check the update thread for any changes to the boards. You can find it ->Here<-

Somehow gabe managed to find himself back at his place that he left a day or so ago. However, he did have a spooky story to share with the red hair woman, so he kind of hoped that he would be here today. “Pardon the intrusion…” Gabe would say as he walked in after knocking, he didn’t necessarily know what he would see or be in the middle of upon walking in. So at that moment, it would be very much of a surprise. “ Do you have a moment?” Gabe would say casually to her, wondering If she did have a moment or not.

Touko was just casually smoking from her cigarette with mug in her hand while sitting down on her swivel chair. Another mundane morning, but not for long as a familiar face appeared through her door. She smiled at his arrival. The redhead casually dipped the dying cancer stick into the ash tray and left it there as it was soon to be extinguished.

"Of course, what do you need, dear?" she asked curiously.

Ah, nothing of the sort that needs a definite worry. But it is an interesting idea that i wanted to share with you. "Gabe would say as he took a seat accross from her. "Remember the time i told you about my encounter five years ago? Hypothetically speaking, there was a remnant from that that i had with me, a pumpkin seed of one of the monsters. So then, i decided to grow it not too long ago. " Gabe would say with a grin, seemingly excited for it. "So, what do you think it'll turn into? Something edible, or something even more than a pumpkin? I felt as if you would have a small appreciation for things weird but interesting, so i wanted to tell you about. "It wasn't like gabe had alot of people to talk to about it.

Touko tapped a finger to a chin at the news. Would it grow to become a pumpkin? No, that would be far too boring of a conclusion. But, she since she didn't exactly have the kind of equipment to judge the quality of this city's land, perhaps it would be something more interesting than that. And given the city's mysterious nature, she wouldn't be surprised. "Perhaps it'll just grow another? I would be careful when growing it. The supernatural isn't as well-documented as people think it is. Be sure to practice caution, dear."

"You want to hear something about that word? Supernatural? I always thought that supernatural was just a way to explain things that we arent used to seeing. Maybe...due to the fact that we have less experiences with them, its considered less natural, even though it might even be more regular than our everyday lives? " Gabe would say as he sat back" In everyday life, you are exposed to dangers, wonder, and awe. There are plenty of events that go on, that could change your life for the better or worse. If its looked to be more natural, you are less surprised. And if you are less surprised, you are better prepared for it. "Gabe would then look to Touko. "What about you? What do you think?

She leaned comfortably back in her chair while listening to her visitor. He had a rather interesting way of viewing things. There was a certain kind of wisdom in him. It did make her seem happy that he had showed some awareness of his subject matter. And she did agree with a lot of it. "I can certainly agree with a lot of you said. And yes, lately, supernatural has always been an umbrella term to label phenomena that is rarely been seen in the human experience until lately. I believe we are still in that transition of getting used to these new additions of this world. But how that transition will fare will depend on the people and the demons here. We may have another repeat of five years ago if that was the case, but who knows?"

Another repeat? Well with all the hopes that i have, maybe it won't end in genocide this time. We are led to believe that the government and the cadets will surely protect us. If they are in fact doing their jobs, does that mean that we will be saved?" Gabe would say as he shrugged " A long time ago, i was faced with a choice ya know, in order to hurt someone in order to save myself, or trade all of my safety an security in exchanged for theirs. And, i ended up being saved by pure chance, you know the story. " Gabe would then push his glasses. "It makes me wonder, we are waiting for people to save us and they never actually end up showing up when we want them to the most. " Gabe would turn to Touka again. What would you do in my old situation. One for all...or all for one?

"Good question. But unfortunately it does not apply to me," she replied nonchalantly and cryptically while fiddling with a pen in a way that it twirled between her dainty fingers, "I'm only an observer. All I do is... watch. My time for action has faded away long ago. Fate has presented its pieces and would watch them go. So I can't say anything about it. But, I can say this. Whatever action you have taken, you can always take heart that it was the best one you've taken at the time. You've done what you could, there's no shame in that."

"Doesn't apply to you? I can't necessarily see what's so different between you and me. Or better yet, there is a scarce amount to actually discriminate from. " Besides the womanly looks and gender itself, what made her different? Nothing of the sort in Gabe's opinion, which should make her prone to have the same experiences, no? "I'm not too sure that i understand, but it seems to be that you managed to take on this permanent claim of being a voyager of life. You might think your time has passed, but i don't think so." Gabe would say with a smile. "Sitting back and deciding to retire yourself sounds great an all, but i think in all actions, there is purpose and meaning, like me being here right now, having this conversation with you.

"I'm just that special," Touko coyly replied as she made one final spin of her pen and pointed at Gabe, "But at the same time, not as interested as you, I'm afraid. I don't see myself as altruistic anymore. I had my fill of it already. And besides, we have young people like you willing to step up the plate. As for people like me, it's only fitting for me to move out of the way and watch."

Ah well, in the terms of age, some people like to claim that i'ma lot older than i'm supposed to be. And it's funny because i'm only 22. "Gabe would say as he laughed. " You look pretty young to me if thats any consolation prize, i would guess that i could say you was at least in your late 20's if anything. If you would like to call that just me giving everything the benefit of the doubt unless proven otherwise " Gabe would then sigh. "You know, i dont have that, the unwavering faith in trusting the future to the new generation. Simple fact being that i am apart of this new generation and its hard to say as to how much i can actually offer the world . You could only trust yourself in the sense of getting a job done the way you want. So, i dont think youll watch forever. But thats just a personal opinionated speculation.

"Age stopped mattering to me a long time ago," she shrugged at his compliments, "It has little meaning to me since time moves on no matter what I do. That's a simple basic fact of life. There are better things to be concerned about."

She stretched back with her arms in the air. Touko had been sitting in her chair for so long even before her guest arrived. After stretching Touko simply laid her chin on the desk and grinned lazily back at Gabe. It was almost as if she were a cat, perhaps that was why she preferred them over mongrels.

"It's only natural. You're young and inexperienced, eventually you will become more confident and competent over time. Have some faith in yourself, because no one else is obliged to do it for you," she replied while shifting over to her left shoulder, "Perhaps I might. But I won't see it happening soon. It all depends on the cogs that Fate runs on. We shall see."

That was pretty peculiar, the thing about time. I kind of feel as if its an irreversible commodity that we always end up wasting a bit in any shape, way, or form. I mean, it only moves forward, we all have what's limited, and we can never really get it back. You know what i mean?" Maybe she did, she kind of saw things differently than Gabe did. "Faith, ahh... you got a knack for motivational speaking, perhaps you should dabble in it instead? Gabe would say to her with a small chuckle. "Alot happened, i just hope that i am ready for the consequences or the backlash of whatever i get involved in. Saying you'll only "reap the rewards", of something is dismissing the possibility of things going wrong. I'm, a little more...careful

"Aging is what it is, just another step closer to the grave. The growing relevance of human mortality in people's lives does that. Humans can be such foolish creatures. But that feeling of becoming useless can certainly be a frightening thing. Age consumes what we were once capable of before. But it's how humans deal with that mortality that makes them so intriguing."

Touko wondered how the young Gabe would react to this. Perhaps he would notice how she seemed to view humanity in a detached third person view. She wondered where this little ball of potential can end up to. The woman smirked in amusement, "Don't mistake me for such people, Gabe. I'm just saying what is true in the real world. But I think you'll do well, and if you need any advice, I'm always present for it. "

Gabe was a little bit stunned, making a questionable face.

The haunted pumpkin [touko/gabe] Giphy

Your words do hold some truth. Though, there was a saying that my father always told me. The fact about humans, their potential is limitless. Infinite if you will. Right now, we seem to be in a stage where some things seem impossible, but those barriers will soon cease to exist as well. " Gabe smiled. " it's because that it can end at any moment, that nothing is promised after i leave this room, tomorrow, or even the end of the week... that i chase my aspirations so diligently. Our only source of immortality is the memories we exist in, what history remembers us for. I plan to make my mark a lasting one, which is why im writing that book.

"Gabe would then stand up and bow."Thank you for the company. It was a short visit. Though, i do appreciate your support. Who knows, maybe i'll take you up on that offer and you can get the first copy of One punch Frost. " Gabe would then proceed to leave. "Till then, Miss Touko..."
