Current Events
Updated: 20/07/2020

**ALERT!** After a rather eventful evening at Maksim's Party, three teenagers seems to have gone missing. The doors of Vault Olympia have been breached due to a to this day unknown assailant, who sabotaged the doors locking systems, allowing demons to make entry. Thanks to the excellent defensive capabilities of the Vault's Security drones, the Attack was put to an end, and the invading monsters fled to the outside. Right now, the Doors of Vault Olympia are currently open, allowing any survivors of the fall to seek shelter within the Vault's safe halls. What Vault Security officials think of this development remains unclear as the Chief of Police and Security of Olympia refused to leave a comment. This is Rianara, of Olympia news, signing out.

The site is entering a new era as our team of mods works tirelessly on updating old and obsolete information threads and links. Over the Summer, we aim to make many changes to the forum, including writing a comprehensive beginners' guide to help new players accommodate to the combat and other rp systems in place here.

Be sure to constantly check the update thread for any changes to the boards. You can find it ->Here<-

Belated Meeting (Calabus) O56non

Touko did feel kind of bad. It's already been five years and yet she hasn't come by to visit her. Though she blamed the interesting times when Isla Lamecia and her crew established the order that the city knew today. Five years was pretty fast to reestablish it to this kind of state. Was it a testament of her ability or luck? Part of it, to Touko, it was likely a mixture of the two. The former Velvet Attendant could only wonder what that lady is doing as of this moment cooped up in her own realm where no one can easily reach her.

Belated Meeting (Calabus) TKdhCEx

"Mmn, it's about time."

It was a nice vibrant and beautiful inn before her. The building was surely complete with the exotic aesthetics of the archipelago. This was evident once Touko entered the entrance which greeted her with the sights of gardens with Zen rock gardens and other characteristics. It didn't take too long for the woman to reach the area where the front desk attendant was. She rested her right arm on the desk while holding onto her purse that hung on her left shoulder.

"Excuse me," she would ask, "Where may I find Miss Calabus?"

PostSubject: Re: Belated Meeting (Calabus)   Belated Meeting (Calabus) EmptyWed May 18, 2016 11:08 pm

The pale young man that attended the front desk in the morning had thought that he would be getting at least some form of rest when Calabus had come to relieve him earlier that morning. He had hoped that the girl that acted as the day time back up would actually show up this time around instead of forcing him to stay up longer than he preferred or needed to be. However, as luck would have i,t the girl decided to pull yet another sick day and so instead of a bubbly receptionist, the guests that walked in to the inn ended up with a somewhat warm welcome from the young man.

He was still straight to business as usual, but he seemed to at least be a bit more kind then he was to the man named Gabe that had come to the inn earlier that morning. Maybe the reason for the change of attitude was because unlike the morning, he was forced to deal with customers more frequently rather than one here and there. Regardless of what made him force friendliness out of himself, the young man would be pretty much on auto pilot when the woman came in. He had somewhat zoned out a bit in a small lull between customers, so when the woman leaned against the counter and asked her question, the young man delayed for only a second as he looked over at her with strange mismatched eyes in a dazed fashion.

At first he was thinking to give her an automatic answer to such inquires, but upon actually focusing on the woman, the young man would blink a few times as he saw a strange aura around her that suggested that maybe this chick wasn’t exactly your average human. Deciding to become a bit more respectful than he usually was due to the fact she may be a spirit or some other supernatural entity, he would lean his hip against the counter as he folded his arms across his chest.

“The boss is currently attending to a guest. Maybe I can help you instead,” the young man said as he watched the woman curiously. She seemed quite familiar, but why he could not quite place his finger on. Who was this woman?

Touko seem unperturbed at the odd appearance of the young man. Other than the cluster of horns starting jut out of his cranium, his mismatched eyes would normally be subject to scrutiny, but she didn't seem to be at all too surprised. Rather she seemed to regard him with some curiosity. But based on his appearance, he must be masking himself otherwise. It is a public inn after all. This place promised to be an interesting stay here.

Belated Meeting (Calabus) TX1ORux

"She's busy? Hm, perhaps I should have scheduled beforehand. Is there a time when she's not? She and I have something to talk about."

She swept back a hair while keeping calm eye contact with the man. He studied him for a bit longer, and pretty much figured he isn't quite a human being which is quite obvious with his appearance. There isn't exactly a whole lot of demons that she would pop up in her mind from her cursory examination. But she kept her lips tight on the matter. Touko wasn't here to look at supernatural beings in broad daylight, rather she was here for a certain individual.

She started to take off her glasses, and her demeanor seemed to change in a snap.

The young man would observe the other for a bit taking note of the look she gave him as she seemed to study him back. While she didn’t say anything, he had to wonder…did she actually see him? Like really him? And if so what did that mean about the woman? She was solid enough like himself to pass as a human and yet that energy she gave off suggested she was of the supernatural variety…

She was just not any demon or spirit he could think of the top of his head. He remember hearing a rumor a long time ago about a world that existed between all worlds, but…those sort of tales could not be true right? Hmm…it was hard to say. Even harder to say when he had such a strange woman in front of him. She kind of made him feel dizzy, but whether that was good or bad was yet to be seen.

In any case, he would blink as she spoke. To her words, he frown a bit as he dug under the counter to pull out the planner that his boss owned. As he placed the thing down and open it, he was briefly reminded why he avoided touching the thing in the first place. There was stuff scribbled all over it in barely legible handwriting and yet his boss swore she could read the things she had written. As he looked at the pages, he would shake his head at the other.

“Well…you could "attempt" to schedule something. Although that might be a waste of time considering she is all over the place,” he would say as he gesture at the book before shutting it again and pushing it to the side. Jeez that thing gave him a headache.

“Anyway…Not to seem noisy or whatever, but what is it you needed to talk to her about? If it is important, I can hunt her down for ya if ya like,” the young man would say as he leaned against the counter watching the other watching him. He wasn’t sure how he felt about the study, but then again he wasn’t going to make a fuss about it either. It wasn’t hurting him, so no biggie he guessed.

In any case, he would let her do what she liked until her attitude seemed to change when she took off her glasses. To her next words, the young man would raise his eyebrows in amusement at her word choice.

“Esteemed. Heh. That is…an interesting way to put it,” he would mutter with a slight smirk before shaking his head and looking up at the lady once more.

“She shouldn’t be too much longer. Though if you plan to wait it out, then I suggest you come back here with me. At least you’d have a chair to sit on rather than stand there,” he said in casual tones as he pointed towards the small path that would lead her around to the side of the counter where a small entrance rested.

Regardless of if the woman chose to act upon what she heard or not, the young man would lean against the counter as he gave her a curious gaze for a moment before he blinked and spoke once more.

“What is your name?” he would ask her, surprisingly starting idle chat with the curious woman.

Belated Meeting (Calabus) D6EuET3

"It's some information that I promised to give her. She may want to hear it for herself. That and I do wish to apologize to her for the long wait."

Touko considered her options as she swept back a hair once more. Scheduling was not an option as the attendant described, she could have him bring her out, or just wait. The last option was the most feasible. With a nod, she allowed her arm to leave the desk and then went over to the direction that the attendant offered to her. "Touko Aozaki of the Reflective Grotto. And yours?"

“Information, huh? She will love that. Even more since you are keeping a promise,” the young man would say giving her a light smirk. That was always a pleasing trait to see in folk, so that alone would probably gain her the forgiveness she sought, but wait a minute…

“So you’ve met the boss before this? How odd. I don't remember ya and trust me I would indeed remember ya if you came this way before," he said as he looked her up and down suggesting that looks were half the reason he would be able to do such a thing. Even so the act wasn't done in a offensive way as his eye easily returned to hers.

"When and where did ya'll meet?” he would ask as he slipped off his chair to get the other one behind the counter as the lady decided to take him up on the offer and actually sit with him. He would set the chair near by so she didn’t have to walk far and then wait for her to sit before sitting back on his own chair. Once settled again, he would answer her question.

“Mmm. Gemini Sphinx though you can shorten that whichever way you want,” he would say as he leaned back in the chair crossing one leg over the other as he observed the woman for a bit before tilting his head at her title. “The Reflective Grotto? Is that a business or a group?”

He would ask the question trying to get to know the woman a little before his boss actually came down to retrieve her.

Touko shrugged nonchalantly as she replied, "Five years ago, on the same day and place when the demons first made their debut. That's when and where we first met."

It was such a chaotic day. She remembered being burnt by a Pyro Jack back then. Touko still had those burns, they weren't much of a bother though.

"An interesting name," she remarked with her head tilting to the side, "The Grotto is a humble business. Not so widely known, but I do provide my advice... on matters of inhuman origin and handle some odd jobs from time to time."

“What a time to meet someone,” Sphinx would say as he watched the other with a thoughtful expression. He couldn’t remember her scent, so she must’ve bumped into his master well before hell was unleashed and the demons graced the world with their presence. The fact she survived meant she was either very lucky or maybe just stronger than the rest. It was hard to say with so much going on and the blood that hung in the air back then. It was an insane day for the humans and one heck of a wake up call, but he couldn’t complain. Life wasn’t so bad playing caretaker for humans. Anyway…

“Hm? What do you find so interesting about my name?” the demon would ask raising his eye brows in curiosity. Whether the woman humored him or not, the demon would eventually turn his attention to another subject brought up. To her words about her business, he would watch her for a second before his eyes closed and the demon smirked revealing just a bit of his fang like canine teeth in the process.

“Advice… on matters of inhuman origin and odd jobs, huh?” he would repeat before opening his eyes again, his interest fully arrested now by the woman. “Just where do you come from that allows you to have that privilege?”

He wanted to hear what the other had to say; however, around the time he was settling back to wait for a potential answer, a voice would interrupt them.

“Oho, trying to hog the ladies are you, my dear?”

The voice was a feminine one and one that even after five years would still be recognizable to any who had heard it.

Coming out of his relaxed state, Sphinx would unfold himself as he leaned forward in the chair, his laid back air and smirk gone as he glanced up at the woman dressed in a kimono standing on the other side of the counter. It was Calabus.

“I wish, but so unfortunate for me, she came here for you. Guess you win this round, boss,” the young man would say as his eyes drifted from Calabus to the woman who had humored him. He would look her up and down with an expression that was hard to read. “Though I wouldn’t mind another encounter with her. Hopefully she’ll come around more often,” he would say as he stood up from his chair and gave a light nod to the woman.

“Thanks for the chat. Maybe next time we can have a longer one,” he would say before moving to a door towards the back and simply disappeared right as he reached for the handle. It would be an odd thing for those unfamiliar with spirits, but maybe for the lady now alone on the other side of the counter, this would be normal. Who knew.

“You are quite something Ms. Touko. It’s not everyday he take to people. You must be something special,” Calabus would say as she leaned on the counter with her familiar smirk in play. “So you finally decided to come and stay? I was wondering how much longer you'd make me wait,” the young woman would ask her tone casual and friendly, but her eyes mischievous and alert as she watched the other with amusement. Five years was a long time to make her wait, but at least the woman had come, so perhaps she would hold her other end of the bargain from back then up also.

In any case, the gaze would last for a few more moments before Calabus jerked her head lightly as a way to tell the woman to come with her. From there she would push off the counter and begin to walk away at a casual pace. If the woman joined her, she would speak once she was at her side. "How has it been these past years?"

Belated Meeting (Calabus) LcNkpSS

"It's not exactly a typical human name. Though there are people who end up with strange names from time to time. But, I digress."

In her travels, she remembered hearing some pretty odd and sometimes pretty inane names in her time. Tremora, Veca, Mysterioso, Delta, Add, and many others were the ones that popped up in her mind. Then again, this creature wasn't human anyway. Though, for his sake, maybe having a more human name would be better. It did sound like some kind of stage name.

Touko gave a quiet smirk. She wasn't going into any depth about describing anything about herself. Nor was she all that interested really. But, even if she was, the inn's master has finally arrived. She gave a knowing look towards Calabus and watched the exchange between them. "My pleasure, dear. Let us meet again next time. Nice horns, by the way."

She noted how he seemingly disappeared and didn't mind it much. Touko found herself giving herself a small giggle, "Doubtful. I suppose it must be my glowing personality? Oh well. He was an interesting one."

Of course, she was kidding. Joking aside, she focused on the inn's master robed in kimono. The redhead sighed and waved a hand of resignation as she followed Calabus.

Belated Meeting (Calabus) 7eMZEpn

"Ah, my bad. I've been held up with the general chaos in the beginning of these five years. I was too awfully entranced how our oh-so-gracious Majesty was able to bring this city to such prosperity. But other than that, I suppose I'm fine. And you? You seem to be doing well with an establishment like this."

PostSubject: Re: Belated Meeting (Calabus)   Belated Meeting (Calabus) EmptyWed May 25, 2016 10:03 am

Not exactly a human name? That was an odd call considering humans were the oddest of all creatures. They seemed to name themselves what they liked to be named and pretty much did whatever, they liked. If anything a name shouldn’t matter…even if it was a mouthful.

Regardless of this, the young man would give her perplex look as he considered her words and then coming to some form of agreement within, he would grin as his arms crossed.

“Perhaps so, but I wouldn’t change to just fit in with them,” he would say to the other not seeming to correct what appeared to be a slip of the tongue.

As for his own question, the woman didn’t answer as she only gave a smirk in turn. Oho, so she wanted to play mysterious? How fun; however, just as the fun started it seemed the fun would end as Calabus showed up to take over. After a brief discussion and a comment that had the young man pausing by the door and looking over at the woman with an air of amusement more so than surprise for a moment, the demon would take his leave.

Alone with the other Calabus would grin.

“A glowing personality is a start. Doesn’t hurt that you got some looks to add on to the charm, if you don’t mind me saying so,” Calabus would say before nodding at the other comment. “Oh he can be, but don’t take his play too lightly. If he gets attached, you might find yourself being put to work. He can be a bit of brat like that,” she would say with a light chuckle before moving away gesturing the other to follow. She didn’t seem to be too bothered by the comment about horns, but then again five years ago this woman could see that cat boy no? So would this be a surprise? Not really.

In any case, as the woman caught up with her Calabus would continue to smirk as she moved through the main part of the inn, pausing only once to grab a basket by the door that led outside of the inn. With the basket in hand, she would head out into the gardens as she listened to the other speak.

“I suppose I can forgive you in light of the events. It was pretty amazing how she got everything back under control so nicely; however, for myself I am afraid it was a bit of a warzone around here before I actually got this place settled. My mixed clientele didn't see eye-to-eye for a while there,” she would say as she moved down the path. “But things are balanced again, so I can’t complain too much about life. The business keeps me on my toes and it’s a nice income too,” Calabus would say to the other with a grin before becoming quite again.

“So tell me, have you come to relax or perhaps deliver something?” she would say after a while her dark eyes sliding to the side as she looked at the other next to her.

"My, quite the flatterer, aren't you?" Touko chuckled lightly at her statements, "I see. I shall make good note of that."

The woman took note how Calabus took up a basket. Perhaps she was going to pick something out from this garden that was clearly thriving under the inn's supervision. But listening to the inn's master, it sounded as if there were quite a bit of turmoil here and there for her. And this resulted for her thriving with this kind of establishment, good for her.

"You do remember the promise we had five years ago, yes? It seems there's something bigger lurking around than most of us have thought."

Oh yes, the redhead had remembered what that feline little boy had said. One might have thought it was too good to be true. Yet, for such a big operation as the Eternal Divide, it wasn't such a huge stretch. So Touko told her about what she had heard from the boy and the very entity who may very well be around even today...

Belated Meeting (Calabus) Empty
PostSubject: Re: Belated Meeting (Calabus)   Belated Meeting (Calabus) EmptyFri May 27, 2016 10:56 pm

“But of course. Got be pleasing to all,” Calabus would say as she gave the woman a wink. It was a bit fun on her part, but not completely a lie. The woman did have a nice body, so why not say so? Besides, it was always fun to watch some unprepared for such actions wig out about it. Luckily this one took the play with more grace than others. Impressive. In any case, the play would die down a bit as she gave the other a small warning about the demon she had been speaking with.

It was nothing harmful, but still something to be watched out for. If the demon was given too much slack he could easily ring many into helping with his work load. She had seen it done many times and perhaps should’ve stopped him back then; however, the times he had perform this trick, they were swamped so extra help was appreciated. If she had known that said trick would extend beyond swamp days and he'd actually latch onto customers that got to comfortable with him, she would’ve stomped the habit out. Ah well. It was embedded now, so all she could do was give a light warning here and there and leave it up to the other if they would listen or not. After all, she wasn’t going to complain if someone allowed themselves to be pulled into the work load after being warned. More help? Good for them.

Anyway, she would only give the woman a smirk to the comment as she kept walking taking them down the path to a medium sized garden of this seasons fruits and veggies. As she opened the gate to this somewhat isolated part of her establishment, she would walk the path ways there as her eyes scanned the area for just the right ingredients to restock the kitchen with. It was getting later in the day, so the kitchen staff was working extra hard to fill the mouths of those that came in. As a result that left her to do some picking in the garden. It was a nice chore. At least she got outside and could trust the rest to hold down the fort inside.

As she moved to crouch down next to a tomato plant near the path, she would reach out to one of the plump vegetables as she listened to the other.

“I was hoping that was the other reason you had come,” she said as she looked at the plant. “Oh? Whatcha got?”

From here she would fall into silence as she continued to work and listen. By the end of it all, Calabus would stand straight once as she held a basket half full of various vegetables and a few fruit lying at the top at her side balancing the weight on her hip. She would look over at Touku with a serious expression.

“So if we can believe what the cat, then he is working for a demon that may be the king of them all? I wonder what that Event back then really did to this world then. Did it really just unleash demons?”

It didn’t sound pleasant and the end results that came up due to imagination? That was even worse. Just what sort of access point had been opened back then? And what was it going to do to the world now? She was quiet for a moment before she looked back at the woman. “Did you gain anything else out of that meeting? Maybe some more clues as to what that all means for us now?”

Belated Meeting (Calabus) T3WT19e

"Maybe it is him. Or maybe it isn't. But it wouldn't be out of the question that he would try this. Yet, there's a lot more to this story than we could ever possibly imagine and that's where the fun lies. And even if the child was lying, even lies serve as a shell to be discerned to become closer to the truth. It's a matter of learning how to crack them open. As for the Great Divide, it would be boring if it were just demons. But I'd assume the government and their beloved Psyche Terrorists may have the answer."

Touko started to take out a cigarette carton and then gestured towards Calabus as if to ask if it was alright to smoke in here. If she gave the okay, she began to light it and puff on it. Either way, the redhead took on a pensive face. This city was full of secrets and the center of it all came from the government. She wondered, however, about how these Psyche-Terrorists were related. There had to be a correlation. The chilling broadcast last night churned her gut to suspect their involvement. But there was no way she could look further into this if she lacked the means to interact or protect herself.

"Unfortunately, that's all I know. But I will hopefully find more. And I'm afraid that ends my side of our agreement. If you have anything else to talk about, then I don't mind staying longer. But if you don't, I'll be on my way," the puppeteer sighed and leaned on her right leg with her hand on her hip.

“It would indeed be a bore if it was only demons running about and perhaps this was part of the game the cat spoke of,” Calabus would say as she nodded at the information given. It seemed that there was still something to be discovered under this so called peace the city had. Touku seemed to believe the answers to the secrets rested in the very forces that threaten to rip the city apart should they go out of control.

“The Psche Terrorist and the government, huh?” she would say as a small smirk worked its way across her lips. Now that was an interesting rabbit to chase. She wondered if she followed that rabbit what world would it lead her too? Would it be fun or deadly? How about both? Heh. Guess she would just have to follow and find out. Delightful.

“It looks like there is some fun left yet in this city,” she would continue with a light chuckle of amusement before her eyes shifted back at the woman. Her smirk would grow into a familiar Cheshire like grin. “I like you Ms. Touko. You keep your promises and have brought me some tasty treats to boot. Now as much as I would love you to stay for tea and food, I won’t hold here if you wish to leave. These doors are open to you any time so don’t be afraid to stop by. However, before you go, I want to make you an offer for being so kind to us. Would you consider being a information trade partner? You know the sort that bounce information off of each other and even aid each other when need be? A…beneficial relationship in the long run?” she would ask as she watched the other carefully that smile never leaving her face.

A partnership. That was an interesting proposal. The redhead allowed a delicate finger to brush against her chin as her thumb held on it. She thought about it. It didn't hurt to work together with her, especially when Touko would need a larger information network. So she nodded and held out a hand to shake.

"Sure, it works for me. It'll be nice working with you, Calabus. I'll keep in touch. Let me know if you find out about anything. I will see you later."

After that little handshake, Touko did a small bow from her hip and then started to leave the establishment.
