David Hurata"Dystopia may be the closest we ever get to utopia. Just saying. -David
Birth Name: David Azi Hurata
Aliases: ElsewhereGuy (online username)
Birth Day: March 18
Place of Residence: Sunlake Palms
Evoker: Mental Shackles
Academy Semester: Second
Class: (We'll fill this in once you're approved. This will be your class in school)
Part/Full Time Job: Clerk/Stocker at Sun Blossom Book Store
Appearance: Minoru stands at 5'8", has silvery gray hair, a fairly pale complexion, and dark brown eyes. Weighing about 140 lbs, Minoru chooses to wear button-up collared shirts and jeans in his everyday routine with white sneakers. He often carries a black messenger bag with him, containing his laptop.
Personality: To the average stranger, David is often described as a deep thinker, often keeping to himself and acting timid around others. He appears to be optimistic, often encouraging others to chase their desires or offer advice on a situation. However, in his smaller group of close friends, his true colors show. A philosopher at heart, David was fascinated by the idea of utopia and wondered how we could truly create a peaceful world. His research into this subject has caused him to take a more pessimistic attitude, as, in the silence of his heart, he realizes that humanity may be the greatest barrier to creating such a world. Nevertheless, he keeps a smile plastered on his face and his heart set on building a better future.
Strengths: (Anything your character is skilled in, such as Martial Arts/ Drawing/ etc? You are allowed a maximum of five strengths and a minimum of three.)
—Strength Name: Voice of Gold
—Description: There's just that special way David talks that reassures you that he knows best. With some well-placed words, people can find it hard to disagree with him.
Ranking up Expression(Charisma) requires only 75% of the original points.
—Strength Name: Power Swing
—Description: David's hammer certainly packs a punch, shaking up enemies struck by it and opening them up to a more painful attack.
A successful attack on an enemy using Cold Slater reduces the enemy's defense by 10% for one turn.
—Strength Name: Emotional Crutch
—Description: Having an existential crisis? Feeling crushed by others' expectations? David understands your plight and will always offer his help overcoming it... With a few quotes thrown about.
—Strength Name: Debater
—Description: Philosophers are no strangers to debate, and David is no different. He firmly stands for his side and would spend hours upon hours defending it, trying to understand his opponent's motivations and reasoning. Win or lose, David knows that his word is powerful enough to speak for itself.
((A floating Strength is a strength you've gained inRP. For example, if you were on a Kendo team for some time, you'd naturally know Kendo which is where this strength would come in. However, be aware, it will not be as strong as any of your actual strengths and is a small plus)
—Floating Strength Name:
Weaknesses: (You must have the same amount of weaknesses as strengths. These weaknesses pertain to you and not your Persona. IE: Physically Weaker, lack of attention span, etc.)
—Weakness Name: Flimsy Fingers
—Description: Finesse and careful movements are not David's strong suit. Whether it's nerves or unsteady hands, lock picking and pickpocketing are difficult for him to pull off.
Ranking up Understanding requires 125% of the original points.
—Weakness Name: Swing and a Miss
—Description: Cold Slater may be powerful, but swinging it still saps David's strength. If his hammer doesn't make contact with the enemy, it makes it harder to take another power swing at it.
Missing an enemy when using Cold Slater decreases David's attack by 10% for one turn.
—Weakness Name: Pessimist toward Humans
—Description: Although he won't easily admit it, David is a silent judge of character, finding over-competitive and self-centered individuals to be enemies of his desire. He can get snarky and argumentative with these people but finds comfort in likeminded individuals.
—Weakness Name: Pie-In-The-Sky Mind
—Description: People may say that a utopia is simply wishful thinking, but David firmly believes that he could make it happen. Those who call his desire childish or impossible are sure to be on the receiving end of his distrust and anger.
((A floating weakness is one gained in RP. It could be a fear you inherited during RP, or an injury that hinders your character. Some can be temporary while others can be permanent.)
—Floating Weakness Name:
Soul Bound Weapon: (This is the weapon you'll be able to summon to your hand while in combat. This weapon is special for your character specifically and allows you to fight Shadows and Demons without the need of summoning your Persona. This can be anything but a Gun (Or gun related weapon))
Weapon Name: Cold Slater
Weapon Description: A 4ft long hammer meant to be wielded with two hands. The cold metal head weighs about 20 lbs but delivers a major impact to any foe.
Weapon Attack Type: Strike
Weapon Element: (Leave this blank. Only special weapons obtain an element behind its blows.)
Side-Arm Name: Compact Blaster
Side-Arm Description: A small-scale gray firearm similar in style to a six-shot revolver, with a large chamber and short barrel.. Weighing around 5 lbs, the gun has a button behind the trigger to open the barrel for David's Sonic Screech attack.
Side-Arm Attack Type: Gun
- Compact Blaster:
Side-Arm Style: Revolver
Revolver - Single Shot - Accuracy is increased by 20%. Consumes only one type of ammo per use. Can shoot only one enemy at a time.
History: Originally born in East Eden to Lucy and Gavin Hurata, David spent the first five years of life tending to the farmland with his older sister Sunnie. When the news of his grandmother's passing and the inheritance passing down to the family, David and Sunnie attended Seven Stars Academy as they moved to Sunlake Palms.
While Sunnie blossomed in school, rising through the hierarchy of popularity for her outspoken support for the people and distrust of demons, David simply went through the motions and sat in the back of class. While his disinterest in the government's "teachings" was obvious, he still got remarkable grades in school. Instead, he showed interest in the classics who first brought the idea of a perfect society to the people. He kept a position at the local bookstore to help people find their inspirations outside of school.
As he read about utopia, he also discovered the other side of the coin, the dystopia. As the years went by, his mind began picking up the qualities of the government that eerily fit the world of dystopian society read about in fiction. Did his belief in perfect society blind him from what he had, or was he beginning to see past the dome of propaganda that the government used to trap his family as well as millions of others?
