Things just didn't seem to stop progressing wildly.

As Joshua had been making his way to where Zack's hideout should be, something happened. From the corner of his eye, he noticed what was happening towards San Malarus. A dome had appeared over the island, seemingly causing the demons to flee the area. For sure, something was happening and it was causing him to bite his lip in uncertainty. What the hell was going on? These developments only served to confuse him and irritate him even more.

"Please at least tell me this time you got an idea what's going on the-- Actually, you're still as confused as I am, huh?" he looked back at the ex-angel for some answers about the dome-covered island.

But he already half-expected him to know nothing. If he knew nothing about these otherworldly invaders, then how would he know a single thing about what's happening at Standasen? And speaking of that island, someone was going to make moves. The noise of the speakers and radios already tipped off Joshua who it was.

"Great. So this was what Zack planned," Joshua groused at the announcement.

But there were still questions to be asked and so much to know. And Zack was the only one around who can give him the answers he needs.

Soon, he would finally arrive only to see the frenzy growing near the Lumiere District. This was worrying. Though at least he could see Zackary was inside what seemed to be the tallest building around. But, he needed to get in there, somehow. For now, he would just have to look around and see what he can do to get in. Maybe see if there was an opening. And hopefully, with the sea of people around, it would easily conceal his presence and appearance. And perhaps maybe listen to what else Zack has to say.

"Looks like I found him, Boss."

Phalanx looked at the scene ahead of him with a light smirk. How he had ended up here was... interesting. Sure, his goal was still the same, finding his old container with all that precious information and whatnot... but something got him sidetracked. On his way through the streets of Standasen, a face he surely recognized from the very picture he had shown Sada mere hours prior... Joshua Bae crossed his path earlier... Perhaps lady luck was smiling upon him today. He seemed to be accompanied by a bespectacled fellow he didn't recognize however. So, using the crowds around him to his advantage, he decided to stalk the duo for a while, staying a comfortable distance away from them. He'd need some place with Joshua alone, if at all possible.

When they finally reached the Rally, Phalanx called Dorsey, and this brings us up to the present. "Yeah... Will do." He replied, making sure not to lose sight of Joshua. "Oh yeah. Saw it when I came out the tunnel... Something's up. It's empty? None of them in sight? Intriguing..." The chat continued on as Zachary kept up his speech. He'd remain a somewhat sizable distance away from Joshua and Simon, hidden in the thick of the crowd. Ending the call right there, he tucked the small, black phone into his pocket, and blended in.

"Zachary! Zachary! Zachary!"

As the crowd grew more and more dense, it only got even more heavy and foreboding to wonder what Zack had in mind. It was like a volcano just coming out of its dormant stage. A person came towards the crowd from out of an alleyway. They were away from the huge crowd so they weren't too hard to spot, but they were more than focused on the man atop the building that they all seemed to be cheering for. He was curious what would develop from this, and as such he remained silent for the time being.

This crowd was going to keep getting bigger and bigger. And even harder and harder to get through. The frenzy might be getting dangerous the more this continues. But perhaps it'll be easier to sneak in as this mass keeps growing and growing. Though they had to be quick about it.

"Alright, keep close to me," he called over Simon who should be following him from behind with all this ruckus around them.

He had to make sure his friend was sticking near him. It would be very easy to get lost and separated because of this chaotic hubbub. As tempted as he was to literally slash his way through with his Persona, that likely wasn't going to be the wisest idea he ever had. Though Joshua had noticed someone was staying out of this crowd. A panda bear-hooded little person that seemed to stand out to him. Maybe because of his attire. Or maybe because he was out of this chaos.

They should stay out. Diving deep into this chaotic body of people was probably going to end up getting themselves hurt at that height. But, that person was of little interest for Joshua. Getting to Zack mattered more. So, he kept trying to get towards the building. Hopefully getting there soon in one piece and without separating from Simon.

Looks like they were on the move. Phalanx would slowly follow the two, making his way through the crowd, keeping an eye on them, as to make sure not to lose sight of his target, so his attention was undivided. He didn't notice the newly arrived figure in the back, something he might end up regretting, but perhaps not... Now. He needed a distraction, or something... A Way for him to get to Joshua, and splitting him away from his bespectacled friend, which was no easy task, seeing Joshua's efforts to keep the man close. Pushing his way through the masses as his target kept going towards the building, making sure to not be seen. None of the two had made any signals thus far that they knew he was there, which was a good thing. Now, the tricky part remained... separating them from eachother. Perhaps he'd get a good opportunity in due time... maybe even inside the building, if that's where the teen was going...

Oki went from a calm world to a complete hell in a matter of seconds. When it stepped back into the dying light of the island it had originally been on, the being would find itself, staring out at a landscape that was quite foreign and not in a good way. Strange creatures flew in a sky of a strange purplish hue and the beaches?

A gloved hand would ball tightly in a fist as the being took in the scene before it. Water pulled back and upward by unnatural forces. In the midst of that abnormal sight, the water swirled to create a vortex that had an eye that peeked into a very different reality. Was this what the old man had been referring to? Those other worlds that were not the ones Oki was familiar with? If that was so…then what was over there? Green eyes would narrow as Oki debated on checking what was over there, but then shaking its head it would look away from the anomaly. For now that issue would be placed on hold. What it was interested at the moment was what was happening on the home front. So with a focused mind the being would push its curiosity down for now and begin to walk inland instead. It would stop at a shop to pick up a small radio and some headphones. Once it obtained the items, it would head back out and make its way to the station. It supposed since it had a long walk to go back home, it would listen to news. Surely someone was reporting on this right? However, as it clicked on the radio the stations were dead leaving it to listen to static instead. Not really bothered by that, the being would listen to the static as it traveled; however, not too far down the tunnel the being would pause as the static unexpectedly died down and a new announcement would be made.

As the being heard what was being said, green eyes would close as a sigh escaped its lips in the darkness. Well this just made things even more complicated, didn't it. For example, now it had to wonder about why only its home island got the safety treatment and the others simply got left out. Who was that protector anyway? On top of this, it had another problem. That guy in Standasen Island...what was his name? Zackary? Yeah, that one calling for folk to come together and fight back. An interesting proposition, but would the people actually rally underneath this guy and fight back? Or would it turn out like the last rally it heard about?

“Tch,” the sound would come out softly as Oki's direction shifted as it took a turn in the tunnel rather than keeping straight. As much as it wanted to go back home and investigate the woman and why it was she could do what she did, it was curious about the rally also and what it meant. Who knows maybe it could find something of interest there.

**

Sometime later, Oki would find itself on the island of Standasen, its body a bit tired from all the running about without rest. Even so, the creature pushed onward sticking to the shadows to keep away from the odd creatures that roamed about on this island still. Most of the places were boarded up or locked down; however, there were a few people that seemed to be taking their chances as they all headed in one direction – towards the rally. Following the crowds, Oki would eventually veer off into an ally, so that instead of coming out into the masses it would come out in a position off to the side and kind away from the crowds. As it stepped out it into the open, it would end up next to a strangely dressed person who had asked a question just as it had gotten near enough to hear.

“I was hoping you could tell us that,” Oki said as it looked over at the large crowd that seemed to be getting bigger and bigger by the second. This could be bad if it got out of control. The being would frown under the collar of its jacket before green eyes would drift upward towards the building where the man that had started this whole deal resided. It sure hoped he knew what he was doing...

When Shunnosuke arrived at Standasen, he could feel an eerie feeling of fear growing up inside. That is, beyond his feet aching which, much to Lewis's dismay, would happen quite often during the whole course through the subway tunnels, or nearly. Consequences of not being a regular active person. In any way, despite being an otherwise intolerable situation (both for Shun being forced to an unwanted physical activity and for Lewis for hearing complaints about said unwanted physical activity), the duo managed to reach Standasen in a rather reasonable time. The first time he ever stepped on this district was two years ago, in a desperate move to meet Zackary in his headquarters. Now, he was once again brought there for another dangerous reason with the exception that this time he was not alone. On the other hand, he wasn't facing a horde of goons this time, but a horde of demons...

The atmosphere in Standasen seemed not too different from his initial experience, or he was too prideful to admit Lumière stands out from the rest of the island. Regardless, save for the former ghost town aspect, it's still a district he avoided stepping into.

Finally... — If there was one thing to put an end into the Kurosawa's complains, it was the shocking sight of a mob across the streets. Was Standasen, such a poor and low-level neighborhood, really that populated? Shunnosuke silently stared into distance, avoiding getting involved with the surprisingly large commotion in the streets. He simply didn't want to drag unnecessary attention to himself, and besides, people seemed to be gathering like ants, given how the mass is growing bigger as time goes by. — Just stay alert and don't go too far from me... — He took a deep breath, glanced through the corner of his eyes to Lewis before trying to spot a safer place for them to keep watch. He was visibly uneasy and, to anyone who knew him enough, the reasons are obvious enough. Or rather, the main reason being shouted by everyone's mouth. Zackary. What was his goal with this rally? Which events are in his intentions to unfold...? He could only wonder...

Chaos is a most interesting force.

It's a near unstoppable catalyst for change. What some see as an irredeemable evil, and others see as an end in itself, the wise recognize as both the opportunity and danger that it is. Man warns himself and others not to play with fire, but were he to have taken his advice countless years ago then he would be nothing more than yet another primitive beast hiding away in caves. The answer to the dilemma of fire's danger is not to live in fear of it, but to exercise caution in its utilization. Chaos is no different. To cower before it and cling to the nearest semblance of order is an action that could easily prove just as foolish as carelessly throwing your hands into the searing flames. Azami Aihara knew at least one half of this truth, but did she know the other? And what of the man that the masses of Standasen chose to rally behind: Zachary? What did he know of this dilemma of fire -- this dilemma of chaos?

The Wild Card and her purple-haired companion had reached their intended destination at long last. Upon their arrival, however, they found themselves greeted by a sight Azami hadn't been expected to see. A sea of people had flooded the island and the Lumière District in particular, all of them standing together and chanting a singular name.

"Zachary! Zachary! Zachary!"

The voices only grew louder with each passing second and the same seemed to go for the crowd. But the name they were chanting was unfamiliar to the woman. Though it was (in)famous around Azores, she had only been around for a bit during her visit years ago and had only just recently returned. So, Azami would merely turn her head to face to Yume and offer her a shrug.

"These people sure do love this Zachary. You think he might know something about those monsters flocking here?" It was mere speculation, and baseless at that, but there was no harm in bringing it up. People had to be rallying behind him for one reason or another. Perhaps he had some sort of knowledge or power that they trusted would keep them safe from the horde of demons amassing in the area. Regardless of how he had gotten the populace to place their faith in him however, it was certainly an impressive feat.

The being would stay by the strange boy surprisingly calm by the presence of the other. The reasoning behind this calmness was hard to explain out loud, but for the moment at least Oki felt no threat from this young man. As the crowds continue to the grow and its eyes caught at least one familiar face within those masses, the being would narrow its eyes as the chaos seemed to only increase in the area. The fever pitch of the crowd’s energy was intoxicating; however, Oki would take a step back before turning its back on that mass of chaotic energy.

“Nevermind,” it would tell the boy it was standing by as it gave him an apologetic bow for bothering him. Once that was done, the being would begin to walk back into the alley and away from the rally. As curious as it was about this situation, it wanted to get back home to investigate something else on its mind. Besides, it was quite sure that even if things did blow up here, there were people here that could handle the situation. So with that hope in mind, it would leave the rally behind and head back towards the subway tunnels and home.

~Oki has exited the thread~

-Prologue-

The TV was on. In the screen, first minister Isla Lamecia nonchalantly gave a speech, but there was no one to listen.

Outside, Taiki stood, a shopping bag hitting the floor as it slipped from his limp fingers, mouth ajar before the chaos unleashed over the city.

Demons. Demons of all forms, colors and shapes, each more horrifying than the last, cluttered the skies, the shadows of their hellish, clipped wings cast over the ground below, blocking the unnatural violet sunlight. They spread far and wide, soon enough flying over his own head.

The first thing Taiki felt was dread. A chilling fear that ran through his spine. It was like looking at a tidal wave drawing close, a sense of awe and helplessness washed over him. All around the boy people screamed and ran, trying to escape, to find some place outside the reach of the impending doom upon them, while others just stood there like he did.

Until the attacks begun, that is.

They were coming from everywhere, giants casually trampling over people like they were ants, rabid beasts that slaughtered like a wolves among the herd and dark, furtive shadows that devoured the unwary, not a trace left of their victims left in their wake. The young man's legs guided him through the mayhem, running through the well-known streets of his youth for his life as he desperately tried to reach safety.

Without knowing very well how he actually managed to get there, Taiki found himself standing on in front of his house. Barging in, he slammed the door shut behind him. It was all quiet now except for the not-so-distant clamor of the extermination, a grim reminder of just how painfully real the situation was.

Taiki couldn't believe it. This was actually happening. People were dying out there... And it wouldn't be long until they came in for him too. He shivered from a grim realization, that no one was going to be spared. Everyone on Azores was going to die.

His heart then skipped a beat, where was mom?!, He bolted around the house, searching for any sign of life. Unsuccessfully.

It was then when it hit him, she had gone to see a client to the Azores Prison in preparation for a nearby trial.

He had to sit on the floor. Standansen. Even from the distance the boy had seen what had been of the island. thousands of horrors, whole armies of them were gathering there. There were no words for the sort of devastation those monsters would unleash over the island.

"No... This cannot be...", Taiki said to himself as he grasped his head between his hands. Flashes of the fateful day he had lost his father went through his mind how he had given his all and still had been unable to save him. And now, he would have to watch his mother die too.

"NO, NO, NO!!", he springed up overtaken by anger, launching a vase against the wall, which soon was joined by many other breakable objects.

This went on for a while until Taiki was left standing in the middle of a thoroughly thrashed room, heavily panting as he made an effort to contain bitter tears.

"... I... I'm not going to allow it.", he said aloud, half sobbing. Feeling a surge of determination he went to his room, picking a bag, soon filled with a few kitchen knives, all the money he could find, rope, some canned food and water, a lantern and a first aid kit.

Finally he went to his father's studio. Ever since he had disappeared the room had been kept as it was. His mother had wanted to repurpose it, but Taiki had vehemently refused. It made it feel like he was still around. Somehow, Taiki knew that without his studio, this would no longer be the house he knew, his father's house.

Sure enough, there it was. On a small exhibit among all sorts of trinkets a gun rested. It was a beautiful object, engraved with a few decorations that attempted to disguise its macabre purpose with lavishness. It was a relic from the American Civil War, a modified revolver model capable of holding nine rounds in its chamber. With reverence, the young man picked it up. He didn't know if it even worked, it must have been years since the thing was last shot, but even if didn't it could still be useful. Luckily he knew where his father ketp the bullets, as much of a vintage items as the gun itself.

If he had to die, it wouldn't be here, holed up waiting for the gruesome end. Ever since the storm he had known he was living in borrowed time, and if Death was to claim his soul tonight, he would at least have the hero's end he had been spared from once.

But this time, he'd make it count.

Simon knew about as much as Zackary. He wanted all of this to be long over after the first time. He shook his head unknowing of anything. Lewis looked to Shun and nodded. He didn't really have much else of a choice. It had been a while since he was out of that bloody prison, so getting some fresh air was enough for him, even if he was being led around by a kid almost half his age. YumiAmi☆♡ had her eyes set on Zackary in amusement. "There's a chance. I don't think they would just show up here for no reason. He's so suspicious up there, while the Demons just float around☆♡," she said watching as the Demons remained up in the air. Despite what happened earlier this day, they showed some impressive restraint not swooping down and attacking the people. Did they have a reason not to? She looked around and soon she placed a hand over her chest as she felt a pulse. Someone was nearby, and it wasn't just anyone. Someone she knew very well. She looked around where the feeling was strongest and saw a young-looking boy watching the rallied people themselves. "Adiyna. He's here too huh?☆♡" She said, walking towards him.

Adiyna felt the same feeling and turned to the source, who was walking in his general direction. He gave a small nervous smile, and before he could run away, YumiAmi☆♡ began to run, and quickly grabbed him by the scruff of his neck, and all of a sudden, a blade appeared in her other hand and was put near his neck. Her face changed; once of a bubbly likeable nature, to now a face of loathing and hatred as she gazed at Adiyna, who simple held his hands up as though he didn't know what was going on. "Hey hey hey! I didn't want to run into you either, let's just split up alright? We can work on who it is fro-" The blade got closer to his neck, and he shut up. "Hm...you were the first to leave with that other group. Where have you been and where are they?☆♡" She watched him. He opened his mouth, but the cheering began to die down as Zackary held his hand to the crowd.

The crowd was too focused on Zackary to notice the sudden threatening woman behind the nearby backs of others, but Zackary scanned the streets. He smirked. "These islands have been waiting too long for a change that kept the rich from trampling on the poor, and the ones at the top from keeping everyone that didn't deserve what they got in these islands. Soon, the Demons will give us our chance. They can give us the power we want. But one last obstacle is in our way. The Minister Isla, and any henchmen she has over at San Malarus. Some will come here to fight us, but we have to stand firm! That dome will be crushed and we will storm the gates and destroy her, the people that still cling to this order, and we will take the rest of the islands we have deserved since the genesis of these rotten lands!" Cheers echoed, while Adiyna and YumiAmi☆♡ were focused on each other, but were silent through his speech. "And I am not alone. I personally will be tearing the power that is sleeping in those waters below us for myself, and we will use it to take this world, and soon others! My help will be all of you, and a select number of those I have handpicked." Nearby the top of the building, a person walked forward towards the edge, and looked out as the crowd cheered for them too. They did not say a single word, but Zackary seemed thrilled in a demented sort of way.

Yeah. Getting into this rally like this was not smart at all. He knew it, but he figured it might be worth it. But having seen the kind of faces that Zachary was making now, it made it certain for Joshua. He just wasn't in the state of having a lucid and calm conversation like before. It wasn't even going to be worth the trouble at all. There was another person on top, but he didn't really seem to be of anything of interest... for now. The Nyarlathotep Child would worry about it later.

"Let's go. Now's not the time."

Joshua then signaled Simon to start heading out of the crowd. They would carefully try to leave the raucous body as they continued to meld in. Of course, they tried to move out of the way of Zack's eyesight. Interestingly enough, just as Joshua was moving the opposite direction he was moving before, he did notice two individuals at the back were seemingly making a ruckus that was largely ignored by the crowd.

He had little doubt that Zack would see them. So Joshua tried to move a bit farther away from them for now to avoid the demagogue's attention. He'd get closer to them a bit later.

That was certainly an interesting speech... Phalanx didn't give his full attention to it, but at least he got the jist of it. And it would seem his target was leaving... Well, this could be a good or a bad thing. No crowd to hide in anymore, but at the same time, it would be easier to approach Joshua, had it not been for his partner... He'd have to get them separated somehow... On his way out of the crowd, he noticed the newly arrived people... None he immediately recognized. Perhaps he would've recognized Oki, but the figure had left the scene before Phalanx had taken note of him. The others were certainly eye-catching, but Phalanx only kept his focus on them momentarily before returning on his main objective, for now anyway. He'd remember their faces for now, especially considering how much they actually stood out, he wouldn't forget their faces anytime soon...

Somehow, this whole "Robin Hood"-ésque speech bothered Shun greatly. Not simply because it came from Zackary who, he already knew, was a scheming and dangerous man at the same time he was an alluring authority figure, or because of what happened years before. The whole class conflict was a nerve that's stricken, like it was strictly made at him. Shunnosuke worried that Zackary, being a gang leader in an outskirt island, could go for his family as vengeance. He knew, or rather, he expected Zackary to not forget the little betrayal that happened years before. Still, there were some things off about his behavior. He had always been power-seeking but he seemed over the top...like obsessed, insanely obsessed with seizing an opportunity of climbing a social ladder. How far was he willing to go just to be on top? More than that... How scary it is to see a reflection of himself in such a wicked, twisted personality?

...

In any way, he decided to not move away. Whatever might happen tonight, he had to be there to perhaps attempt to prevent the worst. Or even try to soothe the heavy atmosphere into escalating to a potentially dangerous environment for the whole Azores. Come what may, he was ready to leave quickly in case it developed into a riot, though he expected it to not reach that point.

"Huh? Hey, where are you going?"

Yume walking off hadn't been something Azami was expecting and where exactly she was heading was a mystery. With a look of confusion briefly splashing across her face, the woman would let out a sigh and follow her from behind as she approached the alleyway. What was she heading over there for? The answer, of course, would reveal itself as she chased down Adyina and summoned a sword into her hand. Clearly they weren't on good terms... either that or YumiAmi☆♡ had an odd idea of how to greet a friend.

Azami wasn't exactly sure what to do. She didn't know the girl too well and the boy being targeted was a complete stranger. They obviously knew each other though, that much was certain. Perhaps it'd simply be best to let them sort things out themselves. She wasn't sure what exactly Adiyna had done, but it had to have been something pretty big to piss off someone like Yume. It was at that moment, however, that Zachary decided to speak once more. The roaring crowd fell silent as the center of their attention began to act once again. Following his speech, a thoughtful smirk would appear briefly before disappearing seconds later behind her mask. What did his words mean for Azores? Was there any meaning to them or was it just rhetoric thrown around to rile up the crowd?

"You were willing to wait for me, so I suppose it's only fair I extend the same courtesy to you. Do what you will with him Yume -- I'm staying out of this. But make it quick, alright? We've got bigger fish to fry than some kid in a panda hoodie." Azami's hands would rest within the pockets of her red jacket as she stared at the two Zodiacs.
