The Endymion Plot, our Third Main Plot, is underway! We also have our sideplot taking place called Junction! If you're a new member looking to join the new plot, you will want to choose Endymion. However, if you're interested in our sideplot, you may also join that one aswell. The choice is ultimately up to you! The Dungeon Master of the Junction plot is CWIS and the DM of the current Endymion plot is Godai and Grantus.

All templates on the site have been updated, and this also includes the rules aswell. When referring to the rules, please disregard any that say "Old" or "Obsolete" as we are no longer using those rules for the Endymion Plot. Oh, don't be mistaken! I love breaking the rules! But in this case, follow them or erasure!

PostSubject: Floor 2: Serene Room   Sat Oct 18, 2014 9:44 pm

When those who decided to enter the tower made their way to the second floor, they would be greeted by what appeared to be just a bedroom. It was rather small for more than one person to live in, basically giving it a sign that only one person actually lived there. A bed was pushed against the wall, parallel to the opposite wall that held shelves and books. In the center of the small bedroom was a glass table over a carpet that blocked the main walking path. There was a door against the wall that led into what appeared to be a living room. There was a TV against the north wall, a couch facing the TV on the south wall, a chute that seemed to be for garbage on the east wall, and the left wall was where the exit currently was. In this room there was no carpet, and instead just a wooden floor. These two rooms seem to be the most important, and the rest of this "home" was not available to them. Suddenly... a transmission could be heard..

"Onii-chans and Onee-chans, welcome to Four's mystery machine, I stated with a posed expression." A voice spoke directly into their minds, and telling from the tone it seemed to be from a young girl. Possibly in her early teens. "I would like to 'play' a game with you all. Please, do play with me. In the rooms you're currently in, something has happened. A man used to live there by himself, now he is suddenly gone without a trace. Your mission is to find what happened to him. You should analyze points of the rooms to see what you can find. At the end, you are to give me a detail analysis on what could have happened to him. I eagerly await your report, I stated with an eager expression." The transmission would suddenly end.

Daiki would look around the room they had entered and immediately feel claustrophobic. Since he was from a large family, he had spent his entire life in a house that could fit them all. On the other hand, this place was extremely small. He didn’t even think the four of them could fit in here. Whoever lived here was probably an only child. His eyes would drift to the glass table, “Well, whoever lives here doesn’t have bad taste in decorating.” He wouldn’t say it was the best, but given the room’s size, it was decent. He would keep looking at the room’s decorating until he started hearing a voice that didn’t belong to anyone in the group. He would almost laugh at the way it spoke. It reminded him of a child, but the way they spoke also made it sound like they were trying to act mature. He had to admit, it was pretty adorable. It almost made him want to pat her head and tell her stories about princesses. Almost. For now though, he had a room to worry about.

Without waiting for a word from the others, he would go up to the table and start examining it. Glass was a lovely thing to look at, but very hard to take care of. It had a bad habit of showing off all of its imperfections. He would get on his knees to check the legs and the immediate carpet around it, running his hands over it to see if maybe something small hand fallen off. Goodness knows he had lost a few needles that way in his days. He would even lie on his back to see if there was anything under the table, “I might take awhile, so you guys should feel free to look around too. I’ll probably look at the bed after this.” He looked back at the group before realizing that he had just taken some sort of leader role. He wasn’t used to that. In fact, he expected Tomoe or Kahn to be the first to move, “Well, I mean, you guys should probably look around. We need to get moving as quickly as possible and splitting up makes this go a lot faster. If at least one of you wants to start in the next room, that would be a big help.” He would say before going back to the table. As soon as he was done here, he would repeat the same thing with the bed. Only there he would also need to look over all of the sheets and the wall. Plus the mattress itself needed to be lifted up to see if there was anything under it. He rubbed his head as he realized that this was going to take a long time if they were being thorough. That, and he wasn't exactly a detective. He would have to hope they could notice anything he overlooked.

When the intercom gave its task, Tomoe took a moment to survey the room once more, though it seemed Daiki wanted to run headlong into it. He obviously was either a fan of the decor or a fan of puzzles and mysteries. She almost laughed, but her smile was unavoidable. "In that case, as Daiki mentioned, two each should explore each room. Kahn and Destiny, take the next room if you will. Split between the sides of the room to cover more ground. Cause looking is easy enough, but we have to figure out what transpired after we observe. We'll meet up after we get sufficient time to look, though we don't have alot of it. So, good luck then," She said, looking oddly. She wasn't exactly accustomed to leading herself, but she had to. There really was no other way. She wasn't exactly sure why she chose to join Daiki. Maybe cause of a sort of older affection Daiki gave off, but totally not because of that right? Obviously Kahn and Destiny probably work well together so they should be a pair right? Right? In any case, she'd look at the glass table with him before taking the opposite of Daiki's position, examining the books and shelves, pulling out each one to look at front and back for any particular details. Having good eyes, she'd notice if anything came up or was out of the ordinary as she took them down.

Daiki's P.O.V. - He was a smart man to start at the table. When he had examined the legs, and the carpet around the legs, he'd see some indention. It appeared the table was not in the same place it usually sat, as there was a bit of carpet that seemed to be pressed down as if the table had sat on it for a long period of time. Somehow it had shifted. When he went to check the bed, he'd notice the carpet was being pushed against the legs of the bed, instead of going under the legs. This could have been a sign of the person who lived there's untidiness.

Tomoe P.O.V. - Tomoe would also be able to see the details of the table. When she looked through each book and shelf, she'd find nothing out of the ordinary.

A...bedroom? Tilting her head slightly in confusion, Destiny glanced around the room, noting as much as she could. It certainly was smaller than the last floor. Not necessarily easier, of course, but having less area to cover was a blessing. // ?! // What? Who was this in her head? A slight frown overcame her features. The last time something like this had happened, it was that blond boy--Marah--who'd done it. But this person was obviously female and a tad too young to be him. So...who was it?

Stowing the question away for now, she reached into her pocket and pulled out her phone. If they were supposed to solve a mystery, a list of the facts couldn't hurt. Entering her NOTES function, she quickly typed in their objective before shutting the device and placing it back in its rightful place. Maybe this wouldn't be useful for the others, but at least it would help keep things straight in her mind.

The blonde nodded lightly at Tomoe's suggestion. It seemed as if their leader and Daiki had this room taken care of; in that case, investigating the next room would be more helpful. Walking into the next room--living room?--she paused for a moment just inside the doorway, considering her options. There really wasn't much to this room. Just a few pieces of furniture and the chute in the wall. Well, she assumed it was a chute; no dumbwaiter she'd seen had doors like that. Hmm...perhaps the couch was the best place to start.

Destiny walked over to the piece of furniture before taking the couch cushions off one by one, feeling each to make sure nothing had wound up inside, then stacked them up next to the couch.  Was there anything left now that the cushions were gone? Her eyes scanned the base of the sofa to check. ...Hm...things also had a habit of falling into that little space between the cushions and armrest. It couldn’t hurt to look there as well, right? Dropping to her knees,  the girl dipped her hand into each crevice and ran her fingers along their length, checking for any loose items or even odd tears, all the while being cautious of any metal (and possibly sharp) pieces. Anything could be important, in her opinion, considering they had so little go on. Being extra thorough was key, then. // In that case… // Once that search was over, she pulled out her phone and pressed a button, causing the screen to light up. She’d then lower herself to the floor and peer underneath the couch, using her cell as a makeshift flashlight so as to see as much as much as possible. Not that she wanted to see the dust bunnies congregating down there, of course, but if seeing them meant finding some type of clue, so be it.

Daiki would hum as he thought about what he found on his end. So, the table had been moved before they got there. Normally, his mother would try to line things up so those kinds of things didn’t show. Whoever lived here either didn’t care, or there was something wrong. When he saw the way the carpet sat against the legs of the bed, he knew what he had to do, “Tomoe, mind helping me move the table to the side? I want to lift the carpet.” He could probably to it himself, but that would involve him having to drag the thing. If he made one wrong move, it could break and they would have a lot of glass to deal with. If Tomoe helped, he and she would just move the table off to the side. If she didn’t, he would still the table to the side, but he would have to drag it instead of lifting. Once the table was off the carpet, he would raise the edges so he could see underneath. This carpet was moved for a reason, he just had to figure out why.

As Tomoe finished looking through, she did take note of the carpet, but wanted to gather more information about the bookshelves before doing something else. But Daiki was right, they should at least continue with searching what they saw already. She was not used to leading, and was perfectly fine with taking input from others. She came to the other side of the table and helped him move the glass table away from the carpet, and Tomoe herself would lift up the other end to flip the carpet halfway to see if anything was beneath it. During this, she would call out to Kahn before he made his way into the other room with Destiny. "Check and see if there is a discoloration or maybe edges in the other room. This carpet may have been used to cover the floor in the other room the way it was put, or maybe it was just hastily put here."

Kahn was surprised when he found himself in a bedroom, well it certainly wasn't what he was expecting. The red haired young man was even more surprised to hear a young voice challenging them to discover what happened to the man that lived here, so it was a mystery? Were they in an episode of Sherlock or something? Whatever, if it meant they would progress then they had to deal with it. Daiki suggested they spilt up to investigate, and Tomoe paired Kahn with Destiny. That made sense to him, all they had to do now was figure out the clues. As he began to move into the other room, Tomoe called out to him. Check to see if there was anything wrong with the floor in the other room such as edges and discoloration, "I'm on it." he said as he entered the other room.

While Destiny was dealing with the couch, Kahn knelt down on the floor and began examining every single inch of it carefully. He was looking for discoloration or edges on the floor, but also floorboards that might look as though they had been lifted up at all. To be even more sure about anything he would knock on the floorboards testing to see if there was anything solid underneath them as well. If there was nothing underneath them then he expected an entirely different noise to be made than the ones that had something underneath them. Surely there had to be something, wasn't there always something under the floor in the movies, and this felt as though it was ripped right out from a movie. All they needed was a creepy little doll to ride out and ask if they wanted to play a game.

Destiny P.O.V. - When Destiny began to remove the cushions from the couch, she'd find the under layer was shredded, as if something had cut into it. Underneath the couch and around it, everything else was in the ordinary.

Daiki and Tomoe P.O.V. - When they lifted the carpet, the two would be able to see some gashes in the wood. They were deep, almost as if something had been picking into it. However, there were multiple signifying that there wasn't just one, but many gashes in the wood. Whatever that meant was up to their speculation.

Kahn P.O.V. - As he checked the floor, through close examination he'd be able to tell there was a difference between the outer edges of the room and the center. However, when it came to something being under the floor boards, there was no such luck.

Kahn noted the difference in sound, but given the location it was most likely due to the architecture of the room and how it was built rather than anything relevant to the case. "Nothing on the floor indicating anything had been moved, and no loose floor boards. So I think this floor is fairly clean of clues. If anything the areas around the exterior of the room sound different from the center, but that is most likely due to how this place built" The weight lifter got up, and decided that the next best place to inspect would the be garbage chute. Dumpster diving for clues, well he certainly hoped that there was something in here for his trouble.

The red haired man opened up the garbage chute, and if it was too dark to see anything he would pull out his phone to help see if there was anything in the chute. He was keeping his mind open to anything that could give them a clue about the man who lived here and what could have happened to him. He didn't want to be 0 for 2 in regards to his investigation since it was likely that the others had come up with something in their investigation.

Kahn P.O.V. - When Kahn opened the garbage shute, he'd be greeted by several bags stuffed within it, and jamming it so the trash could not fall into the lower levels.

The blonde's eyebrows knit together in confusion as she rose to a kneeling position and studied the tattered portion of the sofa. Claw marks...? No, that girl said that whoever lived here was alone. That probably included pets as well. So had some kind of knife made these tears? And if they did, why did the rest of the couch look fine? Who would take off the cushions, slash up the hidden part, then put everything back? As she puzzled over the matter, Destiny pulled out her phone and typed in a brief description of what she found for future reference. Well, at least the couch hadn't been completely devoid of clues. That was a start. Just to be sure she hadn't missed anything, the girl stood up and pulled the sofa a few inches from the wall. She'd peer behind it and check to see if there was anything there before standing straight and glancing around the room again.

She doubted that there would be things such as hidden compartments in the floors and walls, but--as Kahn demonstrated--it didn't hurt to make sure. As she walked along the edge of the room from the sofa to the TV, she'd run her hands along the walls in search of any stray marks, pinholes, or any other tiny details. One in a while she'd tap her knuckles against the drywall as well, double-checking that there weren't any hollow spaces behind them.

Finally reaching the television, Destiny ran her hands along the edges and in some of the crevices, checking for dust. That might be a clue as to how long this man had been gone. She'd also follow any cords that were connected to the television and check to see first what they were attached to (a DVD player, the wall outlet, etc.) and secondly if they were plugged in properly. Besides that, she couldn't think of much to do besides check for any objects or marks nearby. Electronics had never been her forte after all, and the last thing she wanted to do was try and pull anything apart and possibly wreck some kind of clue. // ...Should I...? // Her hand hovered over the ON button for a second. Was there actually power here? There could be. Stranger things had happened before, she supposed. Even if something came on, she could always turn it back off, she reasoned. Comforted by that thought, she pressed down on the button, watching the screen curiously to see if anything would pop up.

Daiki would look at the deep gashes he and Tomoe found and draw a blank. It looked like someone had stabbed the floor. That was confusing and nonsensical. He would look at Tomoe, “Any clue why someone would want to stab a floor?” Because he was drawing a blank. All he could do was get up and walk out to Destiny and Kahn, “We found some pretty bad gashes in the floor over here. Be on the lookout for anything that could be considered a weapon or just anything out of the usual in general. And be sure to share what you find.” He would say to them before moving back to his own end. He was at a loss. He had no idea what to do next, and nothing seemed out of the ordinary. The only thing he could think of was to double check what they already looked at, “Don’t get offended, Tomoe, but I’m going to check the shelves again to see if we missed something.” He knew she had already covered this front, but he was going to give it one more shot. He would look up with a sigh, trying to think, but coming up with nothing in particular. His brain was fried at this point. He had no idea what was even going on. He would have to keep looking though to make up for his inability to do much else. He knew that Tomoe had gone through the bookshelf and checked everything on it, but she hadn’t moved it at all. That was something he could manage. He would pull out the bookcase to see if anything was there that she may have missed.

Tomoe looked at Daiki in slight confusion and shook her head. “My guess is that they were looking for something. But under a floor? Why hide it? I don’t think this was the work of a stranger, it was probably the missing man,” she said. That in her head was the only possibility at the moment. When Daiki went to tell the others, she paid attention to confirm anything and listen to Kahn and Destiny if they had to offer anything. If they told her about the gashes in the couch as well, including the chutes and trash bags, she’d simply nod. There was not much to go on, and certainly not in this room. When Daiki suggested to move the shelf, Tomoe nodded. It was really all that was left at the moment. Tomoe would help him, though Daiki was doing more work, due to Tomoe’s weak physical stature. It hurt a lot to try and inch it forward. She needed exercise, or maybe thicker muscles. If nothing came up, she would beckon Daiki to come with her to the other room, or let him stay if he wanted.

Destiny P.O.V. - Pulling the couch and checking the boards would bring nothing out of the ordinary. When she checked the Television she'd see there was no dust, signifying it was used probably within the same week. The cords were not tampered with, and the only additional equipment to the TV was a cable box. When she finally pushed the power, she'd find many cracks in the screen of the television that caused the picture display to be a mess. When the screen was off, it was hard to tell, but when it turned on it looked like something blunt had hit or brushed against it hard enough to break it.

Daiki and Tomoe P.O.V. - When the bookshelf was pulled from against the wall, there would be some resistance before it would finally budge. All they'd see were a wall and the wooden floor with visuals.
