Updated: 20/07/2020

**ALERT!** After a rather eventful evening at Maksim's Party, three teenagers seems to have gone missing. The doors of Vault Olympia have been breached due to a to this day unknown assailant, who sabotaged the doors locking systems, allowing demons to make entry. Thanks to the excellent defensive capabilities of the Vault's Security drones, the Attack was put to an end, and the invading monsters fled to the outside. Right now, the Doors of Vault Olympia are currently open, allowing any survivors of the fall to seek shelter within the Vault's safe halls. What Vault Security officials think of this development remains unclear as the Chief of Police and Security of Olympia refused to leave a comment. This is Rianara, of Olympia news, signing out.

The site is entering a new era as our team of mods works tirelessly on updating old and obsolete information threads and links. Over the Summer, we aim to make many changes to the forum, including writing a comprehensive beginners' guide to help new players accommodate to the combat and other rp systems in place here.

Be sure to constantly check the update thread for any changes to the boards. You can find it ->Here<-

"Belief is a wise wager. Granted that faith cannot be proved, what harm will come to you if you gamble on its truth and it proves false? If you gain, you gain all; if you lose, you lose nothing. Wager, then, without hesitation, that He exists."

Tomoe was reading the text of Pascal’s ‘The Wager’ on the steps of the Aiku Shrine about halfway up to the shrine around almost noon today. She was very much fond of books that simply question subjects or give insight into various historical figures. This also happened to be her favorite argument into God’s existence, or rather, why you should believe. No one had been going here lately, maybe due to the red zones that started appearing a couple years back, which still gave her some pause for thought every so often. But this meant she was pretty much alone at the shrine and could do whatever she wished. She felt comfortable knowing that. She continued reading her text, largely engrossed by the words woven onto paper:

“Men never do evil so completely and cheerfully as when they do it from-“

A ring would sound from the right side of her pants that she decided to wear despite this hot day. She just felt better in them for some reason, maybe it protected her somehow. She’d pull from her shorts a phone which was the source of the noise and turned it off. Time for medication today. She set the book down to her right on the step, making sure to mark the page as she reached to her left to grab her small purse and bottle of water. Fumbling through her incredibly organized bag, she’d pull out two small pink pills. Mood relaxers to make sure she woul have less severe outbursts for the rest of the day, or at least until dinner. Popping both pills at once, she would then take a few sips of her water to bring it back down and then gave a small satisfied nod as though it was a task she was proud of accomplishing. She actually felt a bit calm today. No headaches, no outbursts, she even was able to avoid shouting at her foster mother this morning when she was about to respond unfavorably. She’d set the purse and bottle down a step below her and grab the book, and begin to read it again, leading back just enough to where the steps held her up and while a bit uncomfortable, did not bother her too much. She was now ready to be distracted by more of Pascal’s work.

PostSubject: Re: A Little Indulgence (Sheryl)   A Little Indulgence (Sheryl) EmptyMon Aug 04, 2014 5:55 am

Sheryl did not really believe in God. Why would he? It was a human characteristic, which he was not. That, and it wasn't as if he ever got something just by wishing, or 'praying' for it...or whatever the right word for this strange activity was. In some ways, he was having trouble understanding just why did humans do some of the things they did. This, in particular made little sense to him. He had yet to meet a human that could prove to him that God actually existed, and consequently did make some moves. Until that happened, he was going to keep being none the wiser as to why did so many people believe in it. The imminent curiosity was most likely the reason why was he headed to the local Shrine today. While he was not set on what was he ctually trying to seek out by going to take a look, it was better than pondering over it. Asking people was one thing, but with his levels of trust, he often found himself not exactly believeing what was relayed to him. Which made questioning pretty much pointless, on a second thought. Because, being somewhat of a traveller, he rarely met the same person more than a few times, which was not nearly enough for him to trust their actions and words without a question. Tsk, humans were complicated, and he liked taking his slower approach.

Upon wandering toward the steps heading up to the building of the Shrine, he was mildly surprised to see someone there....literally on the steps, with a book in hand nonetheless. Wait, so people came here to do other stuff too? Home was not good enough to read a book at? ''...........'' Nevermind, he wasn't going to understand anyway. And, it wasn't like he had a reason to care for real. With a light shrug to himself, Sheryl would take the liberty of walking up the steps, narrowly avoiding the brown haired female planted on the steps. Briefly realizing that he had plenty of time, and that...he was honestly not THAT badly interested in religious matters, even if he came here to check that out, he would take a stop one step higher than where the female was sitting. He would stay with his back to her for now, only turning his head round to look at her thoughtfully. It probably seemed a little off that he had not said anything yet, but his thoughts were a little bit of a jumbled mess at the moment...and it did not occur to him to say hello yet. And maybe he was a bit distracted as well. However, any action from the seated girl would most likely pull him out of the loop...and it was probably to be expected, as he had come out of nowhere like that. It was normal....to give some sort of reaction, right?

She probably would’ve been distracted, but she could not help but notice from the upper end of her peripheral vision that a man was standing inches from her. She raised her eyes as best she could to catch a glimpse of what he looked like, though his back was turned to her. She’d probably assume that he was just here to check out the shrine, but for him to stop on the steps so suddenly, did he have a reason for doing so? Her reluctance to put the book down was palpable, but she was not annoyed in any stretch of the word. In fact her head seemed a bit…fuzzy; a side effect of the medication maybe? She didn’t feel any strange emotions so far, as the pill can help her recognize them, even if they may not be able to prevent them entirely. She set her book down and moved her things to the side, given that they were across the steps, the man must have had to maneuver a little. Tomoe stood up on her toes to try and even out the sizes from the steps despite the miniscule height difference and placed a hand on his shoulder, ignoring the common courtesy of personal space. She was half tempted to rub his shoulder to provide some comfort, perhaps give it a squeeze to grab his eye, but all she did was twitch her thumb lightly on his shoulder before pulling her hand away before she moved any further. She figured that was all she needed to grab his attention. If it was someone she knew, she probably would’ve tried something else to turn him around.

Once that was done, she set herself down on her feet again and entwine her hands behind her back. If he turned around, Tomoe would give a small smile. “Morning, or afternoon rather. Did you come to see the shrine?” she asked. She was interested in that if nothing else. Plus she always loved to stir up conversation with almost anybody if she got something useful for the mind out of it. Some people just had great ideas locked in their head that Tomoe was all too eager to take a peek into. She held a hand out, palm facing upward. “My name’s Tomoe. Oh, sorry if my stuff got in your way. I didn’t expect someone to show up, seems people haven’t been coming lately. Maybe they don't have a taste for God, or they're worried about what happened some time ago.” Meant to be a joke, if albeit a terrible attempt at humor that not even Tomoe would laugh at. But indeed, with all the events and the bits of wreckage a couple years ago which was now fixed, she wondered how many still went here. Tomoe didn’t seem to mind really. Her parents kept her away from the areas for a while, but it was fine now, so no need to worry correct?

Huh? Sure, Sheryl had expected the female to give some sort of reaction to his presence, but this was not it. He barely managed not to jump when she suddenly decided to get touchy without a warning. Even a possible warning probably wouldn't have changed the fact though. Sheryl was most definitely not used to people simply going for physical contact with a stranger, and he was pretty sure he had good reasons to believe that. As much as humans escaped his horizons at times, he doubted this was an everyday occurrence. Well, she didn't go and hug him, but still, wouldn't one say something first? A little confusing for him, but he would sweep it into the back of his mind for now, as he turned around slowly to ascertain the reason of this strange way of 'a greeting'. Or at least he assumed it was supposed to pose as that. It sounded the most logical at the moment.

''Afternoon, miss.''
, he would greet, when she went for an actual verbal response this time. Well, this made it slightly easier. He would have been perpetually confused if she did not speak up. ''That was my original intention, yes.'' That it was. Though, as time ticked, he was less and less sure about what it was that he really wanted to see. ''It's allright.'', he would say after a moment of consideration, as he took the offered hand cautiously. It did not really take him much to avoid her stuff, so it was fine. ''Truly? I was under the impression people liked believing in Gods.'' It was intriguing to hear otherwise. ''Also, you can call me Sheryl.'' Well, at least he remembered to give a name back soon enough. It had been a while since, but it does take a bit to get used to actually having one. That aside, he had noted Tomoe saying something about things happening times ago, but decided not to ask. He wasn't exactly an expert converastionalist with a complete stranger until he settled a view on them.

A Little Indulgence (Sheryl) Empty
PostSubject: Re: A Little Indulgence (Sheryl)   A Little Indulgence (Sheryl) EmptyMon Aug 04, 2014 3:48 pm

“Miss” was a new one. Just recently by a random stranger she had just met at the time she was called a fair maiden and lovely. Now granted that could’ve been common courtesy, as this was, but it seems to be used when the woman is older than the male from what she can tell. That or “ma’am”, but Tomoe guessed it didn’t really didn’t matter at the moment. She was more interested in how he thought people were. Maybe he was a foreigner, as indicated by his look; most likely Chinese. Tomoe had good eyes, but she could only tell so much about him, the man did not give much away about him physically. But the way he talked seemed to suggest he did not know much about people here. “Well, many still do believe in the Gods, though there are some who either believe in different ones or do not believe at all. I am reading on that idea myself actually.” She reached down to grab her book and hold it up, showing the title and author to him. “It’s basically one man’s argument on why we should believe, how we have almost nothing to lose if we do. Interesting argument.” Boy she didn’t want to stop talking, and simply went into a potentially touchy subject like Gods and belief. She didn’t even seem to realize she could potentially be annoying the person, as she was too interested in what he thought. Maybe he didn’t believe the way he spoke, but she could not exactly tell. What was this man like? “Hey Sheryl. Am I keeping you from reaching the top of the Shrine? Sorry about that. I may go up there myself to find a more comforting spot. There’s probably a pond there that’ll be cool to sit by.” Even as she spoke, she’d be moving to collect her things and put her purse over her shoulder before looking back to Sheryl, interested in any response on the subject he might have.

A Little Indulgence (Sheryl) Empty
PostSubject: Re: A Little Indulgence (Sheryl)   A Little Indulgence (Sheryl) EmptyMon Aug 04, 2014 5:07 pm

From what Sheryl could process in a short amount of time, Tomoe basically told him that some people believe while others do not. That should be pretty much natural, even though he sort of expected more believers than not. But he would stay at expecting most likely. Religion wasn't something of deep interest for him. It was mostly a whim of the moment that he decided to pursue this path today. First thing he had thought of, and it had seemed rather plausible at that time. Now, it was getting a bit harder, as he was being engaged in a conversation about something he was not extremely knowledgeable about. But, he was willing to try, to at least appear friendly. He did not go completely 'buddy' with new people, but he wouldn't tell anyone to go take a hike without a reason either. And, for the record, Tomoe did seem like a genuinely nice female, even if she unknowingly dragged him into a conversation that was not his forte. This once he could admit it was not another's fault rather easily. Coming here may have invoked that he held interest in this beyond what a normal person would. He wasn't stuck up enough to try and tell himself otherwise.

Sheryl would squint his crimson eyes a litte, when Tomoe held up her book. A nice gesture, even though he did not know that particular one. ''Means we should believe for the sake of believing, as it may actually work? And if not, nothing is wasted. Philosophy sure has its quirks. However, if that were true...Then there wouldn't be so many that refuse to. Which leads to assume that there is some sort of drawback to a blind belief.'', he did his best to sound casuall, as much as this topic made him dig his mind quite a bit. Yes, he himself did not really believe, but it wasn't as if he had ever taken the time to contemplate why. And here he was, doing it for a small talk with a girl he did not really know. A strange coincidence, but he didn't want to think about it much. It would only make him worry about his disposition.

When she questioned whether she was stalling him, Sheryl would shake his head lightly. ''Not really. If I was that bent on going there, I would have left you in the dust already.'' ....That was actually a good realization. Why hadn't he...? It seemed that he truly must not have wanted to go there that much. Seeing as he was choosing to continue with small talk, instead of pursuing his original goal. That all, in consideration to his initial distrust of people. When had he amended his thinking, he didn't even know. Did his gears work faster than he could follow, or he just got completely distracted? That he probably wouldn't find out anytime soon. Which proved true as he finally caught onto the second part of what Tomoe said. Going up too...? Well, he had no reason to stop her..and...pond..? '!' That was far from what he would have liked to hear. Pond meant water, and that meant...that...Er... ''Feel free. After all, it is not on me to stop you.'', he would say, sounding perhaps a little bit shaken at that moment. ''..But, if you...I mean if there is a pond, I'd like to politely excuse myself of going nearby...If it doesn't bother you...'' He was indeed at least moderately uncomfortable by now. Not by Tomoe, but by the thought of a pond. Great. At least he tried to sound reasonable about it, if nothing else. Because, even if it did bother her, he would have to bow out, at least in case of close quarters. Going near water was one action he was definitely not planning to ease on.

PostSubject: Re: A Little Indulgence (Sheryl)   A Little Indulgence (Sheryl) EmptyMon Aug 04, 2014 6:29 pm

Fair enough. Though he didn’t really agree or disagree, just state some kind of perspective. Though he was nonetheless correct. “Absolutely. One should never believe so blindly into Gods, and have reasoning to back their claims, or else you get extremists and fanatics who will jump at the slightest argument against the idea. I am sure plenty of believe who believe are not blind and have reasons. I like to think many people are smart for the most part.” She nodded, confirming it to herself. It seemed that they were pretty much agreeing on it; oh, what fun it is to have some friendly conversation!

She then set her book in her purse, which still made it stick out about halfway, as the purse was small, and she only really kept medicine and a snack or two inside. She’d pick up the water bottle and leave it in her hand, holding it to her side as she gave a confused look at him when she mentioned the pond. Was he a hydrophobe? She decided not to question him on the matter, though she did get a bit of an embarrassed look when he mentioned that. “Oh, well there’s more than just ponds there. There’s probably trees to stay under for shade, or the actual shrine itself. It probably has a room inside people can go in and worship. Though I think in case someone shows up, it’d be best to avoid that.” Tomoe was feeling more and more proud of herself by the second the way she was controlling herself; “she” being the medication, but she liked to feel that she was helping. She’s less aware of herself without them, so she can have moments like these every so often. She stepped up so they were on the same level. “I’ll probably head there myself, care to join?” she asked. If he agreed, she’d walk up the steps carefully, pulling out a small candy bar to eat along the walk. Thank goodness she bought it on the way, so it was not sticky or melty and she could enjoy herself.

A Little Indulgence (Sheryl) Empty
PostSubject: Re: A Little Indulgence (Sheryl)   A Little Indulgence (Sheryl) EmptyMon Aug 04, 2014 7:52 pm

Sheryl would guess she had a point, as far as his own knowledge of that subject went. Which was not far at all. ''There are reasons for just about everything, are there not?'' That's what he would say, when concerning humans, whether in terms of religion or anything else. Humans always needed a reason to support their evidences, did they not? ''Do you yourself believe in Gods?'' His interest level was not very high, but the way the small talk was progressing, this question coming up was natural. One would ask that when discussing belief in Gods, right? And Tomoe seemed talkative enough to actually be happy to answer a question.

He watched Tomoe pack her stuff up into her small purse indifferently, deliberately avoiding taking a glance at her bottle of water. He did not need any encouragement in that at the moment. The word pond had been enough for him. He did not react to her slight look of confusion, not wanting to have to blabber out the truth. He did not trust her enough for that yet. They just met, did they not? For all he knew she could just try to throw him in the pond then. No, he wouldn't risk like that. Even if...on the inside he was vaguely aware that it was just him overreacting, and she probably wouldn't be like that. It wasn't easy to fight that feeling down, so he just rolled with it. Either way, he was not telling for now. ''The shade would do well, I'd say.'', he would say, glad that the pond idea was out of the line. That was, in a way a relief. ''Yes, I believe I can do so.'', he would actually smile a bit for the first time of their meeting. The shrine could indeed wait for now, he had no reason to hurry there. Tomoe seemed like a decent company, and he didn't feel the need to refuse such a simple offer. So, he would follow her as she walked, letting her lead the way.

A Little Indulgence (Sheryl) Empty
PostSubject: Re: A Little Indulgence (Sheryl)   A Little Indulgence (Sheryl) EmptyMon Aug 04, 2014 9:57 pm

As they walked, Tomoe pondered Sheryl’s question regarding the belief in Gods. Looking to him, she’d tilt her head slightly. “I see no reason not to. Either aliens or Gods, something’s gotta be out there, otherwise the entire universe would be a big waste of space if we were the only ones that could have life or make things. With what happened a few years ago with the red fog and rumors of monsters, who knows how many people believe now. But me, there’s probably a God or Gods out there, in what form I am not certain.” Sheryl was just giving fuel to Tomoe’s burning interest to debate. It seemed like nothing would be stopping her. “Do you not believe in God? The way you talk, you seem to either not believe or was just speaking passively. Though, you don’t have to say anything, I just met you after all,” she said chuckling a bit. As much as she loved to not shut up, she did have a miniscule level of restraint for those she did not know. But it would not be long before she continued talking as they reached the top of the stairs, the shrine back to its old self, if albeit completely devoid of anybody. It was pretty easy to find a small shady spot under a tree away from a pond and point it out to him. “There’s a spot.” Assuming he followed, she’d take a seat under the tree and set her things down in the patted dirt. It was too packed in for much of it to get on her clothes, so she wasn’t really worried. If he joined her, she’d look to him. “So if you weren’t here to worship, did you have another reason to stop by?” she would ask. She didn’t think the Shrine made a good dating spot, or hangout, so the reason was on her curious mind.

A Little Indulgence (Sheryl) Empty
PostSubject: Re: A Little Indulgence (Sheryl)   A Little Indulgence (Sheryl) EmptyTue Aug 05, 2014 11:00 am

The universe being a waste of space? Tomoe sure knew how to make up rather bizzare ideas. Sheryl had never bothered with thoughts like these, but she did have some sort of point. If there already were human like robots, then maybe aliens could exist too. On the other hand, even if there were Gods, they didn't seem to be doing much. He has never heard of anything godly happening, no matter how many people pray and all. She then turned his question on him, which was in a way expected. ''Not in particular. Never had a 'reason' to do so. Maybe if it could be proven there is one....I can't find the liking in believing in something, that I may just later find out doesn't exist, or matters not.'' He was being a bit indifferent about this, but he did not entertain the idea of believing in thin air much. Without an logical proof, it felt lame to believe in something. And when you find out, that such something doesn't exist, it only brings dissapointment. It is better to know your grounds beforehand. ''Though, I could can believe that other forms of like exist. Whether they're godlike or not, however, remains to be seen....'' In that sense, it was easier. A God was a very direct way to summarize a being, and he was sort of skeptical about that. But, something different than normal humans could exist, could it not? That saying, he was not human either, so it wasn't hard for him to think that way. She did say he didn't have to answer her question, but if he was already here, he might as well. It wasn't that much of a personal matter, so he didn't find it that hard to discuss, even if she was a stranger by all means. Religion was not something he took as a serious part of his life.

When Tomoe pointed out a place, he would nod, glad there was no water surface nearby. He didn't have much problem handling the heat, but a shade was still a nice sounding option. Following her, he would eventually sit down himself, after anylzing the ground for a moment. Well, no need to be worried about dirt. He was already wearing black. How much worse could it even get? When she gave a question, he would look at her briefly, deciding his answer for a short while. Right, he needed a reason to be here...And that was...''Just went out of my way to take a look. Didn't have any real plan for coming here.'', he would answer in the end. That was mostly true. Sheryl had come here to take a look, and he didn't think he would go any farther with it, had he not met Tomoe and got distracted. For all he knew, he would have been somewhere else by now. The shrine couldn't be that interesting. Not enough to hold his attention for long, being scarcely interested in the religion. ''Can I assume you came here to read a book? You didn't seem to be doing any worshipping yourself.'', he would ask, in a relaxed tone. He did not mean to turn it against her, but he was somewhat wondering why was she really here then. She did ask what reason he had if not worshipping, but it did not seem she was here for that either. Therefore...she had her own reason. That should be just about right...

A Little Indulgence (Sheryl) Empty
PostSubject: Re: A Little Indulgence (Sheryl)   A Little Indulgence (Sheryl) EmptyTue Aug 05, 2014 2:56 pm

So he’s a ‘Seeing is believing’ type? Tomoe came across people like that, and from her experience, people like that can be finicky. There are plenty of things you cannot see but you know are there. Then again, what people like that would argue is that there is actual facts and study to suggest they are there and we know they exist, which was valid. She was still trying to come up with an argument against that, but maybe it was not meant to have a rebuttal at the moment. Were it anyone else she probably would have continued the subject, but she let it go for another day. Resting her back up against a tree, she looked to Sheryl after he sat down with her. “Um…yeah I guess so. I didn’t come here to worship, so reading was probably the reason,” she said. She seemed to convey that originally she had no reason. All she did this morning was eat and grab the book. Maybe it was on a whim that she decided to come out to the shrine to read. There aren’t many places in Ueitawa where you can just relax outside of your home, except maybe the hot springs and mountains, but that took too much time, and she was unsure about the idea of letting other girls see her with less clothing, or even other boys. She’d like to fit into her life a time to visit those places, just not today.

“But did you ever hear about what happened couple years back? About how some of the areas around Ueitawa got red with fog and rumors of monsters showed up? That could be why not a lot of people are showing up here lately. Plus I remember part of the shrine getting decisively destroyed around that time. Know anything about what happened?” She asked, finding a way to get to another subject of discussion. She was reminded of it after she met Joka, the one who worked at the carnival. It seemed that wherever the red zones popped up, people kind of stopped visiting there. She didn’t know if Nadashiki followed, but it was possible. She graduated just before the ordeal, so she mostly was stuck at home and working various jobs to save money. It was only recently she decided to start up college and her internship. “I hope what happened several years ago won’t mark Ueitawa off the map. I like this place.” Contrary to her upset words, she had a bit of a smile. Her medicine was working, as she wasn’t freaking out or anything, but it didn’t eliminate the symptoms. Most likely the smile was noticeable and would come off as either her being eccentric or weird.

A Little Indulgence (Sheryl) Empty
PostSubject: Re: A Little Indulgence (Sheryl)   A Little Indulgence (Sheryl) EmptyTue Aug 05, 2014 4:25 pm

Sheryl wasn't sure how to define this. Apparently, neither of them came here with the reason to do anything religious, yet they ended up discussing it rather extensively. Why? That he would have liked to know, but he had a feeling asking such a question would sound weird. And, it was a bit too late anyway, now that the subject was pretty much done and over with. Perhaps it was just the influence of being near the shrine that brought all of this on. Or the strength of assumption. An impression could dictate a lot of what was to happen. ''I see. More pleasant to read outside, I assume?'' He was not truly seeking an answer with this one, moreso just stating it aloud. It was up to Tomoe whether she commented or not, as he was not particularly bent on either.

The change of subject was rather big and abrupt, and for a while Sheryl didn't know how to answer her. He had not been in Ueitawa during the time she was speaking of, so he couldn't say how true such stories were. And while being what he was meant he was supposed to be fighting those 'monsters' she mentioned and all, he only had some basic knowledge about these things from what he had heard long ago. Due to things as they were, he never had the chance to see or confirm any of those things himself, and that made it no easier. For all he knew, he couldn't do much more than assume at this point. Sheryl would spend a little time simply looking at Tomoe, thinking over her words, before making a move to say anything. ''Can't say I know much. From the way you put it, I figure it is possible something like that happened. However, I had not been around these parts back then, so there isn't anything specific I would know of it.'' What else was he to say? Sure, he could think of some things, but that wasn't something he'd just put out there like that. She would have to content herself with that, unless she decided to ask more from another angle. With her next statement, Sheryl would look at her with a bit of confusion, albeit only briefly, before putting on a neutral face. Her expression and words did not exactly match up, but he was not about to call out on it. Not this time around for sure. ''As long as people still stay here, I don't think this place will get forgotten. You said it has been years. If it was meant to ruin Ueitawa, it already would have. Or so I would say.'' That, and people flocked around all the time. It would only be a matter of time before someone decided to live here again, even if it had gotten deserted. Rumours do eventually get forgotten after long amounts of time. Humans live only so long, and such things get lost in generations.

A Little Indulgence (Sheryl) Empty
PostSubject: Re: A Little Indulgence (Sheryl)   A Little Indulgence (Sheryl) EmptyTue Aug 05, 2014 5:31 pm

Tomoe gave a small smile to Sheryl as she pulled her book out without opening it. “It would be much better if it wasn’t as hot. I wouldn’t mind the cold.” She set the book in her lap. She could not wait for the winter to finally get here so she would have an excuse to go out to the springs or mountains. Experiences like that she suddenly wanted to have in her life before she finished college and went to teaching. Tomoe gave it some thought before looking to Sheryl. “Well, welcome to Ueitawa Sheryl, even though you may not be exactly new to the place. Maybe we can meet some other time after today.” Her words were formal as she was taught as a kid and in school, but his words did help calm her a little bit regarding the future of Ueitawa. “Yeah, probably. I like to think this place will be just fine in a little bit. I guess people need more time to calm down. I wouldn’t mind that,” she said. Her head seemed to lower slightly on its own before she jerked it back up. Man these pills acted really fast. She was already a little drowsy. Maybe she should head back home and take today to rest. She wouldn’t mind that either. “Actually, I may have to cut today short. I am a bit tired, and I don’t want to fall asleep here, what with it maybe being haunted and all,” she said, attempting a joke, though not as poor as before. She stood up and put her things away, before reaching to grab Sheryl’s hand from him and shake it friendly enough. “I’ll see you around,” she would say before yawning and turning to walk down the steps of the shrine, on to her way home. She better hurry, the last thing she needed was a nap on the nearest bench.

A Little Indulgence (Sheryl) Empty

Sheryl would nod when Tomoe explained her slight distaste in the current hot weather. Well, for him it didn't matter much, but he could somewhat understand that too much heat could be annoying. That was why they were in the shades now, was it not? Direct sunlight only made it warmer. ''Thank you. I guess we may end up meeting again.'' Not that he knew where she lived. But since he moved around, and generally stayed at various places, it was likely he would run into Tomoe again. Or at least catch sight of her, if nothing else. That was simply an observation. He was not yet sure whether he actually wanted to meet up again or not. That, however was normal. He took a while to warm up to people, so it was expected that he was not all hurr into it yet. And probably not for a good while longer.

He gave her a slightly questioning look later, when she seemed to be starting to doze off while talking. She confirmed being tired a moment afterwards, which was a bit surprising. Sheryl wouldn't say sitting in a shade was exhausting, and Tomoe didn't appear tired before. However, he didn't have a way to explain this to himself, so he simply offered her a small smile, taking the handshake, albeit a bit passively. Still not exactly used to contact with someone he barely knew. ''Yes, see you. Have a good nap.'' Well, at least he assumed she was going to sleep eslewhere, where it was not 'so' haunted, as she put it. He figured she was most likely joking, but didn't feel like commenting on it. Didn't seem to be needed.

...Now he wanted to go to the Shrine even less. His interest in that was pretty much zero, but since he had nothing better to do, Sheryl would stay around a bit longer, looking at the trees....Why, even he did not know...It was not exactly an entertaining activity after all....
